A simply WONDERFUL HOTEL

Posted 21-Apr-2014
Pros: Everything... A lounge open 24 hrs for tea, coffee, cookies and a very pleasant and warm feel to it.
Cons: No
Location: Across the street from The Bund.
The hotel has a perfect location, great breakfast buffet, impecable friendly professional staff and the architecture is fantastic. Breathtaking views from the rooms.

Excellent hotel, excellent location.

I upgraded my room to a room with a view of the bund, and it was well worth it. The hotel had no bar, so the first night I ordered room service and I must say I was very disappointed by the quality of the food I received.

magnificient view

Posted 14-Apr-2014
Pros: Location
Cons: The staff need to be more professional, more smile and more concern about their guests. May be just their culture, needs to be internationalized.
The facility is good and I have no complaint. We have a good view of the river on both sides. Something you just can't expect more from a hotel room.

Fantastic location, fantastic facilities

Posted 30-Mar-2014
Cons: Could do with a pool and a better gym but there is a well facilitated gym around the corner. Not a big deal.
Location: Party town!
Definitely my choice of hotels to stay in Shanghai from now on

Very stylish hotel, with nice additional touches (complementary tea/coffee lounge; free wireless; gym with separate yoga stretching area). Fantastic views from Bund delux room.

Peaceful elegance on the Bund

Posted 29-Jan-2014
Pros: Location and facilities.
Location: Walk the Bund promenade and eat at Shanghai Grandmmother in nearby Fuzhou Road
Well-placed hotel on the Bund. Discrete efficiency all round, spacious and well-equipped rooms that even include your own espresso machine, electric blinds and a small second TV to watch whilst in the bath. Only criticism would be that the atmosphere is a little cold. The facilities make up for this though. Make sure you get a Bund facing room.

Lovely hotel right on The Bund

Posted 23-Jan-2014
Pros: Proximity to the main shopping area, Metro and ferry to Pudong.
Location: If one turns left directly outside the hotel into East Jinling Rd you come across a whole street of musical instrument shops. Yu Yuan gardens close by
The whole experience in this hotel was wonderful. From the extensive breakfast to the helpfulness of the staff I cannot fault it at all. It is very easy to reach from East Nanjing Rd or Yu Yuan Gardens Metro, although would advise taxi if lugging cases about. If you're coming from Pudong International Airport then take the Maglev to Longyang Rd. Get a combined Maglev & Metro Ticket to travel in to the city. The Metro is very easy to negotiate with all stops signed in English. It is also remarkable cheap to travel relative to the London Underground.
