For an IRONMAN it might be a choice
Sorry- it's just for IRONMAN participants + perfect location, between the Langkawi airport and MIEC. No need for taxi. + friendly hotel staff + very large room, more than enough for bike setup ? No hotel restaurant/bar, the airport is the nearest commercial facilities (3 min walk) ? Poor bathroom facilities and maintenance. Need to call up housekeeping many times. ? Poor internet access No hotel is perfect. My personal opinion - this hotel is close to the perfect to IRONMAN Malaysia participants.

Big Hotel but not maintained properly. Breakfast is worst. Worst food quality and hygiene. Serve cold food. Flies sit on the food. No wifi in the room. Swimming pool water not clean. No Hot water in tub bath.

Run Down hotel
Stay at this hotel during last school holiday. The hotel condition has become worse. The hotel has no air condition at all common area & the swimming pool was also dirty. The room is clean but the condition is abit old. The room centralized air cond is not working & the only aircond available is a small independent unit. Hotel roof is also have lots,of water leakage and it looks like it needs a major renovation. Will not recommended to others unless they go through a major transformation.

Old Big hotel near Airport
We booked two room set for night stay only as our flight was reaching at 1030 PM, this hotel is just adjacent to the Airport so its solves the purpose. The hotel seems to be an old hotel, the lobby was big without Air condition. The rooms was huge in size so big that AC took an hour to cool the smaller room. Otherwise Rooms was OK and Bathrooms was good. The breakfast was below average with limited variety. The great thing was the reception staff who helped me in all terms.

Nice hotel, walking distance to airport
It was a wonderful experience. I would really go back to Langkawi because of this hotel & of course snorkeling at Pulau Payar. Breakfast menu were simple but the nasi lemak was very tasty with spicy and sweet sambal.

Did not stay here as hotel was closed for refurbishment.Hotels.com should of informed us of any changes to our bookings.we where relocated to another hotel.just glad arrived during day light hours could have been worse if arriving late at night.was travelling with family and kids.very unacceptable

Closed for Upgrading
There was no information on the hotel being closed for upgrading. We had to wait for the shuttle service to send us to the Sister hotel - Century Langkasuka Resort. The check-in was smooth and the staff very helpful. However, the rooms were filled with mosquitoes. Even the restaurant for breakfast had many houseflies.

Yet another mess up by Expedia!
Booked an airport hotel within walking distance to terminal and local restaurants only to find on arrival the hotel was closed and I was shipped off to a beach resort with NOTHING adjacent to it except a beach and a single VERY mediocre food outlet. Come on Expedia you need to get up to date on what you are offering!

Nice hotel near to the airport
We liked the closeness of the hotel to the airport without any noise pollution (we can't hear any aircraft even though we are just next to the airport. The room was spacious but the air conditioning was not cold enough and the water pressure at the shower was quite weak although it was strong at the bathtub. The breakfast buffet had a good selection and it was good. The downside of it is the small ants.

Nice hotel near to airport
The family room is spacious and great for families.very convenient as the airport is just next to hotel but you need to rent a car to get around as there is nothing around the hotel.we went out everyday for island hopping and other activities and only came back to sleep.the swimming pool and its surrounding area is not well maintained and hope this can be improved.staffs are helpful though.we spent another 2 nights at Aseana which is located in more happening location.overall experience was good and we will come back!

A good transit hotel
only stayed 1 night in transit. A short walk from the airport, though did not hear any air traffic. Staff helpful, big room and clean. Felt safe as I was on my own, decent locks. Quiet.

transportation enable mobility on the island.
It is next to the airport. I rented a car during my stay there. There is no extra parking charges. Only with means of transportation all areas of interest are within reach in 10 to 25 mins drive. During my stay there, I spent 35 ringgit of gas. On my way to the airport, I dropped off the car.

One/ Century Hotel Langkawi.
Great airport location you need a car to get around but everything within a short journey. Shame the hotel has been stripped of its Crown Jewels ie, furniture and carvings that dominated the reception area when I last stayed about 5 years ago. Do not stay at this hotel if you are dependant on the WIFI provided at best it is extremely poor even in reception area and non existent in bedrooms and other areas such as the pool. Shame that there are loads of staff mainly young and not doing very much particularly in the restaurant area. They should deploy this excess of labour to general maintainance cleaning, painting, gardening and cleaning the fantastic pool they have. Generally they made my stay nice but this place has enormous potential. A basic lack of promoting what they have for example I never saw anyone buy any food or drink there was no promoting of what they have or encouragement to stay in their bar or pool area at night and socialise. Food available at breakfast was vast but not Much western hot choice basically egg and beans. However, there was plenty fruit, bread and cakes.

* Pros: quiet location, proximity to airport (4 minute walk), spacious/clean rooms, swimming pool for children, full varied breakfasts, pleasant staff * Cons: Distance to beaches/shops/restaurants/tourist areas (it is somewhat isolated area of island), skeleton crew overnights (2 men working one time in entire hotel), currently undergoing major renovations, weak slow wifi (some rooms/times no reception), relentless elevator music (same tune) playing throughout the hallways/dining areas of hotel

It was ok. The wifi was awful in the rooms, barely connecting and the bathroom water was lukewarm perhaps due to the location but I didn't find that pleasant. Sockets are also quite far from the bed so charging phones/laptops has to be done from a distance. Beside the airport though you can walk, only about 2 mins.

Helang Hotel is my selection if i go to Langkawi. I've been there 3 times and I believe if the management can put more effort in upgrading the room condition just like 10 years ago it would be more wonderful. I will still stay here for my next trip..

This hotel is the nearest hotel to Langkawi airport. Although it's not in the beach area, you can go easily to Cenang beach in the afternoon or have a dinner at Perdana Quay (Telaga Harbour). You can go the first in the morning to the Oriental Village (cable car) in 30 minutes of driving or with taxi. Also it is 30 minutes driving from Kuah town area. Be aware, this is an old hotel. The taxi drivers told me that the management and hotel's name has changed many times. Pro: room is spacious, there are amenities, 5 minutes walking distance to Langkawi airport (nearly adjacent and you can buy food since there are many stores inside the airport) & near airport taxi, calm at night, wide variation in breakfast menu, children pool Con: pool not that clean, no carpet in rooms floor, bathroom is slippery (be careful if you bring your children)

Really unimpressed with certain aspects.
The internet was really slow and the hotel food was by far the worst quality food that I have ever eaten in my life. The food was really cold and showed a lack of effort by the hotel staff. The nearest alternative food options are a 10 taxi ride in the area of the most popular tourist beach. The hotel did not have an agent at the tourist desk and very few pieces of information at the tourist desk.

It's a excellent stay in this hotel. No problems at all.

worth the money!
We had 3D2N stay here. The room was quite spacious with sofa bed right at the window. There were xtra in everything i would say without being requested for instance were provided with 6 pillows, iron + iron board, enough hangers + toiletries. the facilities was great but the only flop was the cleanliness issue. The overlooking window was filthy, it hindered my scenic view. The trash bins were not lined with plastic bags. The floor wasn't clean. We had only 1 tv channel to watch the rest were not functioning. We didn't watch much so it's not a big issue for us. Anyway, It's a nice hotel, strategic location, close to the airport, beaches, geo-park, sundry shops, food stall/restaurants + etc but it requires a better housekeeping.

Worst Stay not to choose this hotel
Really very disappointed on staying in One Hotel Helang. 1) Room Service very bad, Call 2 times not responding. 2) Very old bed. Almost the bed spoil. Going to break & giving lot of sound. Full night unable to sleep properly. 3) Old LED TV not working condition. 4) Toilet door locked, Unable to come out. Need to call maintenance for repair to come out from toilet. Over all not worth to stay for money. We keep on calling no one responding. Better not to choose this hotel.

Very close to the airport.
Very convenient for visitors coming by air to Langkawi. Not too far from Pantai Cenang and cable car. Breakfast menu needs to be improved. Must be more vegetarian/vegan friendly to cater non-meat eaters. Carpets need more cleaning. Room is not really sound proof. Can hear sounds from our neighbour every night (don't ask what). Other than that, a good hotel for families, since they provide spacious rooms at an affordable rate.
