"Exceptional value - staff and fit of a 7 star hote"
I was extremely impressed with this hotel based on the room rate. The staff were exceptionally helpful - I was shown to my room and they organised a taxi very efficiently and courteously - it felt like Four Seasons service. The room is fresh and modern and quite big with good lighting and furnishings. The bathroom was huge and a very high spec wet room. My only comment in terms of room for improvement would be the bathroom floor whilst being clean could have benefitted from a really deep clean to bring the grouting back to white - it was only noticeable as everything else was exceptionally clean.

This hotel is in a nicely renovated area of Grenoble with many shops and restaurants nearby. The location is ideal for exploring Grenoble on foot. Easy parking located in parking garage next door, there is a parking fee but the hotel provides a discount. Located near to a Monoprix so we stocked the refrigerator for breakfast, lunch and snacks. We reserved a 1 bedroom apartment, our room was clean and spacious enough for 2 adults and 1 child. We did not use the bar/restaurant but the hotel does have one on site. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. We used the laundry facility on site which was very convenient.
We spent 3 days at the Citadines City Centre Grenoble. Our flight was delayed and they accommodated us without problem. We had a very nice stay. The room and private bath was spacious. The rates were reasonable. We would definately stay here again. The only thing we were not prepared for was the lack of air conditioning, but the large window provided ample air flow. I would highly recommend the Citadines.
I checked in on a Friday afternoon. The front desk girl spoke pretty good English and was helpful in answering my initial questions about the city and room as well as later follow up questions. She was generally very pleasant to interact with so I would rate the staff highly at this hotel. The other staff members were also OK and spoke enough English (better than my French)
The room was clean with somewhat new looking furniture. Bathroom also seemed relatively new and was clean also. Location is across the street from the train station which is great for convenience because that also is right near the end of the main street so you can walk or take the metro to most places easily.
Overall it is a good hotel for the price.
The largest city in southern France with 160,000 people, Grenoble is surrounded by the Alps. Though small, the Musée de Grenoble has some impressive works, including four Picassos, one Miro, one Kandinsky, and one Andy Warhol. The Musée de la Resistance et de la deportation de l'Isere is worth a visit for its informative exhibition about World War II.
