A great hotel and great breakfast. The pool was nice but not heated therefore could not go inside it was cold. Location was perfect walkable to the mall in 15 minutes. There is a shisha lounge/club that opens at 11 around the side of the hotel separate entrance worth checking out. I went during off peak time therefore there was not a lot of people staying in hotel.

Positive: room is big. Concierge staff is helpful and nice. Swimming pool is beautiful. Negative: the hotel is too old. The room not so clean. All staffs with poker face (unless one French lady on the front desk). The gym from 12:00 to 20:00 only, that’s not friendly for tourist actually. And the staff was even LATE. Not many choices in the breakfast.

City view rooms are poor like overall 6/10. Pool view rooms are better like 9/10, and elevators works on that side. Service was good, some receptionists were snobby but generally good staff.

City view room 6/10...Pool view rooms 9/10
Not bad. If you stay in the city view area then you will have a poor experience. I had a 3 night stay with family. First night I booked the street view and it was not great. Noisy, elevator stopped working after 10am, safe lock box was not working, bathrooms were poor and needed reno. However, the 2 other nights I booked with pool view, it was a bit more than city view but totally worth it. Nice clean room with 2 beds, bathroom was newly renovated. Everything was good. Breakfast was very good too.

Nice hotel, courteous staff, espesially young Mohammed in the bar, thanks for the ice, very cold beer on tap with nuts and popcorn and music complimentary music Very hot room with no ac available in february apparently, very noisy with street traffic, hotel was nearly empty, would have been nice to get a garden side room Was very surprised at the extra charge for taxes upon check out, should have been informed of this as our Expedia rate was supposed ton include all taxes and fees Better than a cramped Riad for sure

Property needs serious refurbishment, well past it's best, generally expensive for what you actually get, pictures are professionally done but the reality when you are there is very different from the glossy pictures.. Reception staff extremely arrogant, everything to them is a problem, even checking in people seemed to a chore! We moved rooms but even the second room was dirty so we complained and had to have special cleaning carried out. Expensive food, £3 for a tea...wow! 5 star prices for a 2 star hotel.

Great hotels for families with young children. Play area and pool is amazingn my 4 and 2 year old loved it. Staff were ok, just not the best at welcoming people and or giving you initial advice. Also,I paid a significant amount more than initially quoted by Expedia! Not sure why!

Wouldn’t book again
Hotel room was very worn. They had made attempts to paint it and had just painted everything that stood still. The security chain on the door was broken and just stuffed in the hole. Breakfast was very expensive for what you got. We found a cafe down the road that was a quarter of the price and the food was excellent. The swimming pool was lovely but freezing. The waiters were great, the best thing about the hotel to be honest. WiFi was ok in the reception but useless everywhere else.

Good City Hotel
Lovely hotel in the centre of Fez new town on the main road, but the room we gad was very quiet, Lovely Room, overlooking garden and pool. Staff could not do enough to help. Throughly recommend.

Nice staff, tired hotel
We checked into the Royal Mirage Fes without incident and went to the bar for a coffee au Lait (Hint: If you don't like Nespresso ask for a cafe au lait espresso, otherwise most places use the Nespresso machine). The bar has a keyboard player and often shows football on the TVs. There's a selection of food and soft drinks as well as beer, wine and spirirts (don't forget only hotels will serve alcoholic beverages). The next morning we found how tired the place is. The shower holder didn't work so you had to crouch or hold with one hand. The water alternated hot/cold so you have to bob & weave to wash. The TV only had CNN, MSNBC or German channels. The dining room does buffet breakfast which was good. Try the carrot & orange juice, but maybe not the beetroot juice. The hotel also does 24/7 room service but practice your French before ordering. For smokers you can get smoking rooms, the bar allows smoking and half the tables in the lobby are for smokers. There's no real night life in Fes so locals come to the hotels for a safe place to meet up, drink & chat. There's no brochures in the lobby with details of attractions. If you ask they'll offer you a Grand Taxi (SUV) trip to local sights or tours to the Atlas mountains or other towns. They'll usually quote in Euros but want payment in Dirhams. The hotel will change money. Checkout was a nightmare! After 20 minutes they gave me a bill with no details so I'll be checking my credit card statement for the next few weeks.

A Moroccan 4 star
This isn’t a standard 4 star. It’s a Moroccan 4 star which means yheyvhelp ypubwhen they feel like it. The entire front desk looks frazzled. I booked airport transportation only to have it no show. The staff was unresponsive and didint seem to care. The food is real lack luster. All the guest look bored. Not my worse experience but far from my best.

Wonderful Staff, Very Good Hotel, But..
Very good hotel, Excellent location, Wonderful staff, but the management should take a note of the followings 1- Smoking is permitted everywhere including all rooms.( I am not smoker and have changed 3 rooms with ashtrays in all of them including bathrooms too) 2- Low water pressure in the washroom 3- Air Condition is not effective either in the room or in the lobby 4- Slow wireless internet connection with many interruptions 5- Dinner buffet quality and variety is not matching with its price This is the second time to reside in this hotel, the first time was two years ago and many of the above mentioned points were not existing.

Good location rooms are large but need a huge overhaul especially the bathrooms, balcony was great. Pool was lovely except the terrible opening hours and they give you someone else's used towel instead of washing them every time. The main problem with this hotel is the loud music during the day at the pool and then the entertainment goes till early hours of the morning so you hear it deafeningly while your trying to sleep

Disappointing on the inside
Besides the hotel and the facilities being outdated, I found my room to be really poorly cleaned. There were stains in the bathroom, on the shower curtain and well as the tulle curtains on the window, the entire carpeting in the room... I found an olive seed and a small rock in random places on the floor. Since it was centrally located, and I needed the place last minute, it was OK. Thank God I read a review here saying the staff tried to enter the room without knocking on the door and the chain on the door stopped them, because the same thing happened to me! SO WEIRD! I was hoping to work out a bit but the gym was in pathetic condition. There were two treadmills and none worked properly.

The worst / Rude service i have ever seen.
we reached there and the room was cold , we called and they sent someone who said all we have to do its our the fan on. we did and the room never got any wormer. So we spent the night in the cold and the next morning we talked to the front desk and the lady was so rude and careless. She called the manager who never want to talk to us and he did not care either. the service is so dam poor it is unbelievable so the i will never return and don't encourage any visitor to go there. The hotel looks nice online but the service is very very poor.

The desk was friendly and helpful. One morning about 9:00, we were still in bed and a probable cleaning person tried to get into the room without any announcement. The chain on the door stopped the person. The desk said that the person would be spoken to. Otherwise the stays were pleasant.

Clean and good service. Let down by "gym"
Lovely stay however advertised as having a gym. It does but most of the equipment doesn't work. ( both jogging machines have loose belts and could be dangerous. I chose the hotel for location and gym as I was staying a week. I have booked another week in December primarily cost and location would be interesting to see if the gym gets any improvement.

A Gem that has seen better days
Positives: Beautiful decor around the hotel, lovely tilework, rooms good size although our room looked a bit drab others were more modern, working fridge, safe and a/c. Nice pool view room. Excellent bell men and restaurant staff. Enjoyable half board and breakfast offered a good spread. Not UK 4 star but good for that part of the world. Main pool area pleasant and clean. Lobby area mostly good with some cigarette smoke. ATM in lobby. Warm milk for the baby every night, free of charge. Good housekeeping mostly. Little shops with all the things you need apart from nappies. Negatives: Play area unsafe. Kids pool unsafe and had bird poo in it. Had to complain but quite frankly a lot of the play equipment needs to be removed entirely. Hard to get tissue or toilet roll replaced. Or bins emptied. The housekeeping number was usually never answered. No lifeguard unless you count the pool boy. No babysitting unless you want the cleaning staff to look after you kids. Possible issues: There was a resident cat who would come and join you for dinner, he amused my little one but someone else might find this a problem. Key cards always seem to NOT work but thankfully we weren't far from the hotel lobby. Apparently you must not put the card near a mobile phone. Water and drinks are expensive but you can always go out and get something. The minibar was empty so we filled it with our own stuff. No kettle in the room or other tea/coffee making gear.

Containing several issues and remarks related to our different free facilities especially Kids pool and Play ground which seemed more deceiving than profitable for you. I would like to enlighten that after we discussed together the issue about the kid’s pool and playground , and as promised, I took note of all your observations for the sake of improvement. I informed our engineering on the spot to proceed to official maintenance although we had no complaint during all summer time. But, after receiving your comments, our General Manager processed to a special meeting requesting meticulous report and attention for both areas as far as maintenance is concerned. As for , the complementary compensation , you requested only free late check-out on which I agreed and offered an apology VIP that was sent to your Room to express our excuses . At last, we renew our deepest apologies for your unpleasant experience, hoping you enable us to welcome you once again with your toddler to make of your stay an enjoyable one Sincerely yours,

CON ARTISTS OPERATE HERE!!!
A con artist operates within the hotel. BEWARE!!!! He conned me for two days and coerced me into to purchasing thousands of dollars of fake rugs. He goes by "Michel" although I'm sure he changes it. DO NOT STAY HERE. Furthermore, the hotel AC was terrible as well as the Wifi.
