Near town.
Stayed here about 10years ago, thought I would come back. Very disappointed on stay when arrived staff put us up at a different location and then had a us move to their location the next night. Not good when you just traveled 13 hours. Rooms was dated, bed was hard. Thin walls can hear all around you. Stayed on the couple nights booked and moved to new location. Staff ready to shove you out the door at 10 am check out time. Not impressed and would not stay again.

The young lady was very amazing so happy and welcoming, always ready to serve you at anytime. Did not speak much english but try her best to help and make our trip a great one. I would recommend this place to any of my friends because we had a great time there and the company was an amazing one.

The staff in this newly remodeled location were friendly and helpful. However, the room and bed were quite small, and the walls were thin (lots of noise from the sitting room out front). Otherwise, this was a good (if slightly hard to find) location from which to explore Rome by foot.

Quiet neighborhood, noisy hotel
First off, this has to be the single noisiest Pensione I've stayed at in Italy—which is saying something. The pensione occupants themselves are very quiet but the inner courtyard neighbors are very noisy. You can hear everyone's business through your shutters (which you need to keep open for fresh air) all the time. Coughs, conversations—someone was running what sounded like a power saw at midnight! You hear it all. Very loud. The bed was okay comfort-wise but I'd recommend a couple of the free samples of Limoncello around town before hitting the hay at night, it'll help. Or earplugs. The noise/conversations/TVs didn't stop until about 2:30 am. The room itself is 2 star. It was fine. BUT they've duplicated the keys so many times that it's difficult to open your door and on one occasion I got locked in my room. That's right, locked in my room. And since there's no on on staff at the hotel aside from day time check in hours, I had to take apart my hotel room lock with my fingernail clippers just to get out of my room. Thank God I had them! I got numerous bites—good sized ones—on my body while sleeping there. I attribute this to mosquitoes that get in the room through the open shutters. I'm actually still trying to get rid of the bites. You're a few blocks away from a cluster of shops and restaurants, which is good and about 500 (or less) away from the subway stop of Lepanto—which is very, very handy and why I stayed here. Would I do it again? No. I think you can do better.

Great spot!
Amazing spot. The place is conveniently located directly in front of a major Metro station and there are plenty of busses nearby. Plus you can walk to the Vatican in just a few minutes. Also lots of restaurants, grocery stores, etc nearby. The service was AMAZING. The front staff was extremely friendly and accommodating to our needs. The Wifi was included and worked very well! Only minor complaint was that it was kind of hidden and not easy to find, signage was at a minimum once in the main complex.

Lady on reception was so helpful and friendly, went out of her way to help, excellent service. It is on the 3rd floor of a large building which had other similar guest houses (I think they called them) as well as doctors and I think some residential flats also. They have a very small reception area & then a number of rooms, I'm not sure how many as we were next to the reception, but I would say maybe 8. Our room was clean, had a large double bed and a single bed, both comfortable, ceiling fan which was great as it was very hot. Not loads of space but we only used it to change and sleep so wasn't a problem for us. Bathroom was clean, shower a little small. It was right next the the Lepanto stop on the Metro A line, which was great. 5 stops to termini station, 1 stop to Vatican City, 2 stops to Spanish steps. If u walk down to the main st probably 5 mins away there are a number of shops, restaurants, supermarkets etc. A fair price for a budget holiday, clean, good location. The only bad thing I can say is that the towels weren't changed but I'm certain we had asked we would have got clean ones. I would stay here again :)

No more than expected
The girl at the front desk was quite short with us a few times. Our key broke in the door trying to get in one night and there's no one at the desk after 9, luckily another hotel guest let us on. When we told her about it the next day she was unkind about it although it sounds like it's a reoccurring issue - not good. The hotel its self was alright no AC Though so very hot at night. The location was good! Not more than a 20 min walk into Rome or to the Vatican.

Poor facilities, staff unfriendly and unhelpful
I'm afraid we had a very poor experience: we knew that facilities would be basic and were prepared to live with that, but too many things made us regret staying at this pensione. The worst was the day staff: the main person in charge was rude and unhelpful from the moment we arrived and for the whole 4 days of our stay. The very small shower/toilet room had no window and the aspirator on the ceiling was broken: I reported that on the first day, they mumbled something about having it fixed but that didn't happen; the shower-head was only half-working and it was spurting water irregularly - it was also fixed on the wall, probably it was a good 20-30 years old. They don't change towels so be prepared to use the same ones for all your stay. Wi-fi doesn't reach the rooms so one has to stay at the microscopic reception to log in and use the internet. The rooms overlook the internal courtyard of the very large building where the pension is located: lots of other residents and businesses are all around so sometimes it was really noisy early in the morning. All in all disappointing, most of all the service and the treatment.

room only stay here for 5 nights. Several choices nearby for breakfast Cafe and so many wonderful other places for evening meals in Rome. Very close to a Metro station making it easy to visit lots of sights and shopping areas. Second stay here now so it must be good !

Lovely hotel, great location next to the metro stop & within walking distance of all the main attractions. All the staff were fantastic, really helpful & friendly.

I loved this hotel
I stayed here 2 nights and can't wait to go back. The room was very clean and comfortable, as were the bathroom and shower (shared). The staff (Michele, Maria, and Kyaw) were beyond friendly and willing to help with directions. The metro is right outside for easy access to the city. It's also a 10-15 min walk to St. Peter's Basilica.

Nice hotel in Rome
We arrived late as our flight arrived at night, around 7:30 pm, so we arrived at the hotel close to 10 pm. As the hotel was advised of our late arrival, we were gladly received. Pensione Paradise is located in a condo type building. It owns several units in the building which was converted into "hotel" units. It was good enough for us, budget travellers. The elevator was fascinating. But it fits only 3 people. As there were 5 of us, my daughter and I decided to tackle the stairs and let my husband, who had sore feet, and my sons, with our baggage to go into the elevator. The number was confusing but we found it quickly. The hotel was close to some eating places and we liked that because we didn't want to do any more walking. I was happy that the Metro train station was really close by, as we were nearing the last leg of our journey and we've been spending our vacation roaming the streets of the great cities of Europe. In other words, we're tired walking. So it was great that this hotel is close by the train station. The hotel staff were good, nice and friendly. When one is new to a place, it is like home when one finds staff that are friendly and helpful. The rooms were reasonable clean and comfortable. We were able to sleep soundly and peacefully. I did not hear any complaints from anyone in my family.

Great location!
It's a building with many different businesses in it, 1 of which was a hotel service. The elevator was supper small, allowing for room for 2 passengers and light luggage only. The front desk girl was quick to point out that online listing services made mistakes in describing the occupancy as dual occupants, when in fact it's 1 bed, "European size" which is slightly smaller than a US full size, but bigger than a twin. The room itself was tiny. And fitted sheets would have been nice, being that flat sheets untuck, exposing the mattress. There was mildew in the showers, the bathroom smelled worse after their "cleaning" than before on account that they might just wipe things down with a wet dirty rag and mop with no cleaning solutions. And the toilet never worked properly; probably ancient piping. But there are definitely positive things to say about this hotel, especially for the price! LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION. If you are seeing Rome on a budget, we found this to be a great play to set up camp. We were 1 block away from the metro, which takes your EVERYWHERE in Rome. Also, there were unlimited eateries within walking distance of this hotel, which were priced quite reasonably, compared to the more touristy places. This hotel is also just walking distance to the Vatican, and many other major Roman attractions. In summary, if you just need a bed, a shower, and a place to put your clothes, give this hotel consideration!

The hotel staff is very friendly n helpful. The room is clean and comfortable. Maybe our room is far from the reception, so the Internet connection failed. Overall the price is reasonable and we are satisfied with our stay here.

Reasonable Price for Rome
Room was small but clean. Bed was firm but was comfortable. Access a bit confusing as it is in a multi-purpose building. Front door is locked and requires ringing appropriate bell for access. There are a few steps to the elevator. Building actually has a small courtyard and need to find the right elevator for access. Rooms are on the 3rd floor. Elevators are small - could probably accomodate 4 persons. Staff were friendly and helpful and spoke English. Bus and subway services located at front door. We chose to walk 20-25 minutes to the Vatican where we caught the hop-on hop-off bus services. We found good food and other services in the area. Double-pane windows did a good job of keeping noise from the street out.

Double booked
When we arrived at the hotel we were double booked despite having booked in November. The receptionist was very helpful and did what he could to place us in a room however we had a lot of waiting around and missed dinner with friends that we haven't seen in many years. We were told we would have a discount for the confusion but when it came to paying the bill the receptionist on duty argued this and told us their would be no discount. That chap was very rude and told us that the first receptionist had no right to offer the discount. Not a nice way to end the trip.

My two kids and I were in the hotel around midnight and out the next morning by 8am. The location was conveniently in the area of the Vatican which is where our tour group was meeting. The hotel was perfect for our needs -- a bed and a hot shower. We were able to shut the windows and shutters to cut the street noise and light. I would recommend this hotel if you are more interested in seeing Rome than hanging out in your hotel room.

Great place to stay. 2 minutes from the metro then a 5 minute journey to the centre. 10 minute walk to the vatican. Staff were helpful and pleasant. Room was just a basic bed and bathroom but was exactly how it was described and all that was needed. Room was cleaned everyday. Couldn't rate it higher and unless you feel like going 5 star then this is the place to stay! 5/5

Pros: 1. Friendly and helpful staff. 2.Close to Vatican. 3. Very reasonable for anything in Rome in High Season, which makes this better than a hostel as you get private rooms. 4. Near some Shopping Streets. Cons: 1.Not in centre of Rome and restricted to the 23:30 Metro and the 00:00 Bus curfew. If you miss these, then you Must walk 'home' or take a taxi. 2. Stayed for 3 days. On day one and three, we were given toiletries and towels, but not on the second day though.

The room itself was very small that it was difficult to spend time in. The location however was excellent. Right next to St. Peters, it was convient and in a great neighborhood with museums surrounding. If you are only in Rome for a few nights this is the place to stay. The people are nice and helpful. The wifi however can only be used at the desk of the hotel. Everything else was great.

Great Budget Hotel
We were really impressed with this hotel. It exceeded our expectations as we got quite a cheap rate. It was very clean and all the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. There is a metro station and bus stop right outside the door and you can easily walk to many of the major sites. People should bear in mind that it is basic and there aren't many facilities (no phone, minibar, safe etc). This didn't bother us though...would definitely stay there again.

We were very lucky to be able to book a room here at the very last minute. Overall, the place is very neat and able to meet all our needs. Wifi, heat, hot water and TV all working fine. Friendly reception. A definite recommend this one is.

"The Price is Right"
The staff at the Paradise were more than accommodating in that we had a last minute change in plans and one of our group wound up sick and needed a separate room. The staff went above and beyond. The Paradise is a short walk to the Vatican and if you are up to it, an easy walk to most other major attractions. Well worth the price of the room. Make sure to ask for directions or suggestions to any sites or attractions - the staff know how to get you there. I look forward to the day when I return to Rome and will for sure stay at the Paradise again. Great little coffee shops/bakeries just around the corner as well as an ideal little supermarket about two blocks away. Easy to find great restaurants within a short walk.

This place is fine if you're on a budget
All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Some nice cafes in pizzerias in the neighbourhood. Must take the metro or bus into town. This pensione is a bit old and worn down but will work if you're on a budget in Rome. Recommend getting a room with ensuite bath. Our biggest complaint is that the carpet in the room was very worn and dirty - it was actually sticky. Also to note that Internet can only be used in the front lobby.

Small hotel, very nice location!
This hotel was very tiny, on the 3ed floor of a building. The rooms are also very tiny but very clean. We had to share a bathroom with several other rooms but the bathroom was also very clean and there was a sink in each bedroom. Safe, all doors lock. Excelent location, only a 5-10 minute walk to the Vatican. Good restraunts in the area and very friendly staff! Lastly, it is an excelent price! I would higly recomend.

Good value for money. Near to city centre, close (only 1 block) to bus & metro, bars and supermarket around the corner. Super friendly host Francesca makes you feel at ease. We had the Premium Quadruple airconditioned room, which met our expectations for 5 nights sleep and afternoon naps. When in Rome, will certainly book again.

Vicino alla fermata della metropolitana Lepanto. A 20 minuti a piedi da Piazza San Pietro. Stanza e bagno di dimensioni confortevoli e sistema di chiusura porte all'avanguardia, che ti consente di non avere chiavi in tasca. Peccato per la pulizia e l'usura dei mobili.

ti ho aspettato anche se avevi perso il diritto alla prenotazione perchè il mio check in chiude alle 13.30 e ti sei presentato alle 21 e ti ho fatto entrare !!!le luci si accendono tirando un cordino e non le hai sapute accendere sei arrivato per 4 giorni senza bagaglio e mi dici che la camera puzza di fogna ... sicuro che fosse la camera ? ti ho anche incontrato e mi hai detto che andava tutto bene salutiFrancesca
