“Can't wait to come back again!”

The main pulling point of this hotel is the location, being on top of a hill at Tibadabo, with stunning views overlooking Barcelona. It's a beautiful old building, built in the 20's that has been tastefully restored into a modern boutique hotel. The sauna/spa area with the indoor/outdoor pool is full of contemporary stainless steel, with an infinity pool overlooking Barcelona. Both the indoor and outdoor pool are open all year round, however the inside/outside glass panel is shut during the winter to keep the indoor part of the pool warm. I was fortunate to be allocated a room with a double balcony, one overlooking the mountains where I could see the snow capped Pyrenees, and another with a view of Barcelona and partial sea view. I would highly recommend this hotel as a superior 5* hotel, which is a member of the 'Small Leading Hotels of the World'. Expedia offer this hotel at an amazing price which encouraged me to stay here a 2nd time. Pure luxury.

“Great hotel but a potential expensive aftertaste”

A very well kept and stylish hotel with great facilities and staff with a can do attitude. Well situated out of town affording you peace and quiet away from the hussle and bussle of the main centre.

“outstanding views of barceloa”

The only dissapointment was the waiter service on the patio - slow and not up to the standard of the rest of the hotel or staff. The hotel desk should also find out the cost of cab trips into town and to the airport as we were ripped off big time by taxi drivers which is very annoying.

“will be back”

it's not often we say that. The hotel was beautiful staff excellent we did nt have a room with a view of the city but we were not in the room enough for it to make any difference to the stay. Sitting out on the deck relaxing was great. It was a quiet time so not may at breakfast it waas expensive but it is a 5 star hotel dinner in restaurant waas great with very attentive staff. bar snacks not a great selection and not much too them walk up the hill to the top of the hill and a restaurant with cheaper food and good view was more than adequate. Taxi home at night 34 euros +tip planned trip in on hotel bus booked the day before. Pool and facilities perfect Loved it

“A wonderful experience”

It was my 60th birthday and my dear wife wanted to treat me to a romantic long weekend to Barcelona. We chose La Gran Florida as our base and from the moment we arrived we knew we had made a great choice. Our welcome at the hotel was absolutely superb, check in efficient and friendly and service impeccable. Our room was stunning with views stretching miles. I could go on and on but both my wife and I agreed that this was the best hotel we had ever stayed at. In fact we loved it so much we didn't venture into Barcelona at all preferring to enjoy the hotel instead. The stainless steel pool, the secluded sun decks and the position high on a hill overlooking the whole of Barcelona are good enough reasons alone worth checking in. However, the food is as spectacular as the setting. Most important of all every member of staff from the manager to the bell hop made us feel really special. I have seen reviews refering to the hotel as expensive but I would prefer to describe it as exceptional value for money when you receive this level of service and quality. We have vowed to return at the earliest opportunity. After many years in the travel industry I strongly urge you to experience this wonderful hotel.

“Fabulous Hotel -Too Far Outside Barcelona!”

The hotel itself is fantastic, picturesque views, beautifully decorated, however I would not return to this hotel purely because it is so far outside of Barcelona. A taxi from Barcelona to the hotel cost us 21 Euro's, there is a free bus that the hotel provide but this is not frequent enough and finishes at 8pm. To conclude if you are looking for a gorgeous hotel and don't intend to do much sight-seeing etc. then this is a perfect hotel.

“Ultimate for a relaxing break !”

staff attentive and friendly (and bilingual - at least!) service excellent, although my room wasn't made up one morning - a phone call to reception had a two girl team on site within 5 minutes! Breakfast a tad pricey, but on a three day break who cares. The hotel is well on the outskirts of Barcelona, about a 15 euro taxi ride, but the views are worth every penny (cent?)

“Peaceful Haven Overlooking Bustling Barcelona”

Wonderfully hospitable staff - could not do enough for us. Champagne upon arrival was a lovely touch after flight and taxi ride from the airport. Spa and pool were easily some of the best I have seen in Europe. Hotel restaurant expensive but absolutely superb and the service was impeccable - a real rival to Moo in downtown Barcelona!
