What an incredible welcome we had! We were made to feel right at home and incredibly welcome. The facilities in the room were excellent, all you could ask for and more. We have two small dogs and the welcome and facilities for them was far beyond anything we'd ever experienced before, let alone all the lovely surrounding walks. We dined here both nights and the food was truly excellent. The quality of the food and the care and attention by the staff at dinner and breakfast was second to none. We can't recommend The Hood Arms highly enough.
The perfect place for a short stay, food and facilities were excellent, room was clean and very well appointed. Owners were very friendly and helpful, couldn't have done more for us.
I’ve paid a lot more for much less in the past. Rooms were well-appointed, warm, tastefully decorated, and comfortable. Big king-size bed, well-equipped tea and coffee making area, beautiful en-suite with powerful, instantly hot shower and fluffy big white towels.
Breakfast was excellent, well cooked and presented.
Kind and friendly host, nothing too much trouble.
I spent a week working in the area and the Hood Arms was perfect for the stay.
Lovely, spacious room, with big bathroom. The breakfasts and food in the restaurant was first class.
The hosts, Paul and Tracey are welcoming and have a great staff working with them in the restaurant.
The only advice I would give fellow travellers is to pack some ear plugs if you are staying in summer and need open windows in a room at the front, as traffic noise is quite loud.
I would definitely return here to stay and highly recommend the Hood Arms.
Amazing place super comfortable - lady who ran it was lovely. Room lovely bath and shower great bed super comfy - homely feel to it as well. Good at night was restaurant quality and breakfast delicious. Parking right outside and honestly couldn’t have been any better in any way. Defo coming back!
Lovely old coaching inn, very welcoming staff, made it feel like a home from home.
Lovely room, only downside were the steep steps to the rooms when the pub side was shut so not suitable for anyone with mobility issues.
The food was excellent, very good value for money and nothing was too much trouble,
Would highly recommend.
A really friendly welcome, comfy bed and powerful shower along with a superb evening meal (make sure you book) and equally good breakfast. There are a few parking slots immediately outside the pub but are quite short but the village carpark across the road offers plenty of free parking as an overflow. Would stay again without any hesitation. Only a 20 min walk down the lane to Kilve Beach.
The whole team at the Hood Arms were so welcoming and accommodating. The room and en-suite bathroom were spotless and very comfortable, the breakfast was delicious and we will definitely be returning back soon!
Beautiful old pub with fantastic newly refurbished bedrooms and bathrooms. Impeccable taste. Our boys enjoyed playing pétanque in the lovely garden. Super comfy beds. Warm and friendly staff. Delicious food at reasonable prices. Yes it’s on a busy country road but there was no traffic after 10.30 so we slept well. It was so close to Kilve beach, that we walked there. Son found a huge fossil. Wished we had stayed longer. Only an overnight stop for a quick visit along Nth Devon coast before heading to South Devon. Would definitely recommend staying here. What a find!
The property is a sensitively updated and maintained listed building. We liked the comfortable furnishings and warm friendly atmosphere.
The location is on a sometimes busy road that can be noisy.
Super stay! Room and bathroom were clean, pretty and peaceful; food was abundant, fresh, supporting local producers and service was excellent. I look forward to coming back! Thank you lots!
Warm welcome- Lawrence was friendly and attentive.
The room was great.
The owner ‘Paul’ is born & bred in the that area- extremely knowledgeable about walks etc We had a delightful hour or two doing the circular route along the coast at Kilve Beach.
We had a fabulous bar meal during our stay and the breakfast was superb. Overall I would highly recommend a stay at this lovely historic pub. We will be returning!
Lovely freehouse pub with great food and comfortable accommodation. The staff were all extremely welcoming and well mannered. The ensuite bathroom, with freestanding bath and separate shower was spotless and looked like new. Our bed was enormous and very comfortable. The noise of motor vehicles passing outside our window disturbed our sleep a bit but that’s to be expected given that the hotel is on a main road - perhaps some secondary glazing would prevent this.
All in all we really enjoyed our stay and would visit again. Thank you
