New Year’s Eve in Goa Arambol-beach-Goa-New-Year (800x450)

We’re quite sure that Goa has already come up in your New Year’s conversation, but we thought we’d give you a few more details on the Goan New Year fun to help you make up your mind 🙂

If you want to get lost in a sea of enthusiastic party people, then Goa is the place for you. Join the crowds dancing on the streets and soaking in the full celebratory mood of the occasion. Beachside bars exceed expectations, so you can live out your New Year’s Eve in a way that mirrors the movies!

What to expect? Dancing, drinking and letting your hair down on beautiful beaches.

What to wear? The clothes that you’re most comfortable in, without looking like you’re having a lazy day, as you will need to dress to impress. Or perhaps crack out your new swimwear if spending the day and night on the beach.

What else?  Well, there’s always a whole bunch of doing nothing on the beach – day or night – with exotic cocktails in hand. But you’re not alone. People from all over the world undoubtedly have Goa on their New Year’s hit list, so book your hotel as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

New Year’s Eve in Delhi

The sprawling metropolis that is Delhi, presents us with a different kind of New Years party environment than that of Goa. With its exclusive bars, high-class hotels and exciting restaurants on every corner, a New Year in Delhi is guaranteed to exude glitz and glamour.

If budget is no issue, then we highly recommend Kitty Su or Shiro (at the Hotel Samat), where you’ll dance all night to the latest chart and EDM music.

What to expect? Great food, even better music and the occasional celebrity. New Year in Delhi is going to be a fairly expensive evening, so be prepared for that!

What to wear? If there was ever an occasion to go out looking like a twinkling, fairy light, then New Year in Delhi is it. Don’t be afraid to break out your most flashy garments for the occasion.

What else? If you’re not in the ‘go hard, or go home’ sort of mood, then Delhi is filled with amazing food spots where you can spend your night eating the most luscious Indian food.

New Year’s Eve in Mumbai

Fireworks! Yes, Mumbai has an array of amazing fireworks displays to greet the New Year with open arms alongside you. If you simply look up at midnight (assuming you’re outside) you’re likely to see these fiery illuminations light up the Mumbai skyline. The Pali Beach Resort has been a popular New Year’s destination for a long time, and for a very good reason: the Arabian Sea glimmering in the dazzling, moonlit sky makes for a very romantic and beautiful night of celebration (they also have great fireworks…seriously, we love fireworks!).

What to expect? Food, food, music and more food. New Year in Mumbai isn’t only renowned for its fireworks, but its lashings of amazing food in every restaurant. Ask anyone who has spent New Year there, we’re sure food is to be a key part of your conversation – so food lovers, head here!

What to wear? Unsurprisingly, we’re going to advise looking your best; these evenings of cocktails and clubs are the perfect excuse to dress like a movie star, not to mention feel like one.

What else? If you find yourself single on New Year’s Eve, don’t let this romantic setting deter you, see it as a great place to potentially meet someone amazing!

New Year’s Eve Dive on Andaman and Nicobar Islands

We’re going to ease you out of the party mood, by suggesting the Andaman Islands, where serenity is a definite, but if you change your mind and get the urge to party, there won’t be one too far away. The capital, Port Blair will most-likely be where the party-going thrill-seekers will turn their attention, but if you’ve got your heart set on relaxing and rejuvenating, then you won’t be disappointed.

What to expect? A tropical paradise, oozing with tranquillity and bright blue waters that look good enough to drink (but please don’t!).

What to wear? Well, firstly, please do not forget your swimwear. Next to that, pack comfy clothing and just do your very best resting and relaxing. Leave behind any fussy clothing!

What else? We’ve saved the best part until last: the underwater sea walk! Yes, underwater. You actually have a chance to glide among the seabed, dancing with the fishes surrounded by warm, aquamarine waters.

New Year’s Eve at Dudhwa National Park, Uttar Pradesh

This is one of the oldest national parks in India, and with age comes experience, wisdom and beauty. Dudhwa National Park provides the opportunity to see in the New Year surrounded by the sound of silence in the heart of the wild. Animal lovers can feast their eyes on the elegant and majestic, but sadly endangered Bengal Tiger, amongst other creatures, such as the 300 species of birds that call this park home.

What to expect? Tigers, Elephants, Rhinos and Hog Deer to name a few.

What to wear? It’s a safari, so comfort is vital, but khaki is also key for camouflage.

What else? This park gets pretty popular around New Year’s Eve, so please book now!

New Year’s Eve at Puducherry

This is a wonderful place to celebrate a New Year in India if you’re looking to spend some quality time with friends or family. The area has an interesting history and derives its culture from both French and Tamil heritage, meaning there is plenty of exploring to be done! If you can’t quite make it to France for New Year this year, try walking down the cobbled streets of the French Quarter, surrounded by romantic, pastel coloured buildings on every side, to get a taste of European life.

What to expect? It’s New Year, it’s not going to be silent. But it will be more peaceful than other areas. Try to avoid Aroma Garden as this year they’re having a big New Year’s bash that will be anything but quiet.

What to wear? As you please. It’s a holiday, but bring some comfy shoes as you will be doing a lot of aimless wandering.

What else? Try to taste some continental cuisine, at one of Puducherry’s many restaurants, such as La Pasta or Satsanga.

If none of these are striking the right chord with you, then we have one last option: stay home and surround yourself with friends and family, or snuggle up and get cosy with the one you love! If they’re too far away…fly them in! Seeing in the New Year with the ones you love, great homemade (or shop bought, no judgement here!) and your favourite music is 110% going to lead to an evening of love and enjoyment.
