The room was simple, but clean. WiFi was not up to par. My connections continuously dropped due to weak signals. The mattress was in need of replacement. It was uneven, with very noticeable craters in areas. This is bad on my back

Rooms were decent, not extravagant but they were cool for our stay. Elevators are tiny!!! No pool and extras but our basics were met.

This hotel is a “get what you pay for”. I stayed in 3 different rooms over my 3 week trip. Each room had dirty curtains and chipped floors and walls and needed a makeover. For clarification they were all their budget rooms so I can’t speak for the state of the more expensive rooms. It’s a good location. Close to beach. Lots of food options nearby. Would I stay here again? Probably if I wanted a budget option.

Just the right place
It was the perfect room for a solo traveller on a budget. Very clean and upgraded. Very simple but had everything I needed. The front desk staff were extremely helpful and responsive to all my questions

Great location. About a 5 minute walk to the beach and surrounded by several restaurants, an ATM and a few shops. The rooms are small and tight. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were well used and flat. The AC took hours to reach a comfortable temperature. Bathroom was tiny but there was always hot water. Breakfast was great. Personally I found all the front staff borderline unfriendly and unhelpful. They spoke English and Spanish in addition to Portuguese but appeared disinterested in helping. However other staff were really pleasant. Overall I'd recommended this hotel if you just need a place to sleep and shower and want to be by the beach.

I am a solo female traveler and was a bit nervous about finding a good stay in Rio. The hotel had a good location and I always felt safe. Simple amenities but it had all I needed and the staff was very helpful helping me find my way around and even football tickets.

the hotel was old not well maintained ,my wife from rio was not allowed to come up to my room and just grab anything from the room because I did not pay for here and they say sex tourism is the trouble but they saw her everyday for two weeks .the hotel was lower scale than I have ever been in.DONT STAY HERE

Not the best hotel in Rio, but it does the job. Especially thanks to the great location. If possible, don't book the single room, its too small.

Clean, quiet n affordable
Received a very warm welcome on arrival. Assisted with luggage to room. Staff were very helpful. Room decore is dated, but very clean, quiet, comfortable n affordable. Buffet breakfast was an unexpected bonus.

Hotel was very good for the price. Location was fantastic. Short walk to the beach. Plenty of restaurants close by. Some noise in the neighbourhood, despite being on fifth floor, but not too bad

this hotel has a fantastic location,plenty eating places within a stroll of the hotel,a short walk to the beach,seconds away from bus stops and about 500mtr away from metro station,rooms are clean,comfortable and affordable. breakfast is a basic buffet that most people would enjoy. you could probably find a few things to complain about if you have very high expectations but my summary would be basic but good

Quite nice for a Rio visit
Great location, with access and connections to all major sights. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and maintained, although some chipped spots appear over the tiles. Breakfast is good too. This hotel is in the middle of a busy, around the clock running city, so do not expect quiet and restful environment. A variety of shops, diners and restaurants, provide you with plenty of options to choose. The beach is at just 5 min. walking distance.

Excelent price and location!
I stayed two nights. Perfect for someone who is planning to stay at the hotel only to sleep. Close to everything: beach, restaurants, buses, taxis, Van to Cristo Redentor, etc. Good value for the price paid.

Has everything what you need. Air conditioning, a bed, a bathroom, wifi ... the breakfast is very simply. Place is safe, the stuff is friendly (also english speaking) and the rooms are clean. Beach is only two streets away, also the subway. On the other street side it has a shop with delicious fruit drinks and good food.

Good location. Easy access to everything. Safe neighborhood area. Breakfast is not fancy but to me is satisfactory. Rooms are small but for price in that location, it is a good value for the money. I have booked the hotel again for my stay when I return from Iguacu.

Good if you're staying just a couple of days.
The staff is one of the most wonderful I have ever met, they help you in all possible ways. It has a nice location near the beach and it's not expensive. Although it looks great in photo, the real hotel has a small elevator, pretty stretch hallway and the rooms are very very small. The bathroom is clean but looks old and very ugly. If you're planning to stay for a couple of days (like I did) or don't care about how the room looks, go for it. If you want to stay more days or if you're going for something romantic, spend some more and go to another hotel.

Amazing Location and Hotel
This is the perfect hotel to stay at while in Rio. Perfectly situated, about 2 blocks from the Copacobana beach and easy 2/3 min taxi drive to Ipanema beach. Safe neighbourhood to walk in at night and lots of food places. The hotel rooms are very clean and comfortable, room service everyday (if you want). You may want to learn a few basic Portuguese phrases or get an offline dictionary as not everyone working at the hotel speaks perfect english, but all very friendly and helpful.

I would recommend to my friends!
The hotel was nice, clean and close to everything I wanted to visit. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was awesome! There is a Big Bi juice bar across the road and the beach was just two blocks away. Banks, post office and shops were just a short stroll too ... I would recommend this to anyone coming to Rio for a short break.

Comfortable stay
Had a very comfortable stay in Apa hotel. I arrived at 6am after a long ride on overnight bus. The staff was so nice to let me have a room immediately to relax and catch up some sleep. This is not a luxury hotel but I feel at home with their balcony and bed is comfy. Another plus is it's super clean, praise for the staff who maintain this aged hotel so well. Breakfast, however, tend to be rather basic.

I had a three day stay March 2014, and found everyone I came in contact with very helpful. The front desk, doormen, and breakfast staff, all were great people, and always willing to be of service. My room and bath were nice size, and I enjoyed the balcony. The mini bar worked very well and large enough for all my water and juice. There is one thing I wish the hotel would reconsider; providing an iron & board. The location was only two blocks from the beach. The location also offered shopping, all types of places to eat, corner stores for snacks, and a larger market all within 3-4 block walk. If you branch out a few more blocks the above options would be even greater, plus you will be able to observe daily life of the locals. Meter cabs are every where and easy to catch. There is a metro station near by, and city buses to the other beaches run past the hotel every 2-3 mins. I like to walk, and found the area to be safe. Bus line 2018 will take you from the airport to the Copacabana Palace Hotel (you should ask the driver to stop there). Then it is one block south, two blocks west, and you are at the front door. The cost is R$13.5 one way. The ride is 90 mins long. ONLY exchange what money you may need to get to your hotel at the airport ONLY. The rates are much better at the money exchange found on the street. On my next Stay in Rio, I plan to stay at the APA Hotel because of their rate, service, and willingness to be helpful.

Lowest Cost in Prime Location
Very small room is okay if you are not spending a lot of time in it. With Copacabana outside and the beach nearby, no reason to spend time in the room.
