Best Hotel Ever
I have been staying here for some years. I've written reviews before and now I'm doing it again because this hotel just keeps delivering the best hotel experience I have had anywhere in the world and I do travel extensively. In some respects it is quirky, but in a very nice way that makes it more endearing and my home away from home. I take this opportunity to also thank the hotel manager Serge van Vegten. You are in a class of your own. Well done!

Enjoyable Stay
Located in the heart of Xintiandi. Quite far from Pudong. Great Manager at the hotel! The room is not huge but very well appointed. If you want an intimate setting to stay, this is it. Very small lobby and no room service for food or bar.

A little oasis
We very much enjoyed our stay at 88 Xintiandi. We were booked for two nights initially, but decided we wanted to stay longer in Shanghai so we ended up staying for a week. We were able to stay in the same room the entire week, which was perfect. After a long day of photographing and traipsing about the city it was always a pleasure to come back to our little oasis. The one thing the hotel could have done better is the shower/tub combo. It just wasn't up to par. Also, I cannot say enough good about Serge, the manager. He was wonderful in making us feel so welcome and suggesting interesting places to go. Unfortunately, 88 Xintiandi will be closing it's doors at the end of July. So if you are planning on going to Shanghai between now and then, book a room at this hotel. You won't regret it. P.S. The Langham would be stupid not to hire Serge on after 88 Xintiandi closes its doors. He is a wonderful asset.

Great Boutique Hotel
If you want to be in the Xintiandi area, this is a great alternative to the larger hotels in the area. Service excellent, rooms nicely appointed, moderate costs. I enjoyed the stay.

Fantastic location..
Overall it was good stay, but their complimentary ironing offer was a bit tricky. Their laundry service paper is somehow misleading, and I got very much confused. The front desk was helpful and did not charge me for that issue, but it almost ruined my good experience there.

One of the best
We found the whole experience of staying at 88 was enjoyable. The manager, Steve, went out of his way to ensure all guests were comfortable and having the best experience possible in Shanghai with suggestions of places to visit and how to access them. It was such a pleasure to return to our room each day and be greeted by smiles from the staff, fresh fruit in our rooms and comfortable chairs to relax in. Also the adequate desk gave opportunity to plan activities and spread maps etc. The breakfast was delicious and catered for all tastes, setting us up for a great day.

Great boutique hotel for an authentic city stay
Love it here. My best kept secret in Shanghai. Service is normally great. Double check airport info on your own. Rooms need some updating. Furniture is getting shabby. I had to move my room this week due to stained furniture. Room size is great. Bed and pillows are ver comfortable. Great breakfast and lounge amenities included. Nice private gym. Manager is great and accommodating.

Awesome place in awesome location
I usually stay at the Ritz Portman and this is going to be my new place. It is not only better in location wiht all the great restaurants, shops, etc. around, but the service that this botique hotel is able to achieve is phenomonal! I am surprised it was less than the Ritz, but I guess that is the power of branding and not reflective of the quality of this place. I highly recommend.

A little gem
Fabulous hotel in the heart of Xintiandi, providing a break away from the hustle and bustle of Shanghai. Service was personal and the Manager keen to ensure all guests enjoy their stay. Breakfast outside on the terrace was a treat and a great way to start the day, rooms included all the little things. Short walk to 2 metro lines, plenty of shopping and an international supermarket nearby.

Nice Place in a Great Neighborhood
I loved the porch off of the room and the elevated bed. The fresh air in the room, and the comfortable bed were great. Lot's of great restaurants and shopping right around the hotel door. The staff knew my name as I walked up to check in. The manager was always asking if there was some way that he can help.

A great hotel in an excellent location. Very friendly staff who speak English very well. Comfortable beds and pillows and very clean rooms. A bit pricey but you get what you pay for - an oasis in Shanghai.

Great location, good hotel
With so many options in shanghai we decided to go for location and a boutique hotel. 88 fit the bill. All depends on personal taste but we moved to the four seasons in pudong and enjoyed that much better. But if you like a cosy boutique hotel with lots of Chinese antique touches you'll enjoy 88. One note - taxi drivers will have a hard time finding it. Make sure to take your hotel card to show the drivers.

Perfect location almost 5 star accommodation
This is a boutique hotel in probably the best location if you are a tourist to Shanghai. The whole experience is top notch & the only reason for not giving it 5 stars for every category is that the shower is in the bath. But the size, style & room fit out makes up for this small inadequacy. Looking forward to returning there on my next visit.

Amazing hotel in a great location.
Amazing small hotel in a fantastic location. There are so many shops and restaurants nearby and a short taxi ride will take you to most places in Shanghai. The staff are excellent and speak very good English. The manager Serge is exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful and recommended (and booked) some great bars and restaurants. The hotel itself has a great Chinese vibe, the lounge has excellent snacks and staff as well as the outdoor space. Overall a fantastic stay in vibrant Shanghai.

Excellent locations that you can find whatever that you want in shanghai, good food, shopping, wine, all within walking distance.Will definitely come back on my next trip to shanghai. Rocky, at the front desk, was very helpful is obtaining a sim card for me so that I could make calls in the PRC. The hotel is part of the somewhat hip Xintiandi retail and restaurant area. The subway is a short walk. Room was spacious with free wired and wireless internet. Great Free breakfast and free beverages available most of the day

Heart of Xintiandi
A wonderful hotel experience in every respect. The staff was courteous and attentive without being overbearing. It is a small hotel located right next to Xintiandi Style, dozens of restaurants of every kind, and within walking distance of the best parts of the former French concession. Yet somehow, it retains its quiet, hidden charm. The beds were a little stiff (more Chinese style than I am used to in a western-style hotel), but other than that it was a great getaway for me and my wife. Would recommend anytime.

Stayed here before and will stay here again. Everything works and it is close to restaurants shops and bars. Staff are very friendly, while the rooms aren't ultra modern, they are well appointed and come with some nice little touches that you will not find in leading brand hotels.

A great retreat
We had a great holiday here. We are expats living in Shanghai, so we came here for a little retreat. The service was excellent. We enjoyed all the little touches like pleasant music playing as you first enter your room, and fresh fruit delivered to your room every afternoon. The breakfast has both Chinese and Western food and they will make your coffee and eggs to order. The club lounge also offers a complimentary open bar and canapes during the afternoon and evening. The pool is at their partner hotel, about a 5 minute walk, and it is immaculate. I will be recommending this hotel to friends and associates!

Shanghai Gem
I write this reluctantly because I do not want too many people to know about this gem of a hotel. When I travel away, finding accomodation that is comfortable that I can settle into quickly and get a good nights sleep is top priority. This place is a home away from home. If you are looking for a self contained 5 star with a large lobby, bars, restaurants with a huge spread of international foods for breakfast, well appointed gym and all the trappings then go elsewhere. This is a boutique hotel after all. The staff are unobtrusive but there when you need them and very nice people. The executive lounge is useful for meetings, casual drinks and puts on an adequate breakfast with real expresso which can be hard to find in China. The rooms are well appointed and laid out. Setting up computer, work station, battery charging and the tea and coffee making facilities are simple and intuitive. The air conditioner works on an indiviual room basis and you can open the doors onto your own small balcony to let the outside air in. Great for smokers. I love this hotel and as long as they maintain some smoking rooms I'll definitely be back again.

位置方便，作为小型的高档酒店性价比不高
服务：前台和负责房务的态度都很好。但是作为一家高档酒店，早餐餐厅里的服务员态度不够积极，客人来了之后如果有套餐可点餐的话服务员应该上前介绍，但是餐厅服务员基本上都站在一边聊天。 酒店条件：房间里面条件不错各项设施都很齐备还有音响等。但是酒店门面很低调很不起眼，走进大厅如果不是看到挂着的一些获奖牌子甚至会以为走错酒店，大厅还是太简陋了，另外电梯也只是多了一层木装饰板，觉得还能做得更精致一些。 客房清洁舒适度：客房的清洁和舒适都很好，这是毋庸置疑的。只是有两点：1.住的6楼，阳台下是洋房火锅，也不算正对着酒吧了，但即使关上了两层的玻璃门还是会听到有声音，当然只是很小很小的。2.热水是电热的，酒店反应说部分房间是电热部分是煤气，我觉得作为一家高级酒店不应该让客人存在说洗着洗着头就出现没热水可用要等十几二十分钟的状况。这点非常不满，酒店表示可以换个煤气热水的房间给我，但老婆觉得麻烦不想再打包行李就没换了。 酒店位置及附近地区：酒店离新天地咫尺距离，楼下有马上诺pizza，斜对面就是我们参加的时装秀的场地，还是非常方便的。新天地基本可以满足饮食和部分购买的需求了。

満足な滞在
ビジネスで利用。新天地狙いなら、立地は抜群によいです。あいにく朝から夜遅くまで予定がびっしり入っていたので、新天地周辺を楽しめなかったのがとても残念でした。現地の関係先から「ここ、いくらで宿泊できますか？」と質問されるほど彼らにとっても気になったホテルだったよう。朝食はとてもシンプルなので、あまり期待しないほうがいいと思います。

친철한 직원들과 신천지 관광 최고의 위치
황피난루역에서 도보 7분 정도 거리에 위치해 있으며 신천지 북쪽 블럭 끝부분입니다. 신천지 중심부인지라 신천지 관광을 위해서는 최고의 위치입니다. 모든 객실 투숙객이 라운지를 이용할 수 있으며 라운지에서는 간단한 스낵과 음료를 즐길 수 있으나 큰 체인 호텔 라운지 서비스를 기대한다면 실망스럽습니다. 조용히 차한잔과 스낵 즐길 수 있을 정도이며 라운지에서의 조식도 매우 간단합니다. 호텔내에서 만난 모든 직원들이 인사를 친절하게 해주었으며 프론트 직원들 또한 친절하게 응대가 빨랐습니다. 객실은 1~2인 숙박에 충분할 정도로 넓으며 중국 전통 분위기로 꾸며져 있고 객실내에 전자렌지와 조그만 개수대가 있어 편리합니다. 다음 여행시에도 기회가 된다면 다시 숙박하고 싶네요~

가장 럭셔리한 출장경험
신천지를 테마로 한 부띠끄호텔이었습니다. 신천지역과 난징시루역의 한중간에 위치하고 신천지 딘타이펑 바로 앞이에요. 객실이 적은만큼 세심한 서비스를 받을 수 있고 아침식사 또한 충실했습니다. 상해에 혼자 출장가게되면 또 이용하고 싶습니다.

住了３天，第２天客房部發現我沒有喝過酒吧台上的茶包，於是提供了其它的茶包供我選擇。另我滿意的是連續三天都幇我把冰桶和酒桶的冰加滿！這只是我第一天的要求；三天都做到了! 早餐在３樓，有室內和室外可用餐。我前兩天都在室外用餐，餐桌上並沒有餐牌，服務員也沒有解說原來是有餐選的。我到最後—天才知道有，因為我坐在室内而只有室內餐桌上有餐牌，我才可憐的知道原來不只是只有自助吧可用！還有服務員只顧相互聊天！ 我不是很明白為何和客房部的差這麼遠？？？
