“Excellent location, 2 mins from Spanish Steps and bus stop, 10 mins from Trevi Fountain”

The hotel was in a very good location, near all the sights. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were a fair size, with a nice shower, aircon, lovely big windows, hairdryer and Sky TV. The hotel could do with a little TLC, but for the price, it was excellent. There was also a lovely terrace to eat breakfast on. I've put my money in the Trevi Fountain to make sure I return!

“Superb position and quiet”

Superb quiet position just 2 minutes walk to top of Spanish Steps, 10 minutes to Trevi Fountain. Good restaurants, cafes and bars in the same street.Metro Barberini is one minute walk..4 Euros for a day pass includes all buses. Hotel staff very helpful, very good breakfast till 1030. Room a bit shabby and in need of decoration but perfectly acceptable. Bed a little hard. Very efficient air conditioning. Would recommend for the position and price alone...and convenient flights from London City Airport via Zurich on Swissair.

“Great no frills accommodation”

No complains about the hotel or the service during my 1 week stay. Decent no frills hotel - had everything I was looking for - bed, breakfast, air conditioning and free wi-fi. Not forgetting a lift for tired feet at the end of a long day's sightseeing. :-) Not the newest hotel but it was clean and tidy with helpful English speaking staff. 24 hour reception cover so always someone available if you arrive late or need assistance.

“Great location”

The location is superb, staff friendly and room clean. Hotel old and therefore a bit dated and tired but its central location makes up for that. I would recommend it for value for money.

“Not for families”

Would of liked to have a kettle in the room or somewhere in the hotel to get a drink other than at breakfast. Bar opens at 6.30 and was closed when my sister Nd I came back from our evening meal around 10 ish. That was disappointing.

“Great on a budget”

I chose this hotel as it was centrally located for walking around Rome (literally minutes away from Spanish steps and Tevi Fountain) as well as being close to the Metro for easy transfer to the Termini (for the excellent Leonardo Express train to/from Fiumicino airport). It's fair to say that the rooms are very basic with limited facilities, but this was exactly what I was expecting and wanted as I would be out & about most of the time. However, if you are expecting more, then this is NOT the place for you. The staff were very helpful, recommending a great local restaurant (il giardino di albino - authentic cuisine and very good price).

“Convenient hotel for seeing the sights of Rome”

This hotel is located in a very touristy area of Rome. It is a few steps away from the Tivoli fountain and is about a 30 second walk from the Metro stop Barberini which is also the stop for the Trevi fountain. The area is well lit, and the cafes seem be open 24/7 as there is a constant flow of tourists to keep them going. Buses run through the area 24 hours a day and taxis are abundant around the fountain if needed. The restaurants that I tried in the area were a bit pricey but the food was excellent. The staff at the hotel were friendly, and even though the entrance to the hotel is not grand it is a well kept modern hotel. The elevator works, the hallways were clean and the carpeted areas were not worn out. The bar on the first floor had spacious sofas and the barman was happy to allow me to stay in there sending emails on my laptop long after he had closed the bar and left. I didn't eat in the bar as the restaurants of Rome were too tempting. However the breakfast was continental - croissants or toast and excellent coffee. Cereal and juices were available too. The single room I stayed in was clean with a working A/c and heating. The windows had external blinds which were easy to operate. The toilet was cleaned daily, the shower had hot water, and the bed was comfortable. There was a safe in the room and a closet. The free WiFi Internet worked in my room on the fourth floor even though I was told it might not, the connection was good. Would happily stay here again.

“Affordable hotel with easy access to railway station”

Rooms were fairly large and clean although the decor was a bit outdated. Surrounding area wasn't that nice but we only needed it for a quick stop over near the railway station and for that purpose it was perfect.

“Visit to Rome”

During our 4 night stay at Hotel King we found the staff very helpful and friendly. The general tidiness and cleaning of the hotel was quite good but was spoilt wall covering in the bedroom that very tired and looked quite dirty. In the En-suite room the bathroom suit were odd some pink and some white and in need of replacement, the tiles on both walls and floor were patched with odd tiles and not well grouted making cleaning for staff difficult. The location of the hotel was brilliant for access to most of the attractions and restaurants.

“Hotel is just ok but location is perfect!”

Hotel King is well placed to see around Roma. It is within walking distance to see all attractions. We bought hop on/hop off bus ticket on the first day and on the 2nd, we walked around. Vatican to Trevi is just short 20min. Hotel is 3min away from the Spanish Steps and 5min to Trevi Fountain. What I disliked was the quality of the hotel. There were mould in the shower cubicle and and the patio door was also a bit mouldy. The room had a nice balcony but you wouldn't dare sit on the chair outside as it is a bit rusty. We were on the 3rd floor and it strongly smells of cigarrett although it is meant to be a non-smoking floor. B'fast is continental, meaning lots of bread, cereal, ham and cheese. For what it's worth, I s'pose you get what you pay for. We only needed the rooms to sleep in anyways so the state of it didn't matter too much. Also probably because we only stayed for 2nights. Anything longer than that, I would probably choose a nicer hotel. Will I come back to hotel? Yes, especially if on a budget.
