Birthday trip..
Birthday trip I wanted to stay in a popular hotel for safety and convience. I was disappointed in customer service.. First night ok I went shopping the next day to be left a note I had to change my room because of mechanical issues. I could have done better and not be inconvienced.. I left a day early and the hotrl refuse to reimburse that day..Oh by thd way the WiFi is terrible..I paid for my own WiFi

everything was well except for the Taxi service. I could not beleive that people managing taxi allowed people with proper looking taxi but the driver's number was not displayed. another had a metre wired with a separate switch which charged lot more. one driver took me and dropped me elsewhere at 5pm where there were more taxi. I paid and got out but all the 4 of them were willing to take at any rate. lucky I walked to another hotel and they called a Uber. I paid the hotel and driver safely dropped me off. people managing knows who are real and not real. visitors who don't know must be given a bad image of China. I have been travelling for past 25 years so I know.

Stayed in this hotel while visiting family in Shanghai. Overall it is a nice hotel. The price is reasonable if you consider its location. If you buy breakfast at the property, it is very expensive, even to Chinese standard. The pool and gym are nice. Room is clean, bed is comfortable. The towels are snow white and soft. The staff is friendly. I don't know why it is rated only 7.8/10. I don't have anything to complain about.

I had a really stomach turning experience at the Double Tree Pudong. I had a wonderful swim, but when I got out of the pool, another swimmer spat into the overflow. It almost made me sick. Double Tree needs to let patrons know that the pool overflow is not a drain - the water goes back into the pool.

We asked them deliver our luggage after check in. after wait for 40 mines, no one delivery luggage to our room. I have to go down the lobby to get our luggage. Their excuse is that only one worker in the hotel deliver the luggage that night. Secondly, don’t take the taxi from the hotel. We call the taxi, we think that the driver modify the meter. Our trip is only 3km, the receipts shows 9km in 7 mines. It drive on street. No way that you can drive that fast speed. Thirdly, the room is very small. The tv is on side wall of our bed and sofa, you can’t watch TV.

The hotel post 11 years old photos, the rugs are very dirty, stains every where, the room doesn’t look like the photos at all. Smell like mold and tabaco. The bathroom is so dirty, black mold everywhere. I talked to the manager to change me to another room and the other room were the same. He told me that all the rooms were like that. I asked to cancel my reservation and give me my money back because I couldn’t stay there. They refused and I disputed my charge and I get my money back from Expedia when I show the disgusting photos. Expedia told me that they will take this case further, because the advertised something different. The staff is nice and the only pretty thing the hotel has, is the lobby, apart of that, everything else is disgusting. This hotel is not a 5 star, is more like 3 star.

There was no air condition in the rooms. The hall and lobby were nice and cool but the room was super warm. They said it’s central air con. Hot air was turned off but cool air not available until late April. They gave me a fan but my room was constantly at 25oC. Their engineer even argued with me indicating that the hall way temp (probably in 21oC) was the same temp as my room where my thermostat was showing 25oC. Full of excuses in this hotel. Won’t go back there again.

Heating wasn’t very good and was noisy. Also could smell smoke often from other rooms. 2 Colleagues booked the same hotel and got to stay in the new building without asking.

one night stay in Shanghai Pudong
One of the older doubletree hotel in CHina. the carepet is pretty worn in the room and hall way. The check-in process was kind of slow compared to Chinese hotel standard. The hotel is in a nice location, close to many restaurant, shopping centers and etc. The bed was comfortable. Wireless internet worked well.
