“Great hotel”
From the moment we entered the hotel we were received very warmly. The staff were informitive, kind, helpful and professional. The breakfast was first class. We did not have one complaint about the hotel or staff. We would return again.
“Great hotel in historic area of Charleston”
A fine hotel in a great position. The room and service were excellent and I would recommend the hotel to anyone. Thanks very much for making my stay in Charleston so enjoyable.
“well located”
The hotel was clean and of a good standard and I would certainly use it again if in Charleston. The only problem encountered was a leaking AC unit grill in my Nephews room which constantly dripped preventing a good nights sleep. The hotel maintenance team seemed to have problems fixing it which I think was because of the age of the system. I personally had no complaints and can definately recommend the breakfast.
“One of the friendliest hotels ever”
We arrived very late and tired without our luggage. The hotel night staff were fantastic and provided us with everything we needed until our luggage arrived. All the staff were so frindly, the room was comfortable and the little extras like complimentary breakfast were definitely above average. Tea and coffee always available in the lobby plus iced water and cookies in the afternoon - a treat when arriving back after a dys sightseeing. We would dfintely go back - quite special
“Location, location, location.”
This hotel's location is second to none in Charleston, in my opinion. For the visitor (we don't drive) everything is within walking distance and the FREE trams stop outside. The visitor centre is on the other side of the road. The Battery, ferry to Fort Sumter, Aquarium, waterfront, shops and market are all walkable or reachable by tram. Perfect.
“An enjoyable visit”
The hotel is not in the historic district, which is about a 15 minute walk away. However there is a free trolley bus which stops across the road from the hotel and takes you down to the centre of the town. The hotel is quiet and clean. Breakfast is the standard buffet with tea and coffee available through the day. Reception staff were very helpful with information about local restaurants and tours, and made reservations for us. They also prompted us to go to the Visitors' Centre, which is just across the road from the hotel and which is also a good source of information and advice about local sights, transport, etc. It was pleasant to be able to sit in the hotel garden on a hot afternoon, and we found it a good base from which to visit this interesting and attractive town.
