Heat was switched off for the season and it was cold in our room. Uncomfortably cold. Desk staff was just Ok and helped with a water taxi to airport which worked out fine for $140 euros cash. Breakfast was adequate but nothing special. The best was that the hotel provided a free water taxi excursion to Morano for a glass blowing tour. Sales opportunity at the end of course as nothing is “free”. No pressure to buy but strongly encouraged. Over priced compared to shops near the square.

Great place to stay within touching distance of St Marks Square - wouldn't recommend in the hotter months however as AC is completely useless/broken. Also had small leaks in the bathroom throughout our stay however the location is amazing and outweighs these problems!!

The staff was wonderful. The location is amazing with only one small bridge to cross with luggage off St Marks Square. The restaurants in the area were fantastic. Found 4 we loved within a five minute walk. ( there is no restaurant at the hotel and the kitchenette advertised does not exist. The burners on counter disconnected and no plates, glassware, Silver or pots and pans in unit). The breakfast room was nice (was the old on-site restaurant) which no longer operates. The hotel was great in helping arrange porter help to aid arrival and departure with luggage- just call them directly.

What an amazing staff. Rooms were beautiful. Staff was so helpful and polite. I’ve stayed in other areas but this was the best. Took my 85 year old mom, and she was able to get around well. Close to so much dining, coffee, shopping. Easy to get to water taxis. Definitely a great hotel to stay at.

We love the hotel and the staff was super friendly, they give us a free ride to mirando by a private boat, was amazing. The breakfast at the hotel was super delicious. All you can eat for a super cheap price but the ingredients was super good. Thanks for having us. We hope to come back soon.

My only cautionary feedback is that It's a historic higgledy piggledy building and not ideal for Customers with mobility issues even though there are lifts. Otherwise it has the best location, a great breakfast, and comfortable rooms.

Its official name is Hotel Royal San Marco. Don’t map to San Marco Palace. It’s a great location with balconies overlooking a canal. Grocery next store, and 2 minute walk to St Mark Square. Very comfortable room, but beds are very firm. Only one bathroom, which was tough on American family of four. Staff were very helpful. Breakfast Club runs until 11am, and has eggs, bacon, cold cuts, cereal, rolls, pastries and fruit with large selection of coffees, teas and juices. We didn’t realize, but with our reservation came a free tour to Murano Island. Check out at 11, but free bag storage allowed us to do more sightseeing, and take 10 min walk to Rialto Bridge. Really 4.5 out of 5 because of firm beds. Everything else was great, and super deal for the price!

Overall, this is a very nice property and perfect for a couple or a family of three or four. It's in a fantastic location connected directly to St. Mark's Square, a short walk from several "water bus" lines, plenty of shopping and dining options. We stayed in a Junior Suite, which was nice and even had a kitchenette, but there were really few amenities, and the shower was strangely designed even for Europe. Nonetheless, the staff were friendly, the breakfast was good, and we would certainly stay there again

Very close to Piazza San Marco. Walkable from the water taxi drop off. However, street names and numbers are confusing so it took a couple asks to find it. The staff was friendly. The room was huge and clean. A great area.

Excellent location just steps from Piazza San Marco. We got a suite room, very spacious and very quiet. Staff very helpful and kind. A special mention to the ladies who were taking care of the breakfast room. Extremely kind and pleasant to deal with and the buffet was great.

Don't expect a comfortable stay!
The location of the hotel is hidden and its because the actual name is different - no communication of this was provided and it was a nightmare to "find" the hotel while you're hauling your luggages. Bed was uncomfortable but the bad part is you only get one pillow and it the very flat and worn-out pillow! Lastly, after having travelled about 5 other cities in Italy it was very shocking to find a not so friendly front office. You can say Ciao and Buongiorno all you want but they're "too busy" to ever respond. Even though the hotel was beautiful and clean, I am not staying here next time.

The Location is 1 block away from St Mark’s Square. There is a Supermarket next door. We stayed in a suite (1 bedroom apartment). The bed/mattras is a bit dated but enough for 3 of us (slim body). 1 queen size in the bedroom Convert the sofa into a bed (add on Mattrass) 1 additional Bed Bathroom is good

While I never really stayed at this hotel due to a booking error that I attempted to correct within an hour of the booking. How Expedia Handed the event was less than professional. Even though the hotel was willing to make things right expedia miss worded the communication and the correction never happened. So I paid full price for a Hotel I never stayed in. I asked maybe if I could reimbursed some Expdia Travel Dollars but they said NO. Never the less I have re-booked this hotel for July and hope to have a positive review of the hotel forth coming.

This property is a bit tired. But the rooms are big with a living room and table and chairs. Although the light for the table didn’t work. It was located in a good takeoff point. We got a free trip to Marino and enjoyed seeing the glass blowing. It was quiet at night. The bathroom was large and modern enough. The bed was very firm.

Fantastic location. The bathroom and most areas were spotless. It was adequate but we would not stay again. We picked this hotel with this location and price point on purpose to avoid issues. Smelled like cigarette smoke upon entry (May be coming from courtyard below where employees smoke), or from an older rental period. They offered a free glass factory tour. During the tour the factory will show you pieces that cost 1800£ to 33000£ and more, honestly expecting to make a sale. When done, they push you back towards the boat with no options of spending any time on at any other location on that island. Many pieces are the exact same name on the glass that you will find closer to the hotel, like water glasses, for 1/8 the price. Charging 160£ for a water glass that is priced 20£ in a shop is unfair. The bed was ancient spring mattress and probably the hardest one I have ever “slept” on. And the pillows were the same — hard stones. The lock on front door is cumbersome and difficult to open even to just exit. But, it was clean, safe, and a beautiful area. Staff were good helpful people which we appreciated. Especially with a language barrier, they did a good job helping navigate the area.

It was a traditional Venetian setting. The conditions were acceptably dated and well maintained. Being on the top floor the views and sounds of the surrounding neighborhood were awesome complete with having a ring side seat to the 600 year old clock with the mechanical men striking the time! Despite the busyness of St. Mark's Square 2 minutes walk away, the hotel was relaxing, quiet and restful with a great breakfast included!
