The Riverview room is worth the extra money! The hotel was more than wonderful, clean, beautiful facility. We were impressed.

Stayed over on Christmas Eve. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Had family and friends meet me for afternoons cocktails, and a staff member took great care of us. Quiet overnight with view of the river. Checked out early Christmas morning - quick and easy.
Overnight stay, the hotel was exceptionally clean, comfortable bed with river view. Morning view of sun and river was amazing. Good times outside with nice drinks next to the fire.
We were there for a wedding. Service was great view was fantastic, and the convenience of being right in the same place as the reception was wonderful.
We had an amazing experience at this hotel, it is centrally located so you can walk everywhere and because I requested a riverfront review and they were out of double bedrooms we got bumped up to a suite with a river view for the same price

Clean and conviene. Right in town, ease of walking
We were visiting our daughter who just moved to the are. We enjoyed the view from our room of the Mississippi River. For the price we paid I would have preferred two ply toilet paper and softer tissues. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay. We will stay again whenever we visit our daughter because the location was perfect!

We stay every Labor Day eve, always enjoy the view of the river, very nice place but was disappointed this year, no food or bar and we were not notified, price was still high. If I would have known we would have stayed else were.
Our stay was excellent and we loved our river view room. Maid service was beyond reproach - cheerful and efficient.
We had a delicious meal in the dining room, and the front desk people were very helpful. Thank you!
The Merrill is the centerpiece of the riverfront in Muscatine. Spectacular views and a relaxed atmosphere make you feel right at home. My only gripe would be the small bathroom, but then I remind myself when I'm out of town, how much time do I actually spend in there? Not much.

This is the best hotel we have stayed at. Clean, modern, beautiful river view. I was a little disappointed that there wasn’t a bathtub in the room per the description but the bathroom was spotless! Loved the property and will definitely be back!
The property is definitely a luxury property. Absolutely outstanding staff! Upon learning I was in town for my mother’s funeral, they procured a sympathy card and the entire staff wrote wrote words of comfort inside. Wow! Meant a lot.
It was clean and that was about it. This hotel room was so small for the price. It is absolutely overrated. The amount of money that I paid for this room and amenities that should’ve come with a club room was ridiculous!! The club room is on the fifth floor right under reception hall. The music was going at 5:30 when we got there and continued till 12:00am. Then you got to listen to them clean up all of that Music equipment till 1am. The DJ was twice as loud as music you could hear him as clear as day talking I asked the front desk about another room or if there’s something more accommodating that they could do because of the amount of money I spent on this room. He basically apologized and then said “I don’t know whoever thought of the idea that the reception hall would be a great place above our VIP floor.” And then he said that he did go up and asked them to turn down the music and that there were several people throughout the hotel not just on the fifth floor that were complaining about the noise. So he went a roundabout way of saying we’re not going accommodate you. I have never been in such a loud room in my entire life. With the amount of money you paid for that hotel you should’ve got a complementary breakfast. Even when we went to the hotel pool that morning to swim with our kids the towels were supposed to be provided they had two towels. I wouldn’t reconsider staying at this place over the weekend. Unless you’d like to hear a wedding music. Way overpriced!!

As the individual responsible for The Merrill, I apologize most sincerely for letting you down so badly. My basic job is to provide you a safe room and a quiet night’s rest, and I failed miserably. As difficult as it is to read, I am grateful you invested the time to share your reaction; otherwise, I might never have known. I only wish I could go back and change history.
What I can do is address this type of situation in the future, and I promise to do so. As for your experience, if you are willing to provide me more information, I will refund your night’s stay. Alternatively, if you could ever imagine returning, I would consider myself most fortunate to have the opportunity to host you and prove we can do this right.
