Front desk staff was helpful and spoke Fluent English. There is a bus stop close by, but I just walked the old stone streets. They have a nice garden overlooking the nearby hills. Breakfast was well prepared, and the staff preparing they accommodated me.

Wonderful Hotel, great service, great location
Hotel Santa Caterina was wonderful, rooms a bit small, but comfortable. The view of the Tuscan hillside from their garden balcony (where we had breakfast) was especially beautiful. The only flaw was their window shutters did not let in enough light, offering no view, and leaving the room very dark all the tme!!

Unique and dear to my heart, with breakfast outdoors and a Tuscany view to enjoy. Bathtub was slippery, though, and a mat and some grab bars would be a welcome addition for us older folks.

First impressions worth miles and hours of flights
Upon my arrival I realized I didn’t need to worry about any misunderstanding or looking up how to say my words in Italian, the receptionists “spoke” the courteous smile language, that genuine smile that says more than words and any person willing to go above and beyond have. Only stayed for one day, but surely will come back and stay here longer.

This hotel placed near the city center. It takes 30 minutes to get to Campo Square. Breakfast was a little unique .. not buffet for free self pick up but served by the staff. Any they were kind and nice.

The staff at this facility were very professional, friendly and attentive. The breakfast is great and the service excellent even if you do not speak Italian. If you rent a car, which we did, they have gated parking in the back of the hotel. (Note: there is a small fee for this but well worth it, because finding parking in Tuscany in general can be like finding the holy grail. A word of advise, if you’ve never driven in Italy, don’t; rely on public transportation🤔😂. It’s a nice walk to the entrance of historical Sienna, where we always felt safe even during the night hours. The room might be a little small compared to American standards, but the view out the window and old wood gave the atmosphere we were looking for. Note: our room had a loft with the sleeping quarters on the upper level, the steps were steep; it was not a problem for us but if you have small children or a disability you might want to ask about it. If you need to know anything as the concierge, they are available 24 hours a day and even helped us order pizza for delivery to the hotel on the last night we were there. There is also a small tax you have to pay that is not included in the booking rate, but believe this is true throughout Italy. Overall a great experience and would stay there again.

A wonderful hotel!
The unique property with it's beautiful garden is a treed oasis. It has views into the countryside and is the perfect spot for breakfast. The location is perfect. Just outside the gate of the old city. Staff were so friendly and helpful. What a wonderful place to stay!

Rude male staff - spent more time telling us we were wrong And it was our fault than helping us and showing empathy about our incorrect booking (we had not seen the room was a split level with the toilet downstairs and this was a problem for us as I am pregnant and struggle with stairs at night). Empathy is not something He had been taught - a course may help him. Breakfast was fine - I won’t write home about it. Looking back, the location from the Center may be a bit far for some. Parking was easy to find. The view was fine but you can find much better views in Tuscany!!!

I love the property because I felt like HOME. This is a property with character, antique, classic and every day you see a new details in the decoration. I took pictures every day with an artist eye. GREAT customer service. HAPPY staff taking pride in serving their guesses with a smile always..everything is minutes away. The best restaurants in town were highly recommended by the Hosts and i was very satisfied of their cuisine. I will come back again...with my family 💖👌

The property and it’s garden are excellent. I especially liked the breakfast room which is adjacent to the garden making the atmosphere very pleasant. The only downside for us was the hotel location which is outside the city wall. The walk into the city center was a little too long for us because we both use canes. If you don’t have problems walking this is a fine location.

We had an awesome stay at Hotel Santa Caterina, the room was very clean and comfortable, the garden seating overlooking the Tuscan hills was amazing, buffet breakfast was great, excellent decafe coffee, the staff were super friendly and helpful, the owner recommended 5 city’s close by to visit and she was right on, Can’t say enough about the staff, they made our stay in Siena/Tuscany wonderful.

Great find walking distance to the centre of Siena
Great location very short walk to the centre of Siena. Lots of on street free parking too. The room was very comfortable but do check what you have booked if you are not comfortable with a split level room with the bed upstairs as the stairs are steep. They have a beautiful garden where you can have breakfast which has gorgeous views. We loved this hotel!

Siena is a most wonderful city and our stay at Hotel Santa Caterina was delightful in every way. Lorenza and Lucio are terrific hosts. The location is perfect - we loved being able to walk into town and also to drive out of town into the countryside. We will certainly return as soon as we can!

Wonderful hotel
Very beautiful and comfortable hotel, conveniently located just outside the city walls of Siena. We were uograded to an apartment which had wonderful views over the valley. The staff were friendly and very helpful, and the breakfast was a good selection. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again.

The pictures and description of this hotel online are not accurate. It is noisy, much less classy than pictured, and the staff is rude.

Dear Guest, we are very sorry that our Hotel didn’t meet your expectations. Our final goal is always that our guests can fully enjoy their stay here. Their appreciation is always our best professional prize and we are always aiming to their full satisfaction because we love our job. Shortly after you arrived you left. We don’t feel like we are the worst place in the world without even taking the chance to spend a night with us but it is a matter of taste and we have to respect that. A couple of days after your departure you asked for a refund. On the same day you also graded our Hotel 1 out of 5 under without even signing it. When you booked you chose a lower price because the “non refundable” rate is cheaper but by its own definition it is not refundable. With this kind of behavior you are having we should allow our guests to go away with a refund if they don’t like us and moreover we should be exposed to their frustration on a review that is not even based on a full experience in our Hotel since you didn’t spend the night here and neither you had breakfast. We must say that on Expedia.com, we have 243 reviews and your is the first with 1 out of 5, which in our opinion doesn’t reflect the truth (you might not like our Hotel but we don’t think we should be graded the least). Fortunately not all the people walk away, asking for a refund and pretending to grade our Hotel. At first we thought that we might not have responded to your review because we found your words coming from a sense of frustration rather than from an objective analysis of our Hotel. But we finally considered appropriate to answer to your words. For the truth and for standing up for our Hotel and for our daily work.
