STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!
This place confirmed and took my booking at 11:30pm but didn’t open the door. I found out in the confirmation email after being charged, that they close and lock the hotel at 6:30pm and don't accept check-ins later. Why would you accept a booking after you are closed? Charged me and refuse to refund me despite I didn’t stay there and had to book and pay for another hotel. Extremely shady... and they claimed I stayed the night before (which I did not) to justify to Hotels.com why they charged me. STAY AWAY!! Hotels.com is refusing to do anything too. Last trip I’ll use them either and will tell everyone what terrible service I received. BOOK ANYWHERE ELSE!!!

I went to this guest house. first there was no one at the front. so they told me for self check in. the property was located on 2nd floor. i had to open with the key pad combination 2 doors. the property call them brown and green door. there are only total 6 rooms. and 1 bath for this property. we shared thr bathroom. after self checkout with in one hour we left and rented another hotel due to the unsafe. there was a person knocking on the property door. as mentioned there were total 2 doors with the combination lock. so this syranger was knocking the green door (2nd door). and saying open it, open it. and he said, he sleep here. i said if you sleep here you should have your own combination number or a key to access the floor. he continuesely shouting. then he left. after 15 minutes, my wife says lets leave this place. it is very dangerous. so we left and went another hotel. receipt is attached. i would like to request for the refund. thanks

We would like to clarify that the structure you have booked is not a 5-star hotel, but a guesthouse which consequently has shorter opening hours during the day than a hotel. In any case we are open every day from 9 to 18:30, and when we are not in the structure we can be reached by email or whatsapp. Those arriving outside opening hours can still access the structure with codes to open the doors, like you did. Of the 6 bedrooms, 4 have a private internal bathroom while only 2 have a shared external bathroom.You probably didn't even know what you booked because you were looking for an en suite bathroom when your reservation was for a room with a shared external bathroom.We are sorry for the person (customer) who knocked on the door, creating a disservice to you, but unfortunately the education and behavior of the people goes beyond the categories of the hotels they book.The hotel is secure and we have never had any problems in the past; the hotel was full that evening and no other customer showed any problems or inconvenience.Only you have chosen to go to another hotel.

Charming and perfect location.
Our stay at Soggiorno La Cupola was wonderful. It was an easy walk from the train station and super close to the amazing Duomo. It was in the perfect location to enjoy all that Florence had to offer. I had excellent communication with he Hotel owner and he was available to help with directions and times to meet. He provided codes and made sure we knew how to get to the location. So helpful. Everyone was friendly and kind and spoke english which helped immensely with communication. Great place and charming.

Dear Sir,In our description it is stated that we do not have air conditioning, but a ceiling fan. If you wanted air conditioning you had to book another property and not complain because you didn't find it. It's incorrect.

The location was fabulous as was the service. Beds were comfortable. Bathroom situation was awful. It was an rv toilet that never flushed and shower so small I could not use as a normal sized person.

The hotel is in a fantastic location - especially for the price. The terrace access is a nice touch. The bed was comfy and it wasn’t too noisy despite being on a Main Street. But the bathroom in the room was not great, it leaked, toilet didn’t flush properly, and the shower was tiny. Also there’s no elevator as stated, so you will need to carry your bag up a few flights of stairs. But all in all great stay.

Recommended centrally located budget hotel
The hotel was located right in the heart of Florence, the Cathedral was less than ten minutes walking, and it had a great roof top terrace where you could bring drinks and food and enjoy the view. The hotel was clean and tidy and our room had a shower but the toilet was shared with about 4 other rooms; we knew this in advance so it was not a problem - it was something we were willing to bear for a budget hotel that was central. Wifi was reliable. One point worth noting: the hotel was located on the second floor and there was no lift so it would not be good for people with limited mobility.

We were looking for somewhere reasonably placed but in the center of the city, and we found it here! The shared bathroom was a bit of an experience, but overall the room was exactly what we needed. The best added bonus was access to the rooftop terrace of the building, which had a lovely view of the Duomo. We brought desert back to the hotel our last night and sat up there for an hour just watching the city and enjoying the view.

Good place to stay in central Florence.
Great little place to stay in central Florence, really close to the Cathedral and has all the shops and restaurants you might need nearby. The property itself is up a couple of flights of stairs so be mindful if you have a lot of bags, but pretty easy to find and near to the train station. I found my room was clean and comfortable but very simple, there was some wear to furnishings and features, one of the plug sockets wasn't well secured. There was some outside noise but but too much as to stop me sleeping. There wasn't a formal breakfast but they did leave some croissant and juices in the room along with some coffee machine capsules.

In the heart of Florence
We loved the location, the room was comfortable and had plenty space. The bathroom was tiny and made it difficult to shower. Some mornings the water would never heat up. The service was good. You do have to carry your luggage up 3 flights of stairs. But that’s Europe :) The location was perfect! Great location from the train station.

Don’t be deceived by hotel name
Elevator did not work. Had to carry bags up 4 floors. Room floors dirty. Air conditioning did not work. Tv did not work. Shower water only very hot not cold water. Shower floor slippery. Shower handle broken. Not enough towels. Bathroom dirty. Bed sheets dirty. Fire alarm at 4 am. Noisy street at night. No breakfast. Bad customer service.

Perhaps you have the wrong Hotel where to do the review. We are not on the 4th floor but on the second floor, we don't have an elevator (so it can't not work), we don't have air conditioning but the fan, and everything else ............. ........... In our opinion, review to be removed

The place was great! The only issue was lots of construction in the buidling and around the building. They would start at 7:30 in the morning and it was very loud. But the location and place was again, great! Roof top terrace to sit and enjoy wine with awesome views!

Very close to the Railway and center of town.
Nice hotel but the bathroom was very small. The toilet seat was broken we ran out of toilet paper and the shower was the smallest shower I have every seen. Otherwise reasonable for the cost.

Great no thrill hotel!
It was our second stay in this hotel, and we were not disappointed. They had some minor improvements in the rooms and common bathroom. Very clean and quiet despite being in a busy area! Check in was smooth and easy, even outside of their office hours! The location is as good as it gets, couple steps from the train station and the Duomo. We loved the rooftop with an incredible view!

No terrace as advertised which is why I booked.
No one at the desk ever. I had to let guests in who were waiting in a small dark hallway for someone to let them in. The bathroom was gross. Floor wet and slippery - dangerous. The key to the room door was not straightforward and I had great difficulty getting in the first time and of course no one was there and no one answered my phone calls. All over TERRIBLE!!!

You reserve a "affittacamere" we are not an Hotel. The person at the desk stay just for few hours. It's write on our description.The terrace is on the 4th floor open 24hrs.

Right in the centre of town!
This place is 2 minutes walk to the Doumo and surrounded by shops, piazzas and things to see. Note rooms are 2 floors up so tricky with heavy suitcases, though staff were very helpful in giving me a hand. Building and rooms are basic but clean, fine place to stay on a budget to enjoy the city

My husband and I stayed only one night in Florence at Soggiorno La Cupola. I'm honestly not sure we could've done another. We had a shared bathroom which was hard to get into at times, and we only had one thin, hard pillow, not great for your neck. I woke up the next morning with some aches. The room was clean, though! The location, though, is pretty great. The hotel is situated really close to the train station and the main cathedral! When we arrived no one was in, so we had to call an italian number from our UK phone, hello charges. They gave us the code to the door, and our keys for our room were in the lock, so we got in no problem. The person arrived around 8-830pm and we paid for our room then,

This old hotel is basic, but the location is GREAT! I RSVPed a double with a shared bathroom, but was luckily given a double with a private bath! The staff were nice, but not there the whole time. Definitely call ahead of time to tell them when you are arriving.

Not what I thought it would be.
I reserved a double room at this "Bed and Breakfast". I thought I had reserved a room with a private bathroom. Upon arrival I found that first of all the B & B was on the second floor with no elevator. Secondly, there was not a breakfast in the building. I was given a voucher to go to a cafe/bar across the street where I got to choose 1 pastry and 1 coffee. Thirdly, my room did NOT have a bathroom, I had to use the shared bathroom across the hall. One of the nights I was there other people had showered and left the floor soaking wet, I slipped and fell. I was not injured but very angry. There was no phone, alarm clock, or TV in my room. The Signora was very friendly and accommodating even though communicating was difficult (I speak limited italian and she spoke almost no english). The cleaning lady was lovely. After the initial surprise of discovering the accommodations were not what I thought they would be I did have a good time in Florence. The one shining glory of this place is the rooftop terrace. You must climb several more flights of stairs but once you do you come out on to the roof that looks directly at the dome of the Duomo about 200 yards away with nothing blocking your view. During the daytime it is exciting, sunset and night time it is incredibly beautiful and romantic. The rooftop terrace and the inexpensive price made up for the disappointment of the room. I don't think I would stay there again.

We were given the triple with a very commanding view of the centro historico, and of the duomo. Big room, good beds. Ceiling fan looks like it has not been cleaned in a very long time. mossy with dust. double pane new windows make it prety quiet. tiny ensuite bathroom, but what we expected. shower curtain needed replacing. deferred maintenance should really be done, and this place would really be amazing. but we didnt have a great expectation, and my wife was happy ' so all good!

great value/excellent location
This is for place is a fantastic value for those who are in the the know about Italy and how it functions. I would not reccommend this for first time travelers to Italy or those that liked to be pampered. It is not manned around the clock, so make sure you have confirmed your arrival time and have their phone number and have access or know how to use public phones to contact them in case they are not there to meet you. They will arrive in minutes. We stayed in the room with a private bath and a great view of the duomo out of a big beautiful circular old window. The room was simple, spacious and very clean. Unless you are used to staying in these types of pensiones, you will find the bathroom shockingly small, but it also was very clean. The location can not be beat. Close enough from the train station to arrive by foot with luggage and not be exhausted (less than 10 mins), but far enough to be removed from the riff-raff found near trains stations. The duomo is a short walk away, and plenty of places to grab breakfast or snacks only feet away. No elevator, but only 2 floors up. I stayed in October, so room temperature was quite comfortable. No amenities, but the price reflects that. I would definitely stay here again.

The best view, the worst service ever!!
First of all this is not a hotel at all, the "rooms" are located on the second floor of a building, but there is not a lobby or even a signal that the hotel is there. When we arrive to the building the only we found was a phone number to contact them, we call after being waiting outside the building for about 30 minutes and they say they would be there in less than 10min, but we had to wait for at least another 45min for a lady who was not particularly rude but not nice to be there. That was the only time we saw her, because after paying in advance and being given the keys she disappeared, so nobody is there ever. The rooms are quite old, the bathroom is pretty small and smelly but the view of the Duomo is amazing, however I would never stay here again.

So the owner asked when I was going to arrive. I told her between noon and 300pm. I arrived at 310pm and she was gone, meaning that when I buzzed the door there was no one in the office so I sat on the street for about 30 minutes trying to get a hold of someone else in the building. Luckily some other Americans told me the lady across the street had keys for the building. She called some mysterious person who told her to let me in and what room I could stay in. Long story short, there was an attendant in the hotel about 1/12 hours, there was no A/C or internet like EXPEDIA said and my room was shaped like a pizza-shaped coffin with a porta-pottie in it that was really the whole bathroom. If you have to stay here, get very drunk before you go to sleep...so you can sleep in their WWII, military-style cots.

I'll start with the positive: The staff was friendly, the location was very close to the train station, the roof top terrace had an awesome view. Now for the negative: the shower was really small (even for European standards), the water was either super burning hot, ice cold or no water pressure. Our second day there we got back to our room to rest after walking for 4 hours to find the door wide open with 2 construction men in there drilling holes in the walls. The front desk guy told us they would be done in 5 minutes. An hour or 2 later we finally got our room back. The bed was uncomfortable and the sheets made me itch like crazy. My boyfriend didn't have the itching problem so I'm hoping it wasn't bud bugs. Wouldn't stay here again.

The good part of the hotel is the location very close to the Doumo and all main attractions of Florence! And 5 minutes walking from train/bus station. Hotel is old, but clean. Rooms very small, no soap or shampoo (bring yours), towels are like a big napkin. Breakfast is in a near by cafeteria, and it is only a small coffee and very small sweet bread. Bring your reservation number and contact phone since the lady that works there does not open the door easy. There is a public phone in the corner of the street. You will have to call by phone to let them know you are there...(specifically if you arrive at night) and they will open. If you do not mind those incovenients , the location for the price is great!

The room was very small and I could barely fit into the shower. We asked for a double bed, but instead we got two small single beds which was extremely uncomfortable. When we came back to Florence around 5pm after traveing in Tuscany there was nobody at the apartment and we had to wait on the street. Breakfast is at the cafe across the street and all you get is a tiny croissant and a cup of hot drink. They did give us wine but not until the night before we were leaving. So overall this was not a pleasant experience. The only positive thing I can mention is the rooftop and the location (the hotel is one block from the train statiton and one block from Duomo.

A perfect introduction to Florence.
This little flat is a three or four minute walk from the SMN Stazione, and about the same to the Duomo area. Super convenient, clean, quiet and well appointed for the price. The innkeeper spoke about 3 words of English and we spoke about the same in Italian, which made for an entertaining check in- we quite appreciated this, actually. It was sort of a crash-course in Firenze! We arrived in our room to find a bottle of chianti waiting for us which the innkeeper suggested that we drink on the rooftop deck which has an amazing view of the Duomo and Giotto's Tower. The room had a small private bathroom pod that had been installed- not fancy, but functional. Some others have complained about the breakfast component of this B&B being around the corner in a cafe, but we thought it was pretty awesome. This B&B is not a high-end hotel, but it's comfortable, clean, safe and not too terribly modest. We'd definitely go back again.

Es un buen lugar para hospedarse si solo necesitas un lugar para dormir y dejar equipaje (andar todo el dia fuera), cuenta con muy buena ubicación , cuenta café , té, galletas , muy buena limpieza , el señor que atiende es muy buena persona , amable , confiable y está dispuesto a ayudarte y cuidar las maletas después de la Salida , lo recomiendo mucho. Esta muy cerca de todo, sobre todo de la estación del tren y el duomo.
