This is not a 4 star hotel. The single elevator is always busy in particular because it is shared with the maids who lock the elevator when they need it (so nobody can use it). I had to take the stairs to the 6th floor several times. This is unacceptable !

Great hotel!
Amazing! Great location near lots of shops, restaurant, and bakeries. About a 30 minute walk from the Eiffel tower room was clean, the bed was comfortable, unlike the other review, said the elevator is the smallest one I have ever been in,, so be prepared to do more than one trip if you have more than one piece of luggage. Also, to mention our room had a safe, which was very handy would gladly recommend!

Definitely recommend
I truly loved everything about this hotel.Its on the heart of Paris,France.Its nearby & close to a lot of tourists places.What made the experience staying in this hotel even better was the amazing customer service.My first night coming to Paris I was exhausted coming from a flight from Barcelona.I didn’t check in until late evening.Since I was traveling solo I got upgraded to a bigger room & got breakfast for free for the same price I paid through hotels.com.I’ll definitely be coming back to this hotel when I visit Paris again.

We thought it was a very nicely located hotel. The man that checked us in was very friendly and recommended some nice places to eat on our first night. However, if you are a light sleeper. The walls are like paper when other are in their rooms/come back to their rooms. Also, if staying over the weekend and in a room at the front of the property, you may find the sounds similar to a nightclub, coming from an apartment across the road which went on until 3am. Obviously, you could get this anywhere, and we were unfortunate. It’s not the hotel’s fault. I would have mentioned on check out 12/10/19, but the receptionist didn’t ask us how our stay was, so I couldn’t be bothered.

Overall quite a pleasing stay. The escalator is small to fit in two persons but I Guess no harm taking stairs. Quite accessible to most of the places.

+ the room had all the necessary facilities - The room was too small. The walls are very thin and could hear our neighbours. Otherwise it is fine for a short stay ( we stayed for one night)

This was a wonderful little boutique hotel. 25 mins from the Eiffel tower, one block from a metro station and many cafes and restaurants close by. The only small issue is the walls are thin. we heard our neighbors (though they were very loud) and you can hear people walking above.

We have stayed at Hotel Val Girard before and we had another excellent stay. We were able to check into our room early and that allowed us to get some sleep in after a long day of flying. Our room was very clean and the air conditioning during the heat wave was a real plus. This hotel is a bit of a walk from the sights, but has a metro station close by if you don't want to walk. We highly recommend this hotel.

Lovely staff, great location. Clean rooms, average size room for Paris standards, bathroom was very nice. Fully working A/C was a real treat during the heat wave. Breakfast at €15 is pricey considering most are 10-11. The hotel is overly concerned about lost keys and they really want you to drop it off at the front desk. Then when you return to the hotel, you state your room number, I mean we could be anybody (they need to seriously re-think this policy for security). Lots of good eating options close by, metro station only 5 minute walk. Aside from the key situation, we'd happily stay here again when visiting Paris.

Rooms were of a good size for a Paris hotel and very clean and functional. Breakfast was much better than the space available suggested it might be. No English channel on the TV. Location may not suit all travellers.

No flexibility, neighborhood with no nightlife
I booked prepaid over a French holiday, several hotels were booked over this timeframe. Val Girard would not work with Hotels.com and I when a change of travel plans come up...forcing extra train rides and expense on us. And the hotel has those terrible two single beds they push together into one...not couple friendly. Also, limited night life in this area if you are looking for this. One plus is the hotel did offer an airport shuttle (on departure at least, not sure about arrivals).

Very nice tourist hotel
This is a very comfortable tourist type hotel in a very comfortable Paris neighborhood. The location is on the 12th train line and is great for seeing the sights. Staff was fine, not exceptional. If you have a few days in Paris this is a fine choice.

Great location! Takes 25 mins to walk to the Eiffel Tower. From the entrance of the hotel you can see the tower light up. The hotel is very clean actually it’s spotless. My only complaint was that the day we got there the elevator was not working and it didn’t work for the entire stay we were there. This made it very difficult as our daughter had leg pains and we were on the fourth floor. Also, I wasn’t comfortable with leaving the key at the front desk when we had to leave the room. The staff are extremely helpful eager to make your stay pleasant. I would highly recommend this hotel but make sure that the elevator is working. I emailed the hotel several days before checking in to arrange for a shuttle to pick us up from the airport but did not receive an email back. I did speak to the hotel manager about this. They do offer a hotel shuttle which is the same price as a private taxi so you may want to consider that.

It had a great view to the eiffel tower, but the elevator broke the first day. We had to use the stairs up to the 6th floor during our stay for 4 days. It was exhausting goinf thr stairs after longs walks during our stays.

the hotel is centrally located less than 5 minutes walk to the metro train station. it is in a quiet neighborhood with local restaurants and shops close by. All the staff speak and understand english and very helpful. they are all accommodating to our needs. Our room is clean and the bathroom is clean as well. my only issue is minor, and that is not getting our daily butter cookies and no daily supply of bar soap. Overall a good experience and will stay there again when we go back to Paris.
