We didn’t get toilet paper our last night there. Requested it at 4:30pm. Had to request it 4 times. Finally received it at 8pm. Other than that, the place and staff were amazing. Beautiful hotel. The young people who work at the door are fabulous!!!

Emeline is a very nice hotel, conveniently located to Charleston City Market, shopping, and restaurants. I liked everything about this hotel; however, our room on the first floor was very dark, with little lighting. We were located near the courtyard, and if we opened the curtains there were people sitting at the table right outside our window, so it was a little disconcerting that they could just peer directly into our room. Other than this, the hotel was nice. I would stay here again, just not on the first floor.

We had a really lovely suite and found the accommodations very comfortable. There was insufficient light in the bedroom. Our room overlooked the courtyard area rather than the street or the parking lot across from the hotel. The location was excellent and we walked everywhere. Our dog was very comfortable and happy at the hotel. We did have some problems getting housekeeping to make up the room when we were out (for hours) with our dog. Ultimately, the housekeeper entered our room despite the do not disturb sign hanging outside the door and we came back to find our dog supervising her bed making. Certainly there are dogs that might have attacked an intruder. To the hotel’s credit, we were VERY generously compensated for the issues. Overall, I’d say the hotel was lovely and we would definitely consider returning.

The hotel is well designed, high quality, but the service was a mess. Our room was given away for the first night, after some back and forth we were able to get our room the second night, there was no offer to make up the price difference, we had to ask, the luggage was supposed to be transferred for us, but wasn't until it was asked multiple times, the cafe was frequently out of food, no one told us about the bikes, in some photos there is a turntable, some not, there wasn't one in our room, our first floor room had none of the drink amenities the upper floors has, no one mentioned the airport shuttle option. The big ball drop was loosing our room, but a number of times the ball was dropped later.

Emeline is perfectly located for a wonderful weekend stay in Charleston. The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are quaint with plenty of space. The coffee shop downstairs is delicious and the bar/restaurant was always packed. You can walk to the Charleston market, King Street shops and historic district easily. There are so many restaurants nearby. Emeline is perfect!

Hotel is nice and staff was very accommodating but I was pretty shocked to learn the basic rooms have absolutely no place to put your clothes. I mean NO WHERE. No drawer. No closet. Nothing. There was barely room around the bed to place your suitcase without having to walk over it. I wish I had seen this in a review of the hotel before booking.

I loved this small boutique hotel. The location is perfect and the staff were very friendly and helpful. There was a free ‘Captains Hour’ when free wine and beer in the lobby. A nice touch. The only thing I saw was a dirty smear in the back area elevator that should be cleaned. It was there our whole stay and just want the cleaning crew to know about it. Everything else was great. Loved our breakfast waiter Jimmy!

What's not to like? We stayed at Emeline twice in one visit to the area, was not tempted to stay elsewhere. I wish I could live in one of their loft suites. Dog friendly, People friendly, Parking friendly, then wander around amazing Charleston.

I wish I could leave a 5-star review. Emeline is beautiful, has a fantastic location, easy-to-use valet, and is handicap accessible. The restaurant within Emeline is delicious and requires multiple visits amongst the different mealtimes. The rooms are cozy with plenty of amenities. The water machine on each floor (with the accompanying water bottles provided in each room) is an awesome addition with multiple choices in water types. My problem lies with the service I received from the maintenance team, their inability to fully fix the problem I had with my room for the ENTIRE STAY, and their inability to talk to me respectfully throughout the process. We stayed for 4 nights, and every single night I had to speak to someone at the front desk to send someone to fix the thermostat in our room. It was not working, and that fact was confirmed by the front desk staff. The room would heat up during the day to uncomfortable temperatures and would not cool when the outside temperatures dropped (which is proof that the room was not “heating up because of the sun” as the maintenance staff tried to have me believe). No other room experienced this issue. Instead, my daily request for maintenance to fix this problem was met with annoyed maintenance visits and condescending conversations when trying to fully explain the issue to them. They were never kind, caring, empathetic, or even just plain understanding. Not until our very last night were we even offered the chance to switch rooms.

The hotel is beautifully decorated and very clean. My room was on the 2nd floor closest to lobby and I never heard the music that is played in the lobby. The rooms are small so my suggestion is to add a wall hanging unit like I’ve seen in some Moxy hotels. The hotel entrance faces a parking lot and the nearest shops are very touristy or chains so felt as if I could be in any small city which is why I gave it an average for location. Overall, I would stay at the Emeline again.
