“Lovely location”

Stayed at the hotel as part of a corporate event. Beautiful setting. Room excellent. Breakfast extensive. Looking forward to returning.

“Thoroughly enjoyable stay”

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay which was on business and on my own. However I have already spoken to my husband about having a break here ourselves. The food was excellent and service just right, not too attentive, yet they seemed to know exactly when I needed something. The spa facilities were situated in the most lovely and unusual surroundings and I enjoyed being able to make use of these twice during my short stay.

“Map required”

Hotel is in a fabulous setting and has great views...but probably not from your room although we had a massive bed! Have stayed a few times before but still manage to find it a bit of a maze getting to the restaurant and bar if your room is at the back! Bar meals and breakfast is good. The Pool is great to use after a busy day . Didn't have any spa treatments but a good choice available. Golf course looks good but I don't play.

“comfortable room”

Pleased with our stay and had good friendly service from bar staff to cleaners. We would have preferred a single mattress instead of 2 together - but very wide bed was appreciated. Liked that an iron and and ironing board were provided in the room as we were staying for a wedding. Shower was best for shorter people - as the high bath/low ceiling meant that a 6' person banged their head on the light above the shower!

“Attending a family wedding”

After checking in finding your room is very difficult, there are doors and corridors everywhere. Grounds and elevation of the hotel is lovely. There for a wedding, wished we had stayed longer and played golf.

“Shabby chic in the countryside”

Beautiful period building with incredible views accross the countryside, but bits of damp, peeling paint and tired looking fitness facilities bring the overall score down.

“Not for quiet, romantic breaks”

The hotel is in a beautiful setting, and looks imposing. The staff at reception were very efficient. Our room was clean, small but sufficient. Breakfast the next morning was varied & plentiful. The problems arose at night. It caters for weddings AND hen parties, both of which were there. We tried to have a quiet drink in the courtyard bar but were put off by the Hen's playing silly games. The walls in the room are like paper. All night long (until .4.30am) I had to endure banging doors in the corridor, loud drunken people with no respect for others, and the sound of someone vomiting in the next room. I managed 2.5 hours sleep. We were celebrating our 1st wedding anniversary, and unfortunately it wasn't the quiet, relaxing, romantic break we expected.

“All you need, lacks some personality”

Rather a rabbit warren of corridors and internal steps. Great views and facilities. Perfect breakfast choices.
