Great place near the water in San Pedro. There are some restaurants around but you definitely need a car if you want more options. Clean hotel and quiet surroundings. There were 2 weddings held there throughout the weekend and I barely noticed. Had some issues with my remote and the front desk said they’d send someone, no one ever came. Didn’t sleep much the first night because the occupants above me were stomping throughout the night. I’d stay here again.

I am in the medical field and my stay was to get some rest. I was surprised to hear drums and whistles a little after I checked in. I approached a staff member and she stated they would be gone in a bit. It took them almost 3 hours to stop. It was strikers!! I went to bed that night expecting everything to be better…I was waken the next morning at 7am the strikers where praising right below my room. It was impossible to sleep. I emailed Expedia and they directed me to the hotel. I sent them an email complaining about my specific needs to sleep. I decided to check out and rebooked a new hotel. I was not able to rest that day until 4pm when I checked in to my new hotel. Please let people know your hotel situation because there can be a lot that are okay to be woken up by drums at 7am but I sure am not. Hope this situation is resolved by the owners soon. I think it’s unfair to me to have had to loose on such important rest time.

Check in lady is really nice. But the property is so old, dirty. Staff on strike. No service, no pool towels, when we get in the room, the toilet was not even cleaned. Big Poo stained!!! Fridge is not working, some of electrical outlets on the wall is not working. Call them, no body come, wait forever… overall, terrible customer service for 300per night!

Was not impressed at all. We were charge through visa 800 dollars even though our reservation through Expedia was $212. That got sorted out (We hope when we checked out today-ha e to check my visa). The other thing which we were really annoyed about was the fact that there were protests from workers outside the hotel, which Had people walking around blowing horns, banging drums, shouting and screaming, and this is really not something we want to hear during during breakfast time. They were also very loud the night before. This had been going on since July but no advance warning was given and quite frankly we wouldn’t have booked if we knew about this. Room was also not up to standards. It was dated, worn, wallpaper peeling off walls, toilet seat loose and missing hardware and rusty shower fixtures

We arrived to find a labour dispute at the front door with a large group of people with megaphones and drums making so much noise it was unbearable. Evidently it had been going on for months. They finished their dispute at 6:00 pm and started again at 7:00 am the next morning. The hotel is so remote that we could not easily go elsewhere or eat elsewhere. We feel we should have been told about this before we arrived.

Everything was great until we were awakened in the middle of the night to what sounded like a party in the next room. The people were extremely loud and kept us up for a while. When we finally got back to sleep we were awakened again by a very loud picket line just outside the door. The staff was kind and gave us a free breakfast and we were very grateful. Unfortunately upon arriving home we found out we are being charged by the hotel and we don't know for what. We didn't purchase anything and the hotel wouldn't help us figure out what the charges are for. As of now I'm still waiting to hear back from Expedia to clarify these charges.

Liked: The service from Elizabeth was exceptional (we arrived to find a very noisy protest,103 decibels, with vuvuzelas, drums, megaphones, and reading the reviews, has been going on for 9 months), she found us another room by 12:30pm, amazing! Disliked: The noise starts at 7am, so if you are looking for a relaxing stay, this hotel will not provide this. Disliked: Upon check-in, we asked about parking and reception gave us a parking pass, and did not mention any associated charges. On check-out, we found out there was a $20/day charge for parking, and that it was "on their website". I looked and sure enough, it reads "Secured self parking fee: USD 20 per night (in/out privileges)". This parking lot was not secured, and it was definitely not a privilege to go 'in/out', as anyone can go 'in/out'. Perhaps 'secured' refers to the fee.

Great area to walk around in and the dining was within walking distance. It was raining and our hotel had 7 open draining ceiling areas in the dining room. That state of disrepair really brought down the value. But the staff were friendly and the shuttle service was generous.

Strike going on made a bad impression way too loud to make guests walk through. Then the room we booked was not available due to maintenance issue. The lamp shade in between beds had something all over it. Finally the toilet paper wasn’t on a holder just on the bathroom counter and looked like it had rust on it. We called for replacement that never came. The restraint had no service so we had to spend more to get food. Overall very disappointed.

A lovely property next to a huge marina. Clean rooms and facility. Sidewalks near the property that provided for lovely morning walks. My only compliant was that I was not made aware of the worker's strike upon arrival. So after a late check in, after arriving from the East Coast, I was abruptly awaken by drum beats, blowing horns and shouting at the most ungodly hour! Which continued throughout the day. Dining was limited to breakfast which i was never told in advance.

I was placed in a room next to the air conditioning unit that had a cycle of 3 minutes of silence and the 8 minutes of what I’d describe as a helicopter landing in my room, with walls shaking on a continuous loops. The view was of the car park with a canopy hiding the trash, I will not be back.

Queen bed was the size of a double. Right outside our window, room 249 corner, there were vendors set up under tarps blasting music and honking an airhorn at traffic to get their attention. This went on 'til 8pm. Then they started right up again at 8am.... way too early to hear Macarena! And, lastly, I know the Doubletree has no control over the Union picketing outside.. But they were banging several drums, blowing horns, and yelling their heads off...... We will Not stay here again... the Hotel or Expedia should have notified us of this by email... we should have had the option to change to another hotel. Housekeeping was at a mimnum and the restaurant was closed due to staff on strike. Nearest retaurant was a mile walk. Good things... very nice staff at checkin and the great shuttles to the cruise ship.

the hallways either smelled stale or like it had some water damage. the hotel cleaning staff spent their days boycotting the actual hotel and would start their picket line as early as 7am. they would be right outside the hotel with bullhorns, drums and horns requesting a new contract and that would last all day long. it was a terrible stay

The check in was not too bad but the bed was like sleeping on hardwood floors and we were woken up by protesters by the front door echoing up to our room at 7 AM. We were checked in at 11 PM. When we ordered bagel and cream cheese to go they gave us a bagel with jam and it took almost 10 minutes to get to us and cost $6. The man upfront told us that we could park our car while we we t on our cruise for $20 a day and the place at the cruise dock was way more but it is the same price. He also tried telling us that leaving at 1 from the hotel was fine to get us on the ship and checked in with baggage drop off before 230. I stayed at a different Double Tree a few months ago and will never stay at another one. That was equally a bad stay.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities, property conditions & facilities
The staff were all amazing, despite the picketing going on outside. They ALL deserve raises, their jobs are dirty, rough, endless, and unappreciated! I would recommend better food options, and also try harder to keep food hot!
