Hotels near Barachois Shopping Center

From what I could tell this establishment had little to offer other than a nice place to eat. The beach was not very nice, particularly when 15 minutes up the road was the beautiful public flic en flac beach. I wanted to dive but the on-site operator was mysteriously closed and the desk was unable to obtain a reservation elsewhere. Instead I ended up driving around for nearly three hours on my own trying to find something else. I would have rather spent a bit more money and been someplace with better amenities.

From first arriving the whole holiday was exceptional, all features were at a high standard, in fact this has set a very difficult benchmark for our future holidays.

This is an excellent hotel with really good facilities overseen and provided by a team of dedicated staff led by a first class management team directly involved in the provision of excellent service to clients, who really matter to them. The cleaning staff and gardeners and the personnel between the "top and the bottom" of the "pecking order" clearly demonstrating a caring ethos, which really mattered to them and their clients, whose needs were courteously and efficiently responded to, with a very friendly face and corresponding disposition. The management team are hands on and really good role models to other staff, who are obviously well motivated and supported by them in their joint task to deliver an excellent service to clients.

The hotel was amazing. We loved it. It was like being in paradise. Loved the water aerobics every morning at 10.30 :) If you looking to just relax and do nothing and want for nothing this is the place.

This guesthouse is lovely location and Peaceful with a capital P. Dreamy beach and garden, comfortable rooms, clean and roomy. There is a supermarket nearby to buy picnic food, books, or any forgotton items. there is also a very good restaurant nearby (The Bay) for meals, drinks/coffee on the sea front. The guesthouse is ideal for families, the beach is very safe and sandy. Staff are friendly and helpful. It is important to note that this is not a hotel, and the level of service reflects this. A word of warning, the food is good but very expensive. We were not told at the beginning of our stay how much our evening meals would cost and we got a shock when we settled the bill. Josette, the owner, prides herself on her hospitable approach to the 'table d'hote' which allows guests to eat together 'en famille'. This is fine if you are feeling sociable, and are compatible with the other guests. There is no choice with the food, which encouraged us to be adventurous and to eat food we would not have chosen and so were given a taste of Mauritius. In my opinion at E20 per head it is overpriced and we would have eaten better at The Bay. my other gripes: coffee is instant, margarine, not butter is served at breakfast, milk was UHT, not fresh, etc, but as I say, this is a guesthouse not a hotel. Also the hot water is temperamental and I was forced to have cold showers on three occasions. However, I would recommend Les Latiniers as the plus points outweigh the small gripes.

We stayed at Sugar Beach for a week in January 2014. We were recommended by a friend to stay here and it completed surpassed all expectations. The hotel was amazing, the main area, buildings, grounds, pool and beach were beautiful and immaculate. The staff were so friendly and helpful and made our stay really special and enjoyable. The restaurants were amazing with a great selection of food included in the all inclusive package, along with restaurants at the sister hotel. We shall definitely be going back!
