Ok, but not 4 starPosted 28-Oct-2013
Pros: Staff were friendly and helpful.
Cons: Freshen up the room, leave airconditioning on all year round.
Location: Across from beach on main road. Close to old town and square. 20 minute walk to main station. Not a bad location.
We were in Nice for a weekend visit. Air con not working. Room overlooked a noisey lane, so couldnt leave windows open. Room was hot. Shower handle wouldnt stay up. Room needed a paint

Hotel close to the beachPosted 20-Oct-2013
Location: Cycle tour was excellent way of an introduction to Nice
The hotel was ok nothing special. We always ate out for breakfast 15 euros seemed a lot to pay when 2 minutes away in the local cafés it was only 6.50 euros. There is a lot of building work going on around that area so it was quite noisy. Location good. Very average non descript hotel

Great locationPosted 11-Oct-2013
Pros: The staff and location were great.
The staff were very pleasant and the location of hotel was great. The room had a bad odour of smoke as it must have been a smoking room. The room needed a makeover as everything was old and sad looking. It has the potential to be a very nice hotel, it just needs some TLC.

Good for conveniencePosted 28-Sep-2013
A great hotel if you are only using it for sleeping and nothing more. Location is great, right near the beach and main shopping centre. Train station also not far away. Initial impressions look good, modern and helpful staff, but it is a bit tired. Very very basic bar and breakfast facilities, and not much in the way of communal seating etc. Rooms are quite small and basic, strange set up in the bathroom with only half a door for the shower but kept very clean. For the price you pay on here it's well worth it, but you'd be left feeling ripped off if you'd paid the 200 Euro plus they charge for walk ins. Lovely hotel all the same with helpful staff and good location so I recommend it.

Our holiday in Nice September 2013Posted 28-Sep-2013
Pros: Reception staff were very helpful giving us information on where to catch the various buses and were always very pleasant and ready to please.
Cons: If there was room on the roof a swimming pool or even a sunbathing area would be useful.
Location: Nice is a very lively city with lots of small narrow streets to wander around and lots of restaurants and cafes. There is a castle with a free lift.
We originally booked a room through Expedia for 7 nights as this was going to be the last part of our holiday in France but decided to book another 3 nights at this hotel. As we did not have our computer with us we telephoned the hotel Mercury direct to see if they could accommodate us for another three nights. They were full but managed to fit us in for the first three nights in a very clean and comfortable room and then we transferred on the 4th day to the superior room which we had originally booked with Expedia.

Hotel is close to train station in the lower town.Posted 23-Sep-2013
Cons: No real lobby
Location: Close to train station, restaruants nearby, walkable to the funicular railway to the upper (old) town
We stayed two nights and took advantage of the proximity of the train station to do a day-trip into Milan. Room was clean and comfortable and the full breakfast was welcome.

Great stayPosted 12-Sep-2013
Pros: Very conveniently placed
Cons: The bath tub could either be better cleaned it had some marks or perhaps it needed re-surfacing.
Location: Good places to eat. There is a flower/fruit/vegetable market everyday except Mondays when there is an antique market. Lots of different restaurants
We loved our stay. Very conveniently placed directly opposite the sea. Lots of places to eat at night. The staff could not have been nicer and so helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely stay there again.
