Was very much looking forward to our 6 night stay at the Morrit Arms Hotel. Using it as a base for our holiday in County Durham and further. We original booked up at Morrit to include our pet dog but unfortunately our pet dog became very unwell while we were on The Yorkshire Moors prior to arriving at the Morrit and had to be put to sleep. The reception was informed of this when we arrived, but we were still put in the pet freindly room. We are all well aware of Covid 19, but no where on their site did they mention there would be no room cleaning or servicing of rooms during our stay. On numerous occasions when had to ask for stocks of tea/coffee/milk clean bathroom towels as well as clean bedding after 4 days. The service at breakfast was a complete joke with not 1 of our 6 nights stay going without a problem whether it was missing cutlery, missing orders, no milk when given cereals and the list goes on. One night we wanted to have a drink from the bar to be drunk outside in the garden but all garden lights were turned off, so we found ourselves in darkness. We were told to wear masks while walking around the hotel but this only seamed to apply to my wife and l. At the end of our stay and after paying our bill l noticed they had charged us the extra £10 for a dog we did not have. We will never stay there again. The place in a joke. Just a quick shout out to 3 employees the 2 night managers and Dawn in the breakfast room nice people, and good at their jobs.
