"Great Hotel, Great Staff, Reconstruction in area"
Everything was great except the entire area is under reconstruction - which sucks. I appreciate the efforts to revitalize - once it's finishied, I'm certain it will be magnificent. Hotel staff was simply the best. They AL took great interest/concern for our needs. Nearby park is a must see!

I chose this hotel because it was close to my conference venue and it had suites which made my life easier with a 10 month old baby
The hotel is right opposite the cathedral so is centrally located. If you haven't been to Christchurch since the earthquake then you need for be away it's still in the rebuild stage, is very quiet and quite deserted at night but that is to be expected
The rooms were large with a bedroom and bathroom upstairs in the mezzanine and a large lounge dining and kitchen downstairs. Fully equipped kitchen and full size fridge. Great facilities and a crazy selection of teas and plunger coffee included. Portacot provided at no cost too which was nice
The most equipped gym I have ever seen in a hotel, and I believe community have access to it and a 25m swimming pool, spa and sauna. Really wish I had been able to use these more.
You can park at the hotel for $25, directly across the road for $8 per 24 hours or a block down the road towards Latimer square there was plenty of free parking on the side of the road.
The staff member at checkin was lovely and even helped me carry my bag to my room as I was carrying the baby and other bags. She even rang and gave me a quick reminder that I would need to move my car to a park somewhere as directly in front of the hotel it's only a 5 minute check in zone
Very happy with the service and facilities and would definitely stay here again!

You have a choice in staying in the beautiful old house or the motel units at the rear.
We stayed in the very well appointed motel units, which had a kitchenette. They have been recently been refurbished. The units look onto a small courtyard.
