"Great hotel for your money!"
In a city where hotels are outrageously overpriced, the Montbrillant saves the day.
In Geneve downtown, all hotels are old and most poorly refurbished, so if you're going to get more or less the same experience out of 3-4 star hotels, why pay more? Specially, when the Montbrillant stood out also, for their family room sizes, unbeatable location, and great service.
Room size: our room was big; it fit my wife, daughter, me, and ALL our luggage very well. It even had a kitchenette, which we didn't need, but do recognize comes in very handy for family with small children, or for long stay travelers.
Location: not much to say...right in front of Geneve downtown train station; and since, public transportation for guests is free, you'll move around the whole city in minutes. It doesn't get any better than that!
Service: 1. Front Desk staff very friendly. 2. Room was serviced very well, specially, considering that we were so beat that night, we actually left the room sometime past 4pm. 3. Food... well, as per my wife (self appointed food critic, and very good at it, by the way) the Vitello Tonato was better than the one she tried at Les Armures (fancy Brasserie in Old Town).
We travel a lot, and enjoy all sorts of experiences (expensive and budget); we didn't see any sense in paying those ridiculous hotel prices posted everywhere. We took a gamble on Montbrillant, and ended up very satisfied. Great experience for the price.
