"We recommend this hotel for all the right reasons for travelers. Close to everything, clean, comfortable, quiet, and a good bass camp. It is worth noting that most accommodations in Japan/Asia and Europe are smaller than North American accommodations. When we travel, we head out early in the morning and come back late at night, so the hotel is our resting spot for the evening. "

"The hotel is only 5-10 minutes walk from Kyoto train stations and bus stops to many major attractions are nearby. The location is excellent if you are looking for conveniences. The value of the hotel is hard to beat - it has a very robust breakfast option, free noodles at night, laundry facilities, and an onsen. If you are looking for luxury, this is not it. If you are looking for "super budget friendly", this is not it either. But if you are looking for a hotel with good value and some nice facilities, this is it. I will definitely stay there again. "

"We stayed at this property during our group OAT tour and then returned after visiting Okayama and Nioshima for two days. The hotel is excellent and the breakfast buffet amazing! Plus, the hotel was very gracious about letting us store some of our luggage during the two days when we were not in Kyoto. "Fantastic hotel! 4-star rated but more of a 4.5 star. The entrance to the hotel immediately conveyed upscale. Hotel is located directly across the street from the hub of Kyoto Station. Tons of shopping! Our view from our 9th floor room allowed us to see the bullet trains arriving and departing from the station. Impressive! When we arrived, despite there being a staffed front desk, there was a lineup of arriving guests to an advanced check-in kiosk system which was organized. And there were English-speaking attendants there ready to assist if after a long flight we could not figure it out. We paid a hotel local tax fee of an additional 1500 Yens (reasonable), though we had paid for our stay in full with Expedia. Expedia had noted that there maybe a local hotel fee, so we were aware but was not sure how much it would be. That was for two of us and for a 4-night stay. As we finished our check-in process through the kiosk, a porter arrived and offered to take our luggage to our room, took a copy of our room key and lead us to the elevator, where he showed us how to use the key to allow for the elevator floor button selection. Took us to our room where he entered first to ensure that all was in order. Then indicated for us to enter (we arrived for their standard early 2pm check-in, so it was bright and the drapes were open). Bright, very modern and cheerful decor, and then the amazing view of the cityscape, including that of the bullet (shinkansen) train. Great stay!!"
