What a beautiful hotel, the structure and design are beautiful, beds were clean room relatively clean but it could do with a new carpet, i wouldnt stand on it in my bare feet, bathroom needed new sealant but it was huge and clean with a bath and shower over it, we were at the back of the hotel so it was a bit noisy with trains but they privide earplugs which we found the following morning, price was 57.00 for the night so cheap and cheerful would definitely stay again

Enjoyed our stay, only down side was on the 2nd day, there was a queue for getting seated for breakfast and for hot food for breakfast. Dining area not big enough for amount of guest's

Very nice stay. What a stunning building and original features. The room size was amazing too. A little dated but let’s be honest, it’s an old building! Staff were really friendly and the use of the leisure facilities is great. Only thing missing was no air con in the room and no fan, I likely could have asked for one but would have been better to have one in the room ready.

A convenient location for an event we were attending, but that’s about it. Looks incredibly grand from the outside and reception area but once out of the lift upstairs, everything was tired and dated. We booked a King room, which was small and stuffy. The window didn’t open and the air conditioner was broken. A sign taped to it said we could request a fan from reception. There was a large stain on the ceiling which looked like it could have been a leak, the bath had a large chip in the enamel and the plug hole was rust stained. Check in and out, receptionist wasn’t very friendly. Disappointed there wasn’t an option for early check in as 3pm is quite late when you arrive for a day out. Parking was expensive with only a handful of spaces. Overall, the stay wasn’t worth the £149 we paid, which was more than double for what is advertised now…. When I looked at our room today it was priced at £60.

Had you contacted reception we could have looked into moving rooms for you. I have passed over your comments to the relevant teams to look into.With regards to rates they are generally a lot higher on a weekend than midweek. Due to events etc taking place in the city. This obviously when fully booked affects our ability to offer early check in's. We do always try our best whenever possible. Really convenient if you're travelling by train to Newcastle as it's only two minutes away from the station. Clean comfortable rooms in a really quite grand old building. Good breakfast on offer in the restaurant which is open all day. Good value hotel imo.

Well advertising a free pool leisure club and there was a spillage on my first day so didn’t get to try the “free” leisure facilities out. As you can see - I award not compensated even though I could have gone to a few hotels in the same price bracket. I will not go back!!

Was given a room with no windows no natural lights got incredibly stuffy as heating on with no relief of some fresh air felt like a glorified bed x cupboard. Staff were great, I was able to leave my bag at reception next day whilst I explored Newcastle as my train left later in the day. Breakfast was fantastic as ever.

Very handy being next to the station. Everywhere was very clean,and the staff were polite and friendly. Only niggle was the bedroom window was banging all night., but would definitely stay here again.

Would not stay here again .. so dated dusty, gathered all round door frame, food in window sills .. bare wire that insulated tape come away from, TV constantly dropping out as no signal .. polite staff accommodated room change but still not great ..

Me and my son had a lovely stay at the royal station hotel staff very friendly and courteous from the check in including the cleaning ladies and bar staff easy to approach and very helpful,our rooms with comfortable and very clean ,we would gladly stay again in the future.

My brother and I (in our mid sixties ) are fine with old hotels). Drunk guests sleeping outside their doorways because their mates met someone was outside my brothers comfort zone. Friendly drinks though.

Having checked the duty managers report I can see that a guest did fall asleep outside of a room but was woken and put in his room by staff. I am sorry that this disturbed you. On arrival the reception staff were extremely helpful. Throughout my stay the reception staff we met were polite and friendly. The room was clean with the usual facilities available. The wardrobe although small was adequate for my needs. Lots of steps snd stairs so maybe access not as helpful for those with walking difficulties.
