I loved the roof terrace- it was lovely to be able to sit out there and read in the morning sunshine with a coffee.

My second stay in 2 years, and Praktik Metropol continues to be a good choice given the price and location. Being on Gran Via makes it really easy to find shops and restaurants nearby, as well as being easy accessible via public transport. Most tourist sites are within walking distance as well. The staff are consistently friendly and helpful, and are available 24 hours a day. Only minor quibbles are that there are no coffee/tea facilities in-room, nor is here a minibar fridge.

Overpriced for an I terior room with view of walls and pipes. Phone did not work. No explanation and not even a welcome sheet of paper explaining how the phone works ie what number to dial for front desk or to dial out. Small room with old worn dirty unappealing furniture.

Excellent location, value-for-money . Innovative use of space that makes for a very comfortable stay. We could even make our way conveniently ( 7-min walk) to take the metro from SOL to the RENFE train station with our luggage from this accommodation.

It was alright
My overall stay was nice, the roof top is really cool the policy on towels is great (only wash what you need)... on the other end I was disappointed by the lack of sunlight in the rooms on the court and the double bed was just two singles moving around... not great for sleeping.

Great hotel, great position
Excellent hotel well positioned in the centre of Madrid. Walking distance to all the major attractions. We had a superior room which was a good size with a comfortable bed. Loved the pegs all round the walls - really handy for coats, scarves, bags etc. Don't know why more hotels don't do this. Good breakfast available at cafe next door.

Good place for a few days
Excellent location to walk around Gran Via and mostly all attractions and shpping area. It has a rooftop where you can enjoy a glass of wine with view of the city in a cozy atmosphere. Roomwith minimalist decoration and noisy, but the reception room is big and you feel yourself like homy. Front desk people very attentive and kind with good knowledge of the city, even to advise you about pick pockets around the area.

The location is excellent. Just above Gran via metro (which is closed now). The first room we got had a strange smell from the air condition, they gave us a new room instead (in the next morning only, as the hotel was full). The rooms are not big, but are clean. Towels and sheets were not changed even though they were not clean... All in all - good recommended hotel.

Would not recommend.
Very small rooms. We faced a street with large lit ads all night long and the blinds did not cover the windows completely so had flashing lights in our room all night. Service was poor - our room key didn’t work and it took a very long time for them to get someone up there to fix it, and we were told to wait in the hall for him. This was after check in and a long journey - hospitality could have been better or they could have offered to hold our bags / give us a new room. When I asked, they said they could not accommodate this and to wait in the hall. Overall, wouldn’t recommend based on other hotels in the area. 7 Islas is similar price, down the street, similar design, and much better.
