Staff do not go out of the way to make your experience pleasant at all. Breakfast was below average. For the expensive pricing, you would expect a better spread, but no. "It's the grounds that made me fall in love with this place. Intimate & beautiful but big enough that you can stretch out your legs by strolling through well cared for gardens. Lots of flowers. "We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Governor's Gargula. We received excellent service from the staff and the food was exceptional. The hotel is located about 6 Km outside of Dambulla and used this hotel as a base to visit many of the sites in the area (Dambula Caves, Sigiriya (Lion's) Rock, and Ruins of Polonnaruwala). Not really walkable to anywhere but most of these sites have to be driven to anyway. I would highly recommend this hotel."
