The hotel is easy to locate, very close to the city centre shops and the First Direct Arena. We were told that check in time was 3pm but when we arrived we were our room and many other rooms weren't ready. It turned out that despite the check out time being midday, someone had allowed the Harlem Globetrotters an extended check out time and this was despite the hotel being fully booked that night. This caused problems for many of the guests who had places to be. The front desk staff were extremely apologetic and gave out free drinks vouchers for the bar despite the problem being out of their control. The hotel management or owners kept a very low profile perhaps because of the decision to inconvenience paying customers against corporate greed. Despite all of this, when we were finally advised our room was ready at 4.30, we were pleasantly surprised by the room. It was spacious and modern. The bed was huge and comfy. The bathroom had one of the best showers I've ever used. Next morning, we found the choice of food at breakfast plentiful and the full English was one of the best I've ever had in a hotel and as it was all you could eat, we sampled as much we could. We found the staff on the desk to be coping magnificently with problems that their superiors had left them with and with no support. All told, I enjoyed the hotel once we checked in and would recommend it. The faceless management however need to consider how poor decisions affect the paying customer.
