“excellent location”
Arrived on Australia Day so taxi could not get to hotel 'cus immediate roads closed to traffic for celebration. Bars in hotel tend to close a bit early, 10.30-11.00. Restaurant eating in hotel not really catered for but masses of opportunity immediately outside. Hotel is very clean and well serviced and for the price is remarkably well located being within strolling distance of all the main Sydney attractions.
“I WILL RETURN!!!!!!”
had a great time , so much to do and see in Sydney.Walk from Coogee to Bondi, superb coastal walk, visit the Opera House, and the State theatre a MUST. Take the ferry to manly and the Botanical gardens are out of this world! The Australian people, the magnificent beaches, the gardens, the birds.i can't wait to return.thankyou Australia.
“comfortable”
Location excellent. Staff very helpful. Room very clean but could do with a toster, Would go back
“Great value hotel”
Perfect location with a welcoming environment. The major attractions are just 5 mins walk and the hotel is in the CBD so plenty of transport options.
“great central hotel”
clean hotel. kitchenette with microwave very handy when travelling for a while. very good location to explore sydney
“windy city”
hotel located near to Martin place, has two entrances, one-Phillip st, the other Elizabeth rd( through bottle shop). Need a swipe card to use lifts, sometimes it plays up: go to reception and get it reswiped, it will work fine then. Room clean and tidy, no views, tv has several channels, helpful if suffering jet lag. Bistro downstairs behind reception ok tea and toast A$5. As hotel at top end of Sydney, well located for the Botanical gardens, 5 mins walk. The harbour is15 min walk away. At this end of the city(CBD) prices are expensive and you need good evening clothes as the bars and restaurants are more upmarket than tourist destinations. To get around free, use the green bus. It runs around the city in two directions to most main areas. if you want a bargain go to Paddys market, massive number of stalls, plus a food court and shopping centre above. be aware if transport ordered from airport, they are parked 10 min walk away, not helpful if you have walking problems
“Good base to explore Sydney”
Good budget hotel. Location, in business area perfect for shopping (all price ranges). Plenty of cafes on every corner for food / snacks. Is above a social club which I initially found a bit strange but had no issues with. Didn't eat in hotel - restaurant not really appealling. Close to Botanical Gardens and also about 15 min walk to harbour bridge, darling harbour, opera house.
“Generally OK - Good Location”
The hotel was clean , comefortable and had Martin Place Train Station a 1 min walk away. Was 2 blocks away from Pitt St and was in the middle between going to the Harbour and to the shops, fantastice location. As the hotel was over the NSW League CLub then you room is going to be on the higher floors. Lifts are very slow so if you don't like them then could be an issue. Also tou can hear the traffice noise from your room so you not going to get piece and quiet.
“Simple, comfortable hotel in great central location”
We booked this hotel because of its low-price and its excellent location. It's close to Sydney's main shopping streets (George Street, Pitt Street, Market Street, etc), and the Botanical Gardens; about 10 minutes' walk from The Rocks and Circular Quay, the Opera House and Harbour Bridge; and near several railway stations for transport to the airport or around Sydney. It's also just around the corner from the 360 Degree bar about 80 floors up the Centrepoint building - perfect for a bird's eye view over Sydney and a glass of champagne at sunset. Darling Harbour and China Town are also within walking distance. The rooms were clean and comfortable with microwave oven, fridge, kettle (with tea, coffee, milk and sugar), plates, bowls, glasses, mugs and cutlery, teatowel and washing-up liquid, iron, ironing board, and hair dryer. There's a list of takeaway options with telephone numbers in the room, a bistro and bottle shop on the lower floors and a convenience store nearby which offered cheap internet access. Our bathroom was a little 'tired' but it was very clean and certainly adequate so this wasn't an issue. We were on the eighth floor, just outside the lifts, but weren't troubled by noise inside the hotel or out. Philip Street is in the legal district with lawyers in gowns and wigs strolling around outside during the working week. It felt extremely safe walking around this area both at night and in the day. We'd happily consider staying at this hotel again.
“short stay”
very clean room ,staff friendly and efficient only drawback was room was close to lift and vending machine and you could here every purchase in the middle of the night But if you want somewhere ideal for business district and easy walk to circular quay and darling harbour I would definitely go back to stay again
