Great Hotel close to Stanford with a GREAT Pool

Posted 28-Jul-2014
Pros: POOOOOOOL!!!
Cons: Nicer front desk staff. Clearer explanation of disability access rooms
Location: Stanford. Peet's coffee. Whole foods. A very cute park in a neighborhood up the street.
I had to visit Stanford Medical Center and needed a hotel to stay at close by. This hotel was that plus so much more. The Pool was the best I have ever seen at any hotel I have stayed at. If I had to write a complaint it would be that the front desk staff seemed pre-occupied and not overly excited to help. As well as only some of the rooms you are able to get to using the elevator. I am disabled and was stuck in a room quite far from the elevator, but down to sets of stairs, so wasn't even able to use a luggage cart. When I asked for help, the person that came to help was very cheerful and gratefully obliged, but I realized he had only helped and hung around at the end to get a tip (definitely deserved a tip, but would have preferred to just be able to take the luggage cart to the room). They did wave my parking fee to make up for it, so that was wonderful. All in all, I loved the stay and will be staying here again next time I have to visit stanford.

Pros: It has atmosphere and was very upbeat.
Cons: More varied menu
Location: The location was perfect for me because it was so close to the conference I attended.
Nice place. Nostalgic but modern. Staff was really great! Only negative is that the dining room has an extremely limited menu. Food was good, but not much choice.

Pros: Nice window view facing the hill. Quiet evening and night.
Cons: Breakfast variety and price.
Location: Close to Stanford University and available public transportation to the university and Stanford shopping center. Close to Los Alto shopping center.
Relatively easy transportation access. Nice facility close to the beautiful Palo Alto Hill. Just could not find any one better than it in that area.

Pleasant stay. Hotel is dated. Partly renovated and certainly comfortable but needs further updating.

Pros: The cleanliness
Cons: Toilet paper
Location: Hobies was delicious, excellent breakfest and service
The staff were terrific and offered delicious cookies and fresh fruit upon arrival. The only thing that could have been better was the toiilt paper. It was rough, like sandpaper, ouch & thin. Other than that excellent stay

Very bad experience. I think its over priced. I think thatThe Manager and personal dont care about the guests. The room was old and dirty and outside the room was very dirty and i felt very unsafe

Great Price

Nice comfortable room for the price. The pool area was nice and would like to come back in the summer to be able to use the pool also instead of just the hot tub.

Near Stanford

We have stayed at this hotel several times. This time the hotel was under construction, which turned out to fine. It was not loud. However, the afternoon we checked into the hotel, there was a tray of dirty dishes and food outside the room next to us. When we checked out the next day the tray was still out there. It seems to me there should be someone picking this stuff up to avoid mice. I am sure this was just a staffing problem or something, as our other stays have been fine. We would stay there again.
