“Excellent value”

Booked two rooms for one night in August 2010. The hotel was excellent value for money - very good breakfast, providing the four of us with everything we wanted and more. The rooms were spotless with great bathrooms. We were not disturbed at all despite the proximity of the road and airport. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

“Great value hotel!”

Spent one night at the Hoilday Inn Express at Minister. For a budget hotel it really had everything that was needed and was of a quality that many more expensive hotels we have stayed in, have lacked. The room was a good size, had a separate couch. Air conditioning worked well (had to slide the switch to set it, with one of our keys, as the knob had broken, but once that was done it worked fine). Thermostatically controlled shower (and it was one that could be hand held- ie not a fixed shower) with a good size cubicle. The self service buffet breakfast included in the price was more than adequate, but some will find there isn't much choice of cooked food- sausage, scrambled egg and beans. The croissant I had was yummy -crisp on the outside and soft in the centre! Room was clean, bed comfortable and the choice of a soft or firm pillow was very welcome. Staff at the check in and out were pleasant. We could have eaten in the hotel at night, but chose to walk to the Smugglers Retreat pub / restaurant about 100m away on the same site, (there is also a Premier Inn on the site), and had a very good pub meal. Ok the hotel is not a picturesque place to stay in during the day, being right on a road junction (but we heard no road noise), but as an overnight stop, business trip or a base for touring would be ideal. Would definitely return. It is not that far from the ferry ports and is a good stopover.

“Excellent value.”

The hotel is an excellent base for easy motor access to all surrounding towns and the ferry ports. Don't expect the Ritz, but it is clean, modern, friendly and cheerful. All extra requests were met with a smile and were immediately acted upon.

“give it a try”

Good location if you traveling from dover or ramsgate without all the hastle, easy to locate from A2/M2, plenty of parking space all areas clean and well presented breakfast included was o k and enough choice for the onward journey. Will stay again if they don't go silly with prices.

“Exactly what we needed”

We booked this hotel for location, budget, and because we needed to bring our dog. Upon arrival, we weren't entirely impressed with the exterior; however, inside it was everything we asked for. Clean, modern, comfortable, and welcoming of our dog. Great value for money. And the breakfast was nice as well. For a great coastal walk, we recommend Broadstairs.

“Great hotel for anyone”

The outside of the hotel looked rather uninviting as there was litter everywhere and it looked very neglected, but on entering the foyer we were pleasantly surprised to see it was immaculate inside. What a contrast, the place looked and smelt so clean and fresh, and so was our room which we changed from the original booking without any problem. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, so I cannot praise this hotel too highly, and the price was very reasonable. Quite a nice choice for breakfast also, although described as continental, it did have some hot items including scrambled eggs, sausages and beans as well. Would definately recommend it. The one thing I would recommend is that there is more information on their website to direct guests to the entrance as it is easily missed, and once that happens it is a long drive past to the nearest turn round to go back.

“Would stay here again.”

Brilliant value for money, we stayed because we were attending a wedding nearby, could not fault it at all. Breakfast offered everything you could want from fruit, cereal, eggs beans sausage, toast, yogurt and croissants. Rooms were spacious with nice large powerful shower. Looks a little shabby when you drive up but the internal decor etc more than made up for it.

“Just what we needed”

The hotel is rather isolated, but not too far to restauants and shopping. However, you need a car. Reception, staff, rooms etc were all very good. The only negative was the breakfast. Had to wait for items to be replenished.
