I have booked Hotel Jen Penang Georgetown via Experia. I was also asked and agreed to take the option of early check-in, paying RM118 for this option by Jen Penang. When I check-in at about 11.00am, I was given a room with a King sized bed. When I told the Front desk lady that I booked a deluxe twin room, she insisted that what is being shown in her system is a king sized bed room. When I asked for a change to a deluxe twin room, she insisted that the king sized bed room is what I have booked. So, I took the king sized bed room but upon using the wash basin to wash my hand, the wash basin was choked and water cannot drained off. I asked for a technician to repair and the technician was good and arrived within ten minutes. The water choke was cleared after he fixed the screw to the drainage lifter for water to drain off. Then I took out my hard copy of confirmed room booking at Jen Penang to the same lady at the Front desk. Now, she cannot insisted that I have booked a king sized bed room and agreed to change my room to a twin room after 4 pm. I am frustrated and disappointed as to why a twin room was not prepared for me since my early check-in was approved, confirmed and paid for before my stay on 22 March 2024. My first impression of Jen Penang was and is poor customer service at the Front Desk. After getting the correct room after 5pm, every other services are good, from housekeeping, breakfast service, concierge, etc.
