Excellent stay the only down side was the restaurant being closed. The staff were very helpful in arranging a takeaway meal.

Nice for a short break
Overall good value for a lovely location. Nice pool, friendly and helpful staff. Room was nice size and comfortable. Breakfast was ok though not a great choice - but it was complementary. You need a car or be a keen walker to get around.

Hi there, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, we really appreciate your kind words. Our breakfast selection is limited at present, which - as you mention- is why it is complementary. Currently due to staffing we are unable to offer a cooked breakfast but felt it was important to at least give our guests a small selection of continental items to eat in or take away. Lovely hotel, but no food on for the evening! And only a sub standard continental breakfast available! Best pool in a hotel, good gym and big sauna.

Sorry to hear the breakfast did not meet your expectations, we do take all feedback on board and aim to improve where possible. In terms of our restaurant being closed on certain days this a measure we have had to take to ensure the future of the business - we can only apologise this affected your stay- we have tried to make the opening times very clear for anyone looking to book to stay with us but appreciate you may have arrived expecting it to be open. Horrendous hotel, old, dated, poor service, no hot food option, furniture falling apart, no staff around, very very poor, won’t ever use again

Lovely place lovely people but restaurants were closed so had to get takeaway all weekend, and if ur ocd about cleanliness of the room, well here goes, the toilet rim was black! Dirty tiles in bathroom! Bird poo on nets on balcony door , the night light didn’t work on balcony, cups and glasses were dirty , but I didn’t complain

The hotel and grounds were lovely. However now a bit tired. The main issue was the lack of care by the management. Lack of signage and local information. Breakfast was poor with missing/stale items and poor choice . Real shame as it was obviously lovely and could be again

Mouldy property, got to check in and was told no restaurant or bar as advertised. Had to pay to hire the robes for swimming pool at extortionate amount, room was filled with Smokey Snell as somebody having open fire nearby! Very expensive and very run down ! Not happy at all! Poor girl working the leisure facilities running the reception also ! Who did her very best to help us but unfortunately management clearly let her down and left her to struggle. Refund!

Old, badly maintained hotel. Pitch black corridors due to blown bulbs. Most things half broken in the room. There was a table tennis table with old bats broken and one without handle. Very expensive for very little quality. Definitely felt short changed.

couple 4 night stay
The AC was not working, so the room was hot. The decor is a bit old and worn, but it was pleasant. The breakfast was hard going, the staff worked hard, but you had to keep asking for things like forks, glasses and the English breakfast kept running out of items and again you had to ask for them. I think if the hosts had just been a little more aware, they could pre-empt this and make it more comfortable for guests. We were warned via email to expect a drop in service, it was a distraction, but I feel solvable with just a little more attention.

Relaxing, quiet and beautiful gardens 5 stars
We loved our stay and will definitely come again! Fabulous 20ft pool and steam room helped us relax. The gardens were extensive, a green oasis with well kept paths, fountains and fish pool. And its SO quiet! With millions of stars visible from the balcony at night.

One of the most spacious hotel rooms I have ever seen and excellent condition. Unfortunately the air-con didn't appear to be working...as it was humid, it didn't help for a good sleep. Staff were friendly and helpful. Good range of on site facilities and parking. Overall, pleased to have booked with this hotel.

Stayed here while away for work there was no chef so couldn’t have proper food jus a micro meal with was rank and no breakfast in the morning, there was a bottle of water in the room witch on opening and taking a sip tasting gone off I was left with a very bad stomach and diarrhoea the next day phoned the hotel and couldn’t really care

Great facilities, friendly staff & good value for money. Lots of free parking on site but they don’t have EV chargers, only a 3 pin plug socket which takes a eternity to charge a car. Overall well worth a visit.

Staff were friendly & helpful. Food was good, but not much variety for vegans. Room was excellent with balcony. Very clean & tidy. You need a car to stay here though. Tels Taxi's charged £30 from Bodmin Parkway train station to the Hotel & £13 to Weybridge (where you catch the bus to Padstow). Breakfast is overpriced at £15. I would recommend people to this Hotel but you need a car as in rural location.

Poor service, uncomfortable room and expensive.
Family room had small pull out sofa bed too small for two people to sleep in comfortably. The mattress was lumpy and one could feel the springs through, we requested a man additional quilt to sleep on and we’re given a single quilt? Ultimately this sofa bed couldn’t be slept on and all slept In one bed. The guest above could be heard all night through the very loud and creaking floor boards. The door directly outside our room would close and it would aggressively rattle and shake our room door. At dinner our sons burger was simply cut in half and served in a bun, the remainder of the order had issues with a lack of care on ingredients (bacon in burger) this resulted in dinner being served at different times When leaving hotel we notified reception of the issues and we’re told flatly to email the manager. Would not recommend and will avoid in future

Hotel OK, but very tired & in need of re-furb. We stayed in July & the heating was on, so extremely hot!! Slept with our balcony doors open, but was kept awake by noisy wedding guests - if there's a wedding on, ask for a room as far away as possible
