“Solid hotel in great location for French Concession and Nanjing Rd shops”
This hotel seemed mainly geared up for business travellers, so what it lacked it atmosphere it made up for in facilities (e.g. concierge, swimming pool & gym, business centre with internet access, small shop, money exchange etc.). Its main selling points are that its clean, safe, easy for non-Chinese speakers, and its 5 mins walk from Nanjing Road (Shanghai's main shopping street) and 10-15 mins from the bars and restaurants of the french concession. The staff were incredibly helpful as well - I forgot to pack my anti-malaria tablets for the next part of our trip and they made several phone calls to help us find a clinic that stocked them.
“Pretty good for price”
Stayed here a few times. Good location, close to metro, room rate good. Go for the exec rate to get internet and breakfast included.
“Good but a bit tight on space”
Overall, I am very satisfied. The hotel's central location makes it a good choice for getting around by taxi. Swimming pool, gym are pretty good and the restaurant offers pretty good choice. The space for working is a bit limited - small desk and tight space between bed and desk. Breakfasts are too expensive and should offer different size options.
“Convenient, Clean, Comfortable stay - no frills”
Good business style hotel suitable for leisure guests. The reception are excellent, very helpful. Rooms are good however, I think the higher floors may be nicer than lower floors. Western style restaurant could do with a makeover, the menu is limited and the staff speak vert little English. If you do not have high expectations then it is fine. Excellent swimming pool, gym and spa. Taxi to Bund and main downtown Shanghai is only 12 RMB (less than one pound)! So even though it slightly out from the main attractions it is only 5 mins in a cab.
“good value for money hotel”
very clean and tidy hotel the resterant food was very good except for the waiter service a bit slake in my opion. good hotel would recommend to a friend
“Location, Loaction, Loacation”
Good, comfortable rooms although on the small side (but how many people stay all day in the room in Shanghai). The hotel is located in the Jing An Si close to the Jing An Temple and the Yan An gardens. Walking through the Yan An gardens leads to Peoples Square and finally down through Nanjing Lu to the Bund where the full vista of Pudong can be enjoyed. In the opposite direction there are many Stores, Restaurants and Bars.
“Good location, all else a rip off.”
Although I booked a room for 2 adults, the breakfast allowance was just for one. Even after several conversations with the staff this was not explained nor common sense seen. The cost of printing one A4 page is a staggering 10x Yuan more than other high end chains, nor is the internet is free, in fact it is vv costly. The swimming pool is the only think that puts it in a different category from the local youth hostel.
