It’s a nice hotel in the south side close to the South Train station, it’s walkable to Tian’anmen and forbidden city and mesumes ( I love walking around). Bus stops and subway station are available too. Hotel have Beijing Opera show every night with English subtitles on the screen which is very nice.Breakfast is good with lots of choices.
Not much food options around the area.
Good location.
Bed was extremely hard and bathroom walls are alittle mouldy.
Very minimal amenities given. Bathrobes have yellow stains on them, gross. Housekeeper was friendly but conceirge is fierce.
Very limited English spoken at front desk. My room was rife with cigarette smoke and requested a novel. This took a while to accomplish . Concierge was Iill equipped like. Breakfast buffet is lovely.
As an English speaking guest checking into a Chinese hotel, I was amazed at how quickly the front desk manager assisted the registration clerks sort out my reservation and quickly give me my room key. Great service for a tired traveler in a strange land. Buffet breakfast had lots of choices from Chinese to American. Terrific dumplings in cafe.
DIRTY AND MOULDY. Most of the reviews are fake so be aware. The washroom was absolutely disgusting. There was black and brown mould everywhere from the shower to the walls, the sink and the floor. Green mould or something gross on the toilet paper holder. The shower curtain was red from mould on the bottom and looked like it hasn't been cleaned in 20 years. Room is carpeted and stained. Terrible location! This hotel is so far out of the way from anything. The room we were in was on a no smoking floor however all we could smell was the stench of cigarette smoke. I have asthma so this was very frustrating. We asked the receptionist for a good place to eat or what direction to walk but she didn't understand English nor did she try to help. Instead spoke Chinese to another girl working next to her and ignored us mid sentence while we were still talking to her. WHAT THE HECK!? Nobody speaks English and nobody tries to help you. This hotel should be taken off of every booking site. I've been traveling southeast Asia and China for 3 months straight and this was by far THE WORST hotel I've been in and the WORST customer service. 1 star is generous since I can't give a zero rating.
Stayed here for 4 nights total - everything was neat, clean, and pleasant. Breakfast was great! Staff knew english, so that was helpful. No conditioner for your hair though :(
It's absolutely amazing - classic decor, very clean and comfortable, dillicious buffet breakfast with both traditional Chinese and American food, close to attractions and public transportation, close to many restaurants and shopping, a small Peking opera house on-site... Will definitely go back!!!
Good 4 star hotel near Hufangqiao MRT on line 7, about 7 mins walk. Convenient to Beijing West Railway station where I was headed after check out. Good facilities and nice sized and comfortable. Reasonable priced for a 4 star too. But could stay nearer to the central nearer to MRT Line 2.
This is a very comfortable hotel with good food and a fun Peking Opera show. I stayed for 5 nights before and during a tour. The price for the hotel on hotels.com was exceptional. The hotel is also very well located. I didn't realize how close we were to several important sites or I would have done more walking, especially because the traffic is so bad. Walking is often nearly as fast as taking a taxi. The staff apparently thought that walking a mile or two was more than we would have wanted to do and discouraged us from walking. I recommend this hotel.

Mediocre spot
The spot was overall mediocre. The breakfast was plentiful but truthfully I wasn't a fan of much/any of the food that they had. The neighbourhood wasn't that great, also.

Convenient hotel
Decent hotel, not fancy. Rooms are clean. Close to the metro station.
The location in terms of cultural events and tourist attractions was ideal. Room was above average compared with other hotels during our stay in China.
Dissappointed regarding hotel condition, being a 4star rated hotel. Rooms and hallways smelt of smoke even being nonsmoking.
Cleanliness in room not good enough.
AC turned off in hotel, leaving a need to use open window during night. Heavy traffic in street outside made it challenging.
For our sightseeing the location gave much time spent in traffic jam.

Fantastic Service
Good Service attitude in Food and Beverage. However, hotel should have choice of simple breakfast at fair price, instead of just buffet style breakfast.
An ok budget hotel but I'd look elsewhere if possible-- closer to subway. It's a hike to get to major sites or subway. Bathrooms are very moldy.

Nice classic hotel
Qian Men Jian Guo was well located for what I wanted to do. It's a classic hotel that has been renovated. Its foreign currency exchange won't cash traveler's cheques (they say it has something to do with their license from the Bank of China). The toilet tank needed a new rubber flapper in the bottom; it ran continuously, making noise and wasting water. A light bulb in a bed lamp was burned out. I reported both to management and had a personal e-mail from the manager saying those things would be attended to. Breakfast was very good with lots of choices, and the staff were pleasant and friendly. They spoke passable English, although my ability to speak Chinese was helpful.
friendly staff and rooms very clean and comfortable. wi fi was a problem though - kept dropping out. breakfast good in restaurant. close to acrobat theatre.
Beijing traffic is horrible, hence the hotel location is very important.
We were disapointed that the nearest MRT station is a good 20 minutes walk
taxi is hard to come by and most of them operate w/o meters
the people are un helpfull and most of the time clueless...
