A sort two days stay but we were very impressed with the villa and the friendly and attentive staff. The meals were also excellent as was the afternoon tea which was gratis. The resort is in a quiet area and covers a number of acres bordering in rice fields. Also appreciated the free shuttle service to Canggu. Overall an excellent experience and we would recommend it to anyone who likes peace, tranquility, comfort and a friendly staff, and all at a reasonable cost.

We stayed in the two-bedroom private pool villa, which exceeded our expectations. They are actually two separate little villas, so we had ample space. The grounds and pools are absolutely beautiful and the staff is warm and friendly—we would definitely go back.

Nice resort
The resort as well as the staff are amazing. Very nice place, close to a natural environment, clean and comfortable. Staff are also friendly and accommodating. However, the location is slightly far from other attractions if you are intending to walk. Furthermore, taxis and grab or GOJEK are not allowed to pick up (only drop off) from the resort. Nevertheless, this resort is recommended especially if you just intend to relax and enjoy the resort facilities.

It seemed as though the hotel wasn’t fully open with limited activities and anytime you wanted a drink by the pool it seemed a mission to find a member of staff.

Great value for the price
I was very satisfied with my overall stay and service at Plataran. It started with the complementary shuttle from the airport, which took about an hour. I stayed in one of the private pool villas and I could not have been happier. I knew I made the right choice because I was looking for a quiet, serene location, away from the city noise. I enjoyed walking around the beautiful green alleys. Everywhere was picture perfect. I only went out to the restaurant or the spa. At the spa, their service is immaculate. The staff was also very curteous. They attended to all of my needs. Food was also good. This was great value for the price!

Peaceful retreat
Resort made up of 21 villas each with a plunge pool. Set in extensive tropical gardens some distance from the nearest beach. Delightful friendly and very efficient staff. The restaurant serves good breakfasts and evening meals at a very reasonable price. It is not a hotel that is wheelchair friendly as all the villas are accessed through tropical gardens and across small bridges.

Great Place
I stayed here for seven days and it was fantastic. I booked a grand private pool villa and it was amazing. The pool was the best part; I was in it every day. The spa is amazing and so is the staff. It was easy to get to Seminyak and Kuta beaches with the complimentary shuttle service the resort offers. I already miss Plataran...cant wait to go back.

Best of Bali
If you appreciate a bit of serenity, exceptional service from friendly staff and a beautiful setting - this is the place for you! I cannot say enough about the staff at Plataran - they will do absolutely everything they possibly can to ensure you enjoy your trip. The grounds are kept immaculate with an abundance of wildlife and plants/flowers and everyone stops to wish you a friendly good morning. Food wise, we couldn't have been happier. My partner and I are vegan and they made us a special breakfast everyday (whatever we chose) and there's a vegan menu too for lunch and dinner. If you have any dietary requirements, this is the place for you. Make sure you do the traditional Balinese lunch class. The chef takes you to the local market to show you the more unusual ingredients native to the area and then back to the hotel for a cooking course. You only pay for the food and it's great fun. Rooms are also amazing, we were a bit nervous about the outdoor bathrooms but ended up loving it - there's daily pest control to keep the mosquitoes at bay and the worst you'll see is a cute frog or gecko - both of which they'll relocate if you're not a fan. Private pool was great although we spent most of our time during the day exploring Bali. Would also recommend one of the tours - driver is very knowledgeable and will drive you where you want all day for a very reasonable price. Honestly can't recommend Plataran enough - thank you to all of the staff!

Absolutely perfect!
We stayed 8 nights in Bali- 4 different hotels- stayed at the Plataran on the last - boy were we sad about that! Wish we would have stayed there our entire visit! The hotel is so comfortable - nothing I would improve. Wayan the manager and all his staff went out of their way to assure we were delighted. I would highly recommend this gem of a hotel.

Nice but remote
Plataran was nice - all the rooms are villas so you have your own small pool (I never like small pools because not much sun) and a nice day bed on the balcony. The rooms are simple but they have everything you need and are pleasant. The bathrooms are outdoors which is pretty common in Bali but I can't stand because you can't avoid bugs (esp mosquitos). The best part of the resort is the large common pool (there is also a smaller one), it was v rustic and calm - great place to spend the day. The downsides are that Plataran is near nothing, you have to get a cab everywhere, even to places in Canggu. The resort has a van but if you don't reserve in advance it is not always avail. Also the grounds are a bit unkept - I thought it added to the charm but my friend found it messy.

Lovely, Private Villas with Amazing Staff
Plataran threw an Amazing Wedding for friends of ours. Majority of the guests, including myself, stayed at the resort. The service and facilities are second to none. Only being a stone throw away from Central areas, this is certainly on of Balis best hideaways. I speak for many when i say we will be back soon, and i look forward to seeing the staff again, who made the experience far exceed my expectations. Thank you again!

Beautiful resort
The staff is very friendly and attended to any needs we had. The resort grounds are beautiful, felt like a Balinese village more than a hotel. There are Mosquitos and they do get into the rooms, and the bathroom, which is outside. Bathing and showering in the outdoor bathroom would have been much more enjoyable without Mosquitos but hey, you're in Bali, there are Mosquitos pretty much wherever you go, just know that before going. Overall I would stay here again.

A Hidden Gem
Plataran was a lovely oasis among the craziness of Bali. The staff were wonderfully caring. We stayed in a 2 Bedroom Pool Villa for 3 nights (which is actually 2 separate villas, one behind the other) with our 3 and 5 year old boys, who thought it was incredible cool they had their own 'house'. Plataran is around a 10 minute drive from Seminyak, however the resort offers free shuttles at set times. We found the restaurant prices to be a little costly, so ate out for 2 of the 3 nights. We would definitey return to Plataran.

Outstanding and so perfect for so many reasons !
Amazing and so much more !! Elegant, traditional Balinese decor from the lobby to the villas, it is a feast for the eyes. Everywhere you look it's so perfect, not overdone, simple and so so tasteful. The villas are scattered amongst magnificent lush gardens. It is truly a paradise (and not one mosquito!). The staff are the most beautiful, humble and helpful people I have ever met and I will never forget any of them. The food was insanely beautiful and very well priced. They grow their own herbs and the chef is amazing at creating beautiful flavoursome dishes. Having a health/spa on site where you can have massages and then retreat to your villa is the most relaxing, rejuvenating holiday possible. Every night we had little treats left on our back patio. I have travelled to many places and seen many hotels, the Plataran is by far one of my favourites !!

Lovely place, but too far from Seminyak. Rooms where not secure, Wifi is slow when its corrected, as this is not available all the time. Appears to be turned off from 10pm to 7am. Expensive by Bali standards Nice place to stay if you want to have an expensive holiday and not be disturbed. Staff where pleasant.

Very nice hotel.
Very nice hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. Garden are massive and very well kept. Great hideaway type of hotel. Each residence is well protected from the next. Restaurant prices well over priced for the size of the meals and what I would expect from other hotels. WiFi extremely annoying as when many people are on it is super slow. Also had to log in every 5 mins or couldn't log in at all. Other than those small things everything else was delightful. Would definitely recommend to other people.

Great family-run boutique resort
Great stay overall. Service was top notch and room was spacious, all of which came at a reasonable price. The greatest thing about this resort is that it's built in typical Balinese style, as opposed to a modern cosmopolitan look, to us it was very special. The spa was pretty good too.

A place to get away from it all
Very quiet resort 2 hour drive from Denpasar. Great for a honeymoon. Black sand beach deserted except for local fishermen. Resort pool was pleasant. Service was great. Such lovely gentle staff. Food was good for Bali. Rooms are very private and outdoor bathroom the same. TV worked, Internet intermittent but it is a remote part of Bali. Had massages and my daughter had a facial which were excellent. This is a wonderful spot to really rest up.

So Authentic
If you want an affordable 4 star resort, with peaceful, relaxing and romantic surroundings, then this is the place to stay. The grounds and room were immaculate. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and the food at the restuarant was delicious and affordable (we ate most of our meals here and tried many of the cocktails). There's a free shuttle that takes you to Seminyak, Legian or Kuta Central and often you can a negotiate a time to be picked up if its not more than a couple hours. However taxis are cheap in Bali, just make sure you only use Bluebird taxis that show drivers ID and a meter. Going by the meter is always cheaper, but if you need them for a long trip or most of the day, negotiate a return price. Traffic in Bali is a nightmare! If you want to be amongst all the action, then stay in Kuta or Legian. We found we needed to plan our day well so you dont spend most of it in a taxi! Otherwise, the hotel location is really beautiful with nice scenery and rice paddies. We felt like we experienced the real culture up in Kerobokan. Would def recommend to friends and go back.

Terrible location, dimly lit overpriced rooms with poor level of service for the price. Barely functioning internet. Uninspired to bad food. Staff barely speaks English and has no service attitude. Given the plethora of hotel choices in Bali there is no reason to stay at the Plataran

Keep it a Secret!
I am reluctant to write a review for this place, as I do not want it to become so popular that the prices soar. We stayed at the Novus Bali Villas for 3 nights, and could not have been more pleased. First, having an entire villa to ourselves was very enjoyable, but having a truly Balinese styled villa was wonderful. We saw many other villas and hotels, and nothing compared! We were gently woken up in the morning with the faint sound of Balinese ceremony music coming from outside of the resort, with the music becoming more energetic throughout the day. This music/chanting, along with the villa next to the river made the stay feel almost "magical". The villa had every modern amenity you could desire from a high-end hotel, including a large selection of dvds as well. We were also lucky enough to meet a lovely hostess named Eka at the resort, she helped us to find places to see and was very friendly. We will definitely return!

Die Unterkunft ansich ist schön. Mussten nach Einzug sofort das facility Management anrufen, da die Poolbeleuchtung Lose im Pool hing. Als wir ein zweites Mal anriefen, da wir eine "Green snake" (hochgiftig!!!) in den Büschen sahen, war die reception schon genervt. Zum Schluss mussten wir an der Hauptstraße (10min fussweg vom Resort) auf unser Taxi warten, weil der taxibetrieb auf der Straße nicht erwünscht sei... Komisch nur, dass wir mit dem Taxi zum Resort fuhren und dies auch kein Problem war. Sehr enttäuschend für ein solches etablissement.

Super ophold - plads til lidt forbedring
Lækkert resort. Stor villa. Daglig skadedyrsbekæmpelse, myggespray. Super god restaurant til OK pris. Meget venlig og ydmyg service som forsøger at hjælpe gæsterne mest muligt. Hoteller tilbyder nogle inkluderede ydelser men de er ikke så lette at finde. Nogle faciliteter på vores værelse trængte til forbedring, DVD-afspiller virkede ikke og toilet dusch fungerede ikke. Træningsudstyr kunne være lidt bedre (mangler maskine til styrketræning). WiFi er langsom og virker ikke mange steder, fx ikke i gym og i områder mellem villaerne. Fælles pool var stor, god og ren. Villaens egen pool var ikke så lækker at vi ville hoppe i den. Begrænset in room dining valgmuligheder (mange flere på hotellets restaurant). Beliggenhed er OK stille men der var byggearbejde i nærheden hvilket forstyrrede nogle gange. Der er høns på resortet hvilket er meget irriterende da hanen galer meget tidligt om morgenen. Beliggenheden er en smule ubehagelig da man skal gå igennem en mørk vej med mange hunde for at komme ud til hovedvejen. Lad være at booke taxa via hotellet, da de samarbejder med nogen som tager 3-4x markedsprisen. Det synes vi er for dårlig behandling af deres egne gæster.
