It is a chain hotel and close to the centre. From the metro take the St Pere exit and it's the road 2 up on the right. The staff speak good English although there are only two staff members on at any one time
My wife and I had a great stay at the nh Barcelona Centro in early Oct 2014. Its a just few blocks from where the airport bus stops in Placa Catalunya, so taking the bus was very convenient. The hotel and rooms are fresh and clean - you can tell the hotel has been recently renovated or is new. Other reviewers commented on the beds being hard.....they are firm but certainly not hard. We slept great on them (and have a firm mattress back home). The location is great - so easy to walk anywhere in the Gothic Quarter from the hotel. Would definitely stay here again in the future.
This was one of the most inexpensive hotels that my boyfriend and I stayed at during our trip through Europe this summer, and, ironically, also one of the nicest. The room was clean, bright and spacious. Bed was comfortable. The location was PERFECT -- walking distance to everything that we wanted to do. Just down the street we also found our favourite restaurant of the entire trip - 'sensi tapas', which we highly recommend. Front desk staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Overall, cannot recommend enough!! :)

Price. Centrally located next to amenities for travel would reccomend and will use again.

Superb location, close to all areas, Ramblas, Port, shops. Hotel garden really nice for a drink and having breakfast. good selection of breakfast. We were surprised how quiet it was in the hotel as it was in a very busy part of the city.
the staff were lovely, very helpful and friendly.
We also took advantage of the open top bus, 54 euros for us both, but really good value. Barcelona cathedral magnificent, the geese in the Cloisters amazing. We were a bit disappointed that we weren't able to see Gaudis Bascilica, but the queues were huge and in 34 degree heat decided to give it a miss.
Eat away from the Ramblas as better value and more spanish.. superb Tapas.
