Terrible. Never had such bad customer service. Checked out at 11am and went to go for a swim. Was told at 11.05am that we couldn’t use the pool as we had just checked out. Asked if we just just shower as we hadn’t in our room. Was refused. Spoke to duty manager who also said no. Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced in any setting. Had to drive home >200 miles without a shower. Will never go near this place again. Staff worse than Ryanair’s.

I stayed one night and used the spa the next day. The hotel is nice but it’s the staff that made the entire experience one that I will definitely repeat. The food was really good, had the filet with sides. I can’t stress enough how incredible the staff are.

My partner and I stayed for Easter. This was our 2nd visit. I upgraded to a Junior suite. The room itself was spacious and very clean. The shower in our room didn't have much pressure however there was also a bath in which we did use. The cost for 2 nights was £485 with breakfast. The staff are very attentive and there is a nice court yard and bar inside. The prices there was standard however there is a service charge which in hindsight we should asked to be removed. On 3 occasions when signing for our drinks bill there was other thing on it which wasnt hours, this attention detail griped me on a. little. Our meals were beautiful both nights and you must try the steak it was excellent. The reason why we booked this was for the spa and on our second day my partner called the spa to book a slot, we were told it was £70 per person for 2 hours, our mouths dropped and we said we are not paying this type of money as you would have thought the spa facilities were part of the cost of your stay and they weren't. You could use the gym. Overall our stay was lovely, but a bit of a let down with the spa and little things.

Fabulously amazing
The food is out of this world i had halibut melt in the mouth amazing and my partner had the venison which was also melt in the mouth also. The staff could not do enough for you amazing.

From the moment we arrived in the reception. We was greeted with a huge smile and our requests where answered immediately, we have a problem that the lovely receptionist Eleanor had sorted by the next morning. My Partner has the best birthday weekend due this. Property was very clean Room service was on point Staff where lovely Food was good Drinks where good Highly recommended

Bedford Lodge is a lovely place and close enough to walk into Newmarket town Center, the staff are very polite, professional and friendly, two areas that would have made our experience better, firstly the phones in our sweet where not working, normally dial 0 for room service but we did not have this option during our stay, this meant having to walk to reception to place any orders for drinks or food etc, we were promised it would be fixed but it was never fixed ,although reported on Friday evening was still not fixed on Sunday! Part of the luxury of a hotel is being able to pick up and place an order and relax while in your Bedford lodge dressing gown and not having to move. this had an impact on our stay. Second point is the spa relaxing chairs where not very relaxing as they had no soft matress or covers just slats of wood, we found the whirlpool was used almost all the time so wanted to sit and wait for it to be free and the steam room didn’t work very well! Lovely place, great food and service.

Winter break
We had a lovely overnight stay. We were made to feel very welcome by all the staff nothing was too much trouble. The room was large and very comfortable. The bar had a lovely roaring fire and the food was excellent. Would definitely recommend and we will be back.

I had a lovely stay and would definitely stay again the only problem I had was that I couldn’t get the TV working I had a poor satellite connection it said and taking the towels to the pool was a bit of a pain as then we had to get more for our room .

We liked the good service, comfortable room and excellent breakfast but oh my goodness the bar food was lacklustre. We probably shouldn’t grumble as at least it was serving on Boxing Day. Hopefully what we ate is not indicative of their usual standard.

This was our first stay at Bedford Lodge and we were not disappointed. The room was lovely and staff friendly. Great location too for those interested in the world of horseracing. Highly recommended.

Thanks for a memorable stay
I had an absolutely delightful stay at this hotel with my young ones! From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The family-friendly amenities were a hit with my kids, and they especially loved the pool and the play area. Our room was spacious and well-appointed, with thoughtful touches like childproofing and a selection of kids' TV channels. The on-site restaurant had a fantastic children's menu, which made dining a breeze. What truly set this hotel apart was the warm and accommodating staff. They provided us with recommendations for family-friendly activities in the area and even helped arrange a babysitter when we wanted some adult time. Overall, our stay was memorable and stress-free. We left with smiles on our faces, grateful for the wonderful memories we made at this hotel. We can't wait to return for another family getaway!
