This property is as described. I very much liked that it had air conditioning in the Qld summer heat and humidity. A delightful pool. A washer and dryer in my apartment with an actual functional kitchen (not a kitchenette).

Internet service was non-existant. Lucky we all had data we could use and had already downloaded podcasts, books etc before our stay. Unit was in perfect order, pool clean and very well maintained.

The unit had a fully serviced kitchen which was great. The admin office lady Jane was so accommodating and friendly. Nothing was a problem. Great service and convenient location. Highly recommended.

Lounge needs replacing. Very noisy neighbours!! Little or no noise insulation between rooms...could hear them change their minds!! Very clean & a comfy bed!

There were cockroaches in our apartment (we found 3) I have photos for $250 per night plus for for some nights, this doesn’t seem reasonable. I would like a part refund

Hi Caitlin,We are very sorry for the inconvenience. We just did a pest control one week ago and that's why the dead cockroaches appeared and we cleaned it immediately. We are always keeping the rooms very clean and we are offering the best price in the market. We will do it better and thank you for your message.

The place would be nice if they did some work on maintaining it. The cold tap in the bathroom basin didn't work and the towel rail was only connected by one screw so unusable. The ceiling in the bathroom was also covered in mould. The air conditioner appeated to be about 20 years old and held together by sticky tape. It was noisy and not very cold unfortunately. I was working on the Gold Coast for a week and it definitely wasn't worth the money. I wouldn't recommend staying there until the place is renovated or sold.

No availability to amenties - Work commence at 6am on property by contractors - no notification that propert was under construction renovations and also nearby construction - too far from shops and Caville avenue - cigerette burns on floor - fans wobble and make noise - extra furniture in room like two coffee tables in small area - Book elsewhere as no value here.

Rooms smelled musty. My girlfriend has severe asthma. Matress was old with no dustmite cover. One night stay and my girlfriend was in hospital for hours. Unable to stay for the 4 nights booked due medical reasons. Hotel has refused to refund the difference. Will not stay again.

We are very sorry to hear that your girlfriend has such a severe respiratory condition but I find your comments a little unfair. Your reservation was very last minute but you were given one of our premium apartments and one that is often requested by return guests. The bed was updated only months ago so is certainly not "old". All our mattresses have mattress protectors or mattress toppers on them with mattresses regularly put into the sun for airing and eradication of dust mites etc. I was not even aware of your situation until over two weeks later when you phoned so requesting a refund when we were not given the opportunity to re-sell the room at the time seems a little unjustified. We do respect your comments however and wish you both well in the future.

Rooms are very small, in particular the bathroom, where the door can't be closed or opened very easily. Toilet seat cover wouldn't stay up as it was supposed to. The wifi reception was dismal. One of the overhead lights didn't work since the lamp was blown. I wouldn't recommend this place at all.

Thank you for your comments John and we are sorry you didn't enjoy your one night stay with us. The ground floor unit you were in was the only one available for your same day booking. Housekeeping will always replace light bulbs if requested and we appreciate you letting us know about this. The toilet seat was a self closing one but we have since replaced the entire cistern in that unit. We have not been aware of any WiFi issues in that unit but will certainly look into it for the convenience of future guests. Wishing you well. Karana Palms Management

Reception was closed when I arrived @ 2.15pm Apartment had not been cleaned Tap didn’t work in the bathroom & toilet seat was loose On checkout office was again unattended & no one to help with luggage Had I known the building did not cater to disabled I would never have stayed there.

We regret that your experience during your stay was a negative one for you as we are continually striving to improve our guest customer service. As an anonymous review it is difficult to follow up on the issues you had but I can assure you that all apartments are thoroughly cleaned between stays. The after hours mobile number is on the office window to assist our guests in any regard. There has been no recent enquiry regarding disabled facilities and as a three floor walk up there the accommodation clearly would not suit everyone. We wish you well in the future.

Perfect location, great accommodation
Brilliant location, walking distance to central Surfers Paradise hot spots, no more than 10 minutes walk to the beach! Slightly older building but facilities are great, excellent security and secure parking. Very clean and nicely maintained, pool and BBQ area fantastic, new furnishings in the rooms, plenty of kitchenette facilities in the rooms, air con was invaluable.

Great location, but the room was very old and tired. The range hood didn’t work properly, the toilet seat had a broken hinge, the washing machine still had an item of washing from a previous guest and our lounge door opened to a courtyard full of tree branches that had been cut and left in a big pile. The carpet had stains all over it and a hole in the bathroom had been patched with a laminated sign. The free wifi consists of only 100mb which is used before you know it and you have to pay $5 to get unlimited wifi which was patchy as to where in our apartment it worked. The pool is nice but having to keep avoiding the auto pool cleaner made it less enjoyable.

Older but Serviceable
A property away from the main buzz but quiet, comfortable but some attention to in room facilities needed. I found it quite serviceable for a quiet place to stay. Ideal for a person who may have to have a short working spell there but the reliability of and ability to connect to the Free WiFi is an area where some modifications should be made. Air Con, cooking facilities, fridge and furnishings are all included but one sofa is in need of replacement.

Comfortable and great location
This is my second stay at this place. The location is very convenient. It’s close enough to everything on offer in Surfers Paradise but in a quiet street. Easy check in and friendly service. The free parking is great if you’re driving. Would definitely stay here again.
