the staffs were unbelievably rude and very unprofessional.
1) the room was not ready when we arrived after 3 pm, and nobody at the reception desk even tried to apologize or explain the situation. they just showed in every way possible that they were very unpleased that we were surprised at what was going on.
2) we were simply told to wait, with one of the staffs responding, “we have these many rooms and how are we supposed to clean all the room in time”.
3) another unpleasant surprise was that it wasn’t just our room they didn’t get to clean in time; the public restroom in the lobby was also very unclean (—looked like one of the public toilettes on the streets in Paris).
4) we didnt get to receive any of the vip benefits described on the expedia website. i understand the room upgrade and late checkout would depend on the situation, but the hotel didn’t give us the free drinks either.
5) the room was extremely small, which i am not complaining about but it’d help to know before making a reservation that with three twin beds, one very small desk, and an invisibly tiny stool, there was not much space left so when one person wanted to move, the other two had to stay on their beds. (and please know all three of our family are relatively slender.)
6) the entire space (=the bedroom and the bathroom) smelled like a combination of a couple of different chemical disinfectants.
7) the walls were so thin that you could hear everything from the other rooms.
