Great Place, Great Service!Posted 12-Apr-2014
Two of us stayed here for 6 nights in a two single bed room on the 20th room partially facing the harbour. The location may not be great (about 10-15 minute walk from the Sheung Wan Station) however there is a tram at front and the hotel has its own complimentary bus which runs during the morning and afternoon and takes you to the Macau Ferry Terminal, Hong Kong Station or Central Station. There are also a few convenience stores and restaurants within the area and a 24 Hour McDonald's if you get hungry during the night. Service was great and the staff are friendly and helpful. The room itself was small but still enough space to move around. Overall the room was clean and the beds were comfy. There was also a TV with international and Asian channels and a mini fridge. The hotel also supplied the usual bathroom amenities as well as free bottled water which was stocked up daily whenever we used it. Our experience at this hotel was great and I look forward to staying here again next time.

Nice hotel away from the commercial districtPosted 10-Apr-2014
Pros: Unlike the guest houses of Kowloon, a real shower/toilet! The local shops on centre st and Queens Rd West.
Cons: When the MTR station is completed, this hotel will be a whole lot more convenient.
Location: Eat. Hike up Victoria Peak.
Nice rooms, full sized bathroom. The customer service was very professional. The hotel is a little walk from the nearest MTR station, but the hotel does run a shuttle service to ferry terminals, MTR stations, and you can call to arrange a pick up from them too. There are food outlets across the road, by locals for locals so you can get a real taste of Hong Kong.

Excellent staffsPosted 25-Mar-2014
Cons: The hotel facilities
Though the hotel room was abit worn out and the facilities were old (my TV was not working for 2 days), i must say the hotel staffs were the one of the best i have seen as compared to other hotels. Excellent services - thumbs up!

Reasonably Priced for Hong KongPosted 25-Mar-2014
Pros: Reasonably priced by Hong Kong standards
Cons: Perhaps there could be an optional breakfast menu where you can pay less for individual items.
Location: A good restaurant in the area, ten minutes walk up Centre Street then turn left into High Street for a great Thai restaurant called Thai on High BYO
This hotel is a reasonable price by Hong Kong standards. The rooms are small as are most of the hotels I've stayed in have been (at least 4 in the last 6 months). The bed was hard. The room was in reasonable condition. The staff are friendly, the cleaner was good. Breakfast is expensive at the equivalent of $25AUD per person especially if you, like me only want a coffee and a bowl of cornflakes. The location is a bit out of the way, but public transport in Hong Kong is excellent so it's not really an issue, you can get a tram from just around the corner (5 min walk) to Central and the MTR from there to just about anywhere. The Airport Express free bus service stops at this hotel as well and taxis are cheap in Hong Kong if you want a taxi.

Very good value if you are counting your pennies.Posted 24-Mar-2014
Pros: The pool
Cons: Maybe the restaurant could do with updating
Location: Shopping at the IFC
Courtesy bus if very convenient to IFC and Hong Kong train Station. Swimimg pool in the summer is good. Gymnasium is small but still does the job if you go when quiet

Well located and clean.Posted 24-Mar-2014
Pros: The location away from the centre of the city but with excellent connections to the city centre.
Cons: The hotel is fine as it is.
Location: Nearby is the dried fish street that provides some interesting scenes and smells.
The Island Pacific Hotel is located away from the centre of the city but has quick and efficient transportation only a block away. The rooms are clean, efficient and reasonably large for Hong Kong. The rooms are quiet and many have a view of the harbour. The Island Pacific is a great choice for a traveller who wants comfort as well as economy.

Fantastic hotelPosted 20-Mar-2014
Pros: Very clean and very helpful. Bed very hard but hotel added a soft under blanket which was just perfect.
Cons: More draws for clothes in room instead of table to write at and more coat hangers.
Location: Great location, buses trams and MTR near the hotel.
Enjoyed this hotel. Great location and staff very friendly. Free buses or hotel provided complimentary taxis if missed these buses to the MTR or Ferries. Always knew where to go or offered help and wrote down messages in Chinese to show driver or shop keepers. Staff were always smiling and welcome you back every night.
