"This is the perfect hotel for first time visitors to Kathmandu or anyone wanting to stay in Thamel. The city/neighborhood can feel very chaotic at times, and Dalai-La is such a wonderful escape. "Lovely boutique property in the heart of Thamel. Despite being on an extremely busy street, the property was remarkably quiet with a lovely rooftop patio. Rooms are spacious and have fast wifi. Complementary breakfast was a much appreciated bonus. "

"This hotel is on a street with less hotels and shops than much of Thamel so it was overall a quieter site. The staff was very helpful in guiding us to locations and making phone calls for us on several occasions. If we get back to Kathmandu, we will stay here again."

"We chose the penthouse, because I felt like a penthouse would be good. It wasn’t. We flew late at night from the US only to learn that the penthouse was on the 5th floor and they didn’t have an elevator. This made it impossible to stop by quickly at the hotel to get a hat or quickly change a shirt. We didn’t stay. We left the same night and went and stayed at their sister property with an elevator. "The staff at Hotel Buddah were fantastic, starting from breakfast and assisting with anything else (taxi to airport etc) as needed. It is quite a noisy area, which you can hear through the windows at night. Felt slightly unsafe walking around once dark but lovely and popular tourist spot during the day. "
