We loved the partial over the water bungalow. We were fascinated by the fish, turtles and sharks that were visible from the deck especially at night with a spotlight on. The salt water pool was pristine in cleanliness and guests usually remained quiet. We could snorkel from provided ladders on the property. Some fish were seen but highly recommend taking a lagoon tour. Food served in the restaurant was tasty and reasonably priced for the region. We especially want to praise the owners and their daughter for the exceptional attention and care they heaped upon us. The bungalow interior was sparce and a little outdated but clean. Mattress was very firm. An overhead fan and island breezes was plenty to keep us comfortable in the heat and humidity. We will definitely stay here again if we have the gift of returning.

The fact that it’s close to the port departure (free transfer from and to the aéroport navettes) when you know most transfer cost between 20 to 30 dollars each. The shopping area as well as the super market to get your quality food and wine and others are 4 minutes by car, u can even walk there 😊. Heivai who runs the place seem to be on point with everything. Very sharp and kind , accommodating woman.

The overwater bungalow has a great view. We booked this lodging specifically for the overwater bungalow. The area was very quiet which we appreciated. There are plenty of places to eat within walking distance. We had one of our best meals at the food truck located a short walk from the lodge. There is a gas station with convenient store also a short walk with water and coffee as well as pastries. We would definitely stay here again. Tom was extremely helpful and very pleasant. He picked us up from the ferry and dropped us off. He was very knowledgeable about the area and pointed out everything we needed to know about along the way to the lodge. Thank you Tom for all your help and hospitality!

The property was close in the center of where all of the shopping and dinners are at. You get to experience how the local’s experience bora bora. You can’t beat the price for the stay.

Oa Oa has an old world charm. Well maintain property. Tom is enthusiastic, friendly and always ready to assist. Our bungalow is perfect. Quiet, great view and feel. You are in the midst of locals. Can get a little feel of their everyday life.

This property is family owned and they make you feel like part of it. We had everything we needed and just loved the service staff and restaurant. Beautiful views! Property is on the older side but well maintained. Only drawback was no AC in our room.

Notre séjour était excellent. Le cadre est magnifique. Il est certain que ce n'est pas neuf, mais la beauté l'emporte. C'était très confortable. Très propre Il n'y a pas de climatisation. Nous avons pris la chambre sur pilotis. Il manque une petite gazinière dans la cuisine, ou même un BBQ.le personnel est gentil. La piscine Infinity est superbe, surtout le soir. Nous n'avons pas mangé au restaurant.

Excellent service from Harvei. Although it rained most of the time we enjoyed our stay. Wonderful pool and tropical grounds. Need more lights on the grounds for better glow and to see. Restaurant and bar was closed most of the time due to holidays. Internet was not working in our room so no TV or use of cell phones.

The over water bungalow was nice and the staff very friendly and helpful. Perhaps unfairly we came from the Four Seasons Bora Bora so it was a large step in terms of resort offerings and amenities (except staff which again were wonderful).

As mentioned many times in prior reviews, the family run establishment is excellent! I was picked up at the peer and taken to the resort by a very friendly and helpful lady, recommending activities. The young lady at check in was also extremely helpful in recommending and arranging a tour for me. My bungalow has a stunning view, over the water. Everyone has been helpful and friendly.

We honeymooned at the Hotel Oa Oa 35 years ago and went back to see the changes that come with 35 years. They did some major upgrades to the hotel which were nice. The amount of new building and increase in traffic was disappointing but should be expected in a place like that.

Fantastic stay in beautiful over-water bungalow!
We had an amazing time at the Oa Oa Lodge, with its beautiful Polynesian style bungalows. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The family-run property is well kept and made us feel welcome and at home, they helped us schedule activities and gave us good recommendations. The bungalow (over-water) was excellent and had everything needed, it was so great to wake up with the ocean breeze and lagoon views, and we spotted an eagle ray and sting ray just by our bungalow. Breakfast was very good. Diving center on-site was excellent, and very convenient as they pick up right at the lodge dock. We had great dives with them. The lodge is about a 15min walk to town & groceries, or an easy bike ride. Overall we highly recommend Oa Oa Lodge, and found it to be exceptional value for the price!

Juste pour une nuit mais si j'avais pu j'y serai rester plus. La vue est magnifique, petit déjeuner devant la piscine. L'accueil était superbe et chaleureux avec toute les information importante et ils m'ont même aidé à organiser mon tour pour le lendemain car je changer d'hôtel. Le seul hic je ne pouvais pas avoir accès au wifi de mon bungalow.

We really enjoyed the views and sunsets from #3 waterfront room. Very spacious and comfortable. The pool and surrounding tables were lovely with great views. Do not book the other units as the road noise is unbearable eventhough the rooms are large and the kitchenette is slightly functional. Staff friendly but not around much and in fact the place seemed deserted at times. Enjoyed the breakfast! No restaurant.

We spent 2 nights at the Oa Oa Lodge and there’s no doubt that the best part is the value. Great service, fantastic people, and a really nice property. We also spent a night at a resort and really appreciated the genuine and authentic experience of Oa Oa Lodge. I am so happy we did 2 nights here and only 1 night at a fancy resort. The best food in French Polynesia can be found at a food truck and the nicest people are everywhere.

The room was large and comfortable. Air conditioning and the ability to cook food were huge plusses. Really the only downside was the road noise. Our room did have an electrical problem so we were moved to a different location (Oa Oa Village) which was truely amazing! Heivai at the fron desk was very pleasant and super helpful. All the staff was really great!

Unique bungalow with great location. Staffs are so helpful and friendly. It’s the first lodge in Bora Bora island with beautiful ocean or garden view. Close to St. James shopping center and Bora Bora Yacht Club. Great experience with beautiful memories!

Budget Bora Bora
This allowed us a budget way to experience over water bungalows which I loved. The bungalow is a beautiful wooden structure with an ample side bathroom. This is an older structure and some updating still needs doing such as shades on lights. It is definitely worth the price and we even snorkelled under our bungalow. There is an infinity pool and lounge chairs as well as tables and chairs in a covered area where you can enjoy the outdoors. Unfortunately, the restaurant is still being renovated and was not open but it looks lovely and will no doubt add to the experience. The location is great being a short walk to stores and restaurants but unfortunately there are no real sidewalks or street. That picked us up and dropped us off at the ferry which was most helpful.

Staff was super friendly. She showed us to the room and even booked us a tour. She also arranged our transfers back to the airport so basically took care of everything for our last day. The view from the room over the water is amazing. Only downside so far is the room doesn’t come with AC and bathroom door doesn’t close.

This property was wonderful - a little oasis - the over water bungalows are just fantastic. The property is currently undergoing a refurb & it will be amazing when it’s finished! We will definitely be back!! The staff were so lovely!

The view was great, with a price. The room is not closed on the ceiling, you have roosters at 3 am, at 5am you have all the small boats going out fishing, and the cars traffic started about 5:30am. If you have a big cruse ship in front you hear all the dancing and singing until 11pm that they finish. So if you are lucky you get 6 hrs of silence. The pool was great, the breakfast small, even when you have dishes to use you don't have anything to wash them with. It was awesome to be on the water and look at the fish, others got in the water to snorkel.

We spent one night at the Oa Oa Lodge before heading off to another resort. And I have to say, our lone night there was great. For the price, this place could not be beat. We stayed in the garden room which was only about 10 feet from the ocean so can't complain about that. Nice room with sliding windows that open up the entire side of the room. We also had a nice deck to take in the evening ocean breeze. However, we did have a crab come into our room that night which was a bit surprising. The pool was fantastic! Very deep for diving in and the infinity edge overlooked the bay. I sat on the edge just looking out over the scenery for a good amount of time. Check in was easy and they even picked us up from the dock when we arrived which was a great treat. There was a market and restaurants in walking distance so we could grab some alcohol when needed. Also walked down to the St James which has amazing food. Thank you for the excellent stay!

I can’t say enough great things about this hotel. It is as advertised; even better. I stayed in Bora-Bora for six days by myself at the Oa Oa. I felt welcomed, comfortable, peaceful and part of their awesome community. It is located close to the town so that you can walk or bike to the market every day. I really got the local experience. My stay was perfect and I don’t think that would be possible without staying at the Oa Oa. The Mgmt and staff are very welcoming, professional, and knowledgeable.

The one-man staff was friendly but it was very strange felt like we were the only ones staying. The restaurant was closed and the pool was under construction. There's no beach here so we just basically used this place to sleep and went off to other areas of the island each day.

The bungalows are really nice all in wood. they are spacious and fresh, with a ceiling fan and AC. The lodge is right on the sea and you can both swim directly in the sea or in the swimming pool. Vaitape is an easy 15 min walking, but there is a petrol station right next to the lodge that also has a minimarket, as well as dining "roulotte" There is no food service, but we knew it and we are ok with that, there is a kitchenette in the bungalow so that you can make some food and eat on the decked terrasse. The only thing to upgrade would be the toilet light which is really not strong enough. The staff is really friendly and always around in case you need some info. Overall we loved this place I would suggest you go there if you are in the mainland Bora Bora. Also the price is really good for the quality
