Lovely heritage hotel and endearing staff who made you feel at home. The Harbor View is a bit of a misnomer as the harbor has been eclipsed by a transportation hub, so the main view is of a bus station. Harbor View rooms are at the front of the hotel, which is also the sunny side, so get very warm on nice days and the hotel does not have air conditioning in the rooms ( only common areas). Breakfast was excellent.

Phenomenal location! Although my room overlooked the waterfront and its busy street, the room was remarkably quiet! Still not sure how that worked... Everything was great, and Portsmouth might be my favorite city in England so far! Would absolutely like to return, and Ship Leopard would definitely be my first choice for accommodations.

Great location but would not class this as a boutique hotel. The two staff I saw were very pleasant. Room was very hot and you are unable to open the window but there was a fan available in room. There was no hair dryer in our room which I would expect for £120 a night.

Perfect location close to station and dockyard with safe car parking close by. Our room had a seating area with TV away from the bed so one could watch while the other rested. This was a big plus.

Was a very pleasant stay. We had one night in Portsmouth before we went to the Isle of Wight. The room was lovely and the staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome.

The room was basic and a little tired . It needs more options with the tea tray (bottled water) . And a safer place for it . Windows very draffy didnt close properly felt it wasnt worth the money they were charging .yes we had a sea veiw which was lovely and how it was advertised. Breakfast was disappointing. Need better quality sausages, fried bread socked in fat . Serves when we arrived very friendly and polite. Very clean social aeras . And parking very easy to find .

An excellent stay.
Superb location, opposite harbour and just 2 minutes walk from Dockyard entrance. Also a few minutes walk from a wide selection of places to eat. It was great to have free secure parking behind hotel. Easy check in and loved the free upgrade offered to a larger harbour view room. Room clean and well decorated with a smashing shower. Excellent breakfast. All staff pleasant and helpful.

Room was good but the furniture was a bit tired. Thinnest pillows I’ve ever slept on. Staff were excellent especially Jeremy and John. Nice hotel would stay again if in area.

Just stones throw from HMS Warrior, the historical dockyard, Gosport ferry and Gunwharf etc., the Ship Leopard hotel is perfectly located, and a very comfortable. The hotel car park is spacious, convenient and easy to access. Overall, an excellent place to stay.

Lovely little hotel
We stayed for 3 days sunday to wednesday,and were cery pleased with the hotel. The room(24) was the Superuor suite and was lovely and spacious,very clean and had amazing views of the harbour. Tea coffee and biscuits were topped up daily. There was a choice of breakfasts hot or cold, we opted for full english! The car park is great as it is right next to the hotel, and very safe. The location is fantastic for the naval dockyard and museums, and gunwharf keys. Keep in mind there is a bus and rail exchange oposite, but we didnt find it noisy so we were ok. All in all i would stay here again.

Location excellent for HMS Victory, Royal Navy Base and Gunwharf shopping. Safe locked car park. Room was lovely overlooking the sea and very tastefully decorated. Breakfast was superb.

We stayed for 3 nights for a mid week break, and loved staying here! Secure car parking, also right across the road from the bus and train stations, and Gosport ferry. A 5 minute walk to Portsmouth Harbour Historic dockyard, and Gunwharf Quays a similar distance the other way. The room was comfortable and clean. A good selection for breakfast. All staff were friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend staying here!

Better than Southampton for pre-cruise. stay.
Pre cruise 2 day stay. Location is very convenient to train station, main tourist sites, restaurants, pubs and shopping. Room size was large with small bathroom. Towels were luxurious. View of bay nice. The included traditional English breakfast was good and served in nice setting. No place in shower to set anything. Staff was helpful. Bed was comfortable. Good value and we would stay again.

Excellent location and friendly staff. Huge bedroom and bathroom which was very comfortable. The breakfast was OK - we have had worse but not super-yummy either. I am not sure one could describe it as a "boutique" hotel.
