Quite bearable
not a tourist terrorist and I will not complain about trifles. But the non-working sauna was very disappointing. Also, you have to take into account the fact the hotel is quite far from the tram station to Cologne (about 20 minutes walk). It was quite exhausting - making such a long way every day (the tram is going 25-30 minutes to the Dom). Cons: good and varied breakfast and room was cleaned every day as should be.

Reasonable place to stay for price. Good breakfast
Hotel is easy to reach from the motorway. Large surface parking is onsite with plenty of spaces. Underground carpark available, chargeable at €9.50 a day. Check in was easy. Room was large, with double bed (2 singles zipped together). Juliette window overlooking the courtyard. There was no Aircon in the room. Room location was quiet. The curtains could do with being wider, they either didn't meet in the middle or large gaps on the sides. So bring an eye mask unless you like being woken up by daylight. The room could have been cleaner a glance under the bed, rather wish I hadn't! Bathroom was good. Huge shower and good water pressure and temperature. Breakfast was varied and plentyful. Lots of hot options. Cereals, cold meat, cheese, yoghurt, a variety of fresh fruit. Different breads and rolls, jams, spreads, patè. There were mini croissants and Danish pastries those these went quick and took a while to be replenished. Lots of drink options. Lactose free and dairy alternative milk available. Limited gluten free choice (some packaged crispbreads) The bus station is located in the next road. It can either take you to Cologne in over an hour or to the Ubahn station. Which was total travel from hotel to Cologne in 45mins. Returning from Cologne after 6 there are limited or no buses. The Ubahn runs until late but it's just over a kilometre walk uphill to the hotel from the Ubahn station. This wasn't clear in the hotel information. We would have stayed elsewhere otherwise.

Disappointing!
This was our worst experience of the trip so far. Advertised climate control air conditiining in the room but there was none. When we complained we were told only.somenrooms.had ac. False advertising! The room got really hot and stuffy and we took.it.in turns to open the door and stay awake.to let air in safely in case of security issues. We were told there was no other roomnavailae. There was no.tea or.coffee.making facilities at all not even in a common area. We were. .charged 3 euro each .for.a cup of tea. Dreadful. Then we all only had one.pillow each, it was as if our booking was not at all important. This is not the standard we are used to especially compared to other hotels.

It is a wonderful facility, however our room on the first floor was located directly over the loading dock and was extremely noisy very early in the morning!

The receptionist man was very rude, unfriendly, it was like we are not welcome,very noisy and i find him aggressive. i stayed in this hotel few times 4 years ago with different hotel name. I love the hotel, location, but the hotel receptionist was totally disappointing. I wont go there again

Travelling with a dog
We stayed in this hotel with our puppy, to our surprise, there was a dog bed, blanket, food and water bowl plus food and treats waiting for our dog. Such a nice and kind gesture. I recommend for all the people with dogs staying at this hotel. The breakfast was excellent, good choice. The hotel is in a quiet part of Köln. Very pleased

Smoking still allowed - even if you request non...
We booked 4 rooms for 3 nights. All the rooms were smoking rooms even though we requested non-smoking. I was told 3 different excuses for why this happened. Cobwebs on the ceilings in all of the rooms. Dirty bathrooms, one room had long black hairs on the toilet. Burn holes in the curtains. Toilet paper and tissues empty. Dust in places that aren't normally seen - hair dryer cord, on top of small mirror, top edge of desk, pictures, etc. Two room safes were either locked out or defective. Apparently no supervision of housekeeping quality being done. Two rooms were moved to non-smoking after the first night - the new rooms also had cobwebs and dirty carpets. One room smelled like wet socks. I was told we would get a partial refund but upon checking out, the manager said there was no note about such a refund in the system. This was my second stay, and we came back because it wasn't bad for the price, but this experience has left a very bad taste in my mouth...and bad smell in my nose. Beds were comfy. The breakfast was good and fresh. Plenty of parking and centrally located for quick access to nearby cities and autobahns.
