The staff was helpful and nice, the room was decent enough, although it could have had a little maintenance, drooping shelf in bathroom and there was a window with a slightly broken hasp, resulting in a cold room. Fixed by getting an oven from the reception for 1 day, then I managed to lock the window better. Also the lighting is a bit sparse in the room, with finicky lights by the bed and finicky outlets. But this is just minor issues. Breakfast is decent and alot of choices. The location of the hotel is excellent, right in the best possible area to get to anywhere almost, be it the Nidarosdome cathedral, Science museum, army museum, Stiftsgården, the old city bridge, shopping areas, concert venues. Etc.

Good hotel
This is a good hotel. The area where i stayed showed its older architecture. It is not a luxury hotel but it did its job quite well. The location is excellent and the breakfast buffet was excellent.

Overall hotel was ok. Should have been told up front that the elevator only went “6” floors. We are older and our room was on the 7th floor! Shower in our room leaked over bathroom floor when taking shower. Cleaner did not pick up dirty/cups & glasses until the last day we were there. Each day we put them on the desk or finally the window sill. All in all we decided to stick it out and not complain. There was one very sweet desk clerk girl that went out of her way to get us clean cups and one night the tv would not work and my husband thought it might be the remote batteries and she found new ones and he changed them and that was the problem. Also one day our room was not cleaned and she was so sorry and she found us clean towels. I would like to say that the bed was very comfortable.

I sent out laundry two days before my departure. The staff never sent it to the cleaners and did not inform me. When I inquired about my laundry the evening before I checked out, I was presented with my dirty laundry with no explanation. Irresponsible of the hotel. Disappointing for me, to say the least.

Thon Hotel Trondheim was in a great central location. Easily walking distance to Nidarosdomen and also to Trondheim Central Station, not to mention that the hotel was in the same complex as Trondheim Torg shopping center. The staff was helpful and the hotel room was kept in great condition. The hotel breakfast included in my room price was also amazing and there was a large variety of hot and cold food and drink options. I can see myself staying here again when I visit Trondheim again in the future.

Perfect location and great breakfast!
The location is perfect! There is a shopping mall next door. McDonald's opens til 4am on Friday and Saturday so no worries you get hungry when night out on weekend. Walking distance to sightseeing like Nidaros Cathedral, The Old Town, even central mean street. They have great breakfast options which you won't be disappoint. And they even have a coffee machine at lobby so you can have free coffee anytime you want! Definitely recommend stay here!

Excellent location- near all the Trondheim attractions, short walk to main railway station, supermarket only a couple of minutes away. 25 minutes walking time to Lerkendal Stadion. Nice restaurants al around the hotel. Room size for single room was good with all I needed. Wifi was excellent and breakfast was much better than most hotels I have stayed at.

Bright Central accommodation.
Perfectly located by the city Square (which is presently under reconstruction) this a pleasant bright hotel. Our room wasn't big but was reasonably comfortable with great bed, good sized TV and decent bathroom. Breakfast is taken on the 3rd floor with good selection. We were pleased to see a guest laundry on the 6th floor and free to use. Parking in Trondheim is expensive. It costs Nok240 for 24 hours in a nearby car park. The Irish pub next to the hotel provides a good meal. The hotel backs on to a big shopping mall.

We stayed at this hotel on 15th June and found everything to be excellent. The location was good and an easy walk from the train station. The person on reception was very pleasant despite us being over 3 hours late in arriving due to rail disruptions! Lovely room and breakfast and I was also impressed to learn that they had self-service laundry facilities. Would stay again and definitely recommend.

Single room with one twin bed was very small, small room and small bathroom with very small shower..amazingly bad view into a sad backyard, and had to go to another hotel for breakfast, very overcrowded and got only seat with others after waiting in a cew..bad experience, will find another place next time.

good hotel, but rooms a bit cold
My only issue with the hotel is that the room was, in my opinion, colder than I am used to. The good thing is the desk has fan heaters that you can borrow. So, if you don't mind the noise that will work. It could be that the rooms are fine for Scandinavians, but for others it may be a bit cold. Otherwise, the staff are very nice and the amenities are good. It is quite centrally located.

A Visit to Trondheim
Comfortable hotel right in the centre of Trondheim. Bed very comfortable, good shower and good buffet breakfast (included in price) with hot food options. Would recommend this to anyone visiting Norway on a limited budget.

I liked the central location and the breakfast. We didn’t like the person who checked us in. She checked our passports. Wanted my husband’s credit card also. Behaved as if we were not be trusted. Gave us a smelly tiny room with a double bed whereas we had booked and paid for a room with a King bed.

Best location for city visit
Great location....next to shopping mall and grocery store. Central to city sightseeing walks, airport bus stop 3 minute level walk away. Best breakfast buffet we had in Norway. We visited during the hottest week Trondheim had for decades. Room was too hot with windows closed but cooled down quickly once we opened them ......usually don’t have the option to fully open windows in hotels....we loved it.
