This is one of those old style hotels that are pricey but not comfortable. They gave us a room in a corner with a view to a back patio because the man at the front desk said I had requested a "quiet" room. Bad choice. Small room, not comfortable at all. I went down to the indoor pool (cold weather in March) only to find out that it has been closed since the start of the pandemic. The good part is the location, right in the center of Zaragoza.

Centrally located in town with easy access to dining, shopping and attractions. Quirky furniture, which we loved. Staff was very courteous and answered our questions immediately. We would stay again.

Great location in Zaragoza. They gave us an upgrade and it was wonderful. Beautiful hotel and surroundings. If I go to Zaragoza again, I will chose this hotel again.

Great location with very nice swimming pool on the roof. Room was great as was all staff communication. Definitely stay here again.

I selected this property on Expedia because it said it had parking on the property. This was not accurate at all. The parking garage (which was a separate fee) was located over a hundred meters away from the hotel. They should not advertise that they have parking available if it isnt on the property in my opinion. I did however like the upgrade to larger room we received. Also its located in same building as Starbucks.

Superb!
Really cool hotel in a great location....cannot fault at all. Rooms great and practical size, everything clean, swimming pool on site, very central location. Would deffo reccomend to anybody.

The swimming pool was not that was on the picture. No tea or coffee in the room. The cleaner entered the room 9.30 in the morning. Shouting all night.

Good location but not tailored to families
This hotel is mostly tailored to business travelers not families. It had a very small sofa bed and a double size bed or another room with two twin beds. The option offered was connecting rooms. The rep at the front desk was very kind to let us see the rooms first. I believe this is one of the hotels with the best location in the area, close to the local Cathedral and the Basilica de Nuestra Señora del Pilar. There is also a Corte Ingles nearby. There is a Starbucks right near the hotel.

As you have commented for families we always recommend two rooms since the sofa that some rooms have as an extra is not such, if not a sofa that dresses with bedding but is not a sofa bed, that's why we always recommend that you take, if available, connecting rooms. a cordial greeting

Great hotel! The location is magnificent, at walking distance from all attractions. The breakfast is amazing, with a great selection of food and flavors. The only complaint is the room service, which is not as personalized as we were expecting. The person who made our room every morning did not pick up the empty /soap bottles and did not clean the room well. But in general, we highly recommend this hotel.

We booked this hotel as it was very central, and the additional of the plunge pool and rooftop looked quite appealing. The location is pretty good - a short walk to the stunning Pilar. Sadly, we were quite disappointed by the room - the furniture was chipped and tatty, the carpet frayed, the air-con dusty... I've stayed in less modern hotels in way better condition than this. The air-conditioning seemed to be capped at 3 degrees less than outside - which for temperatures of 40+ degrees when we were there, was not pleasant at all! It only ever felt really cool first thing in the morning. The bed was really uncomfortable too... The blackout blind in the room worked a treat though! The rooftop pool area is small but a nice addition (if you can get a lounger). Breakfast was okay. Meh.

Had a wonderful stay in a clean, spacious room. Pool was a lovely amenity. Breakfast was good, service was more than adequate. My only wish is that it had a gym/fitness facility!

Nice hotel, great location, awful beds
Overall it was a good hotel, great location, but the room let it down. The noise from outside kept us up on the first night, then we moved to an internal facing room, which was great and much quieter. The beds though.. they were so hard and squeaky. The decor in the rooms is a bit 70’s in a strange way, but the amenities are good, and bathroom quite nice. The rooftop is lovely to relax on (recommend getting a Pomodoro pizza and having it on the roof!) but the pool was shut (opens June 1st). Hotel staff tried to make the effort and be accommodating, but it felt a little “computer says no” at times.

Central Hotel in Zaragoza
Hotel Alfonso was very central to shopping, restaurants and attractions. It was also a very comfortable hotel with friendly staff. The room was nice and clean, comfortable bed. Breakfast was also good.

The hotel had a great location. However, once we entered the room a ”junior suite” the room was pretty run down and we poorly cleaned we found a high shampoo bottle by the soaking tub.

Good location, OK hotel!
OK place to stay...not too many options available. Bit of a corporate hotel. Advertised 'roof top pool' is closed...looks like it has been for a while & not usable anytime soon, not 'just at the moment' as we were told! Bit concerned that customers of Starbucks can use the rear door into the hotel, right next to the lift....not in sight of reception. There is no security access in the lift, so pretty much anyone can use the lift to any floor of the hotel!! Rooms good. Everything needed was available. Right near all areas to visit. Quick Taxi to station.

Good night, The roof top pool is closed for swimming but not to see the skyline of Zaragoza. It´s open from 9 to 21.00 but only guests of the hotel can have access to go outside. The hotel has plenty of cameras in the lobby, close to the Starbucks and elevators, also in the corridors of every room - floor, so everyone can be feel safe. Thank you for sharing your comments of our location. Being in the city center and close to the shopping area and famous places is part of our best call. Kind regards and have a pleasant Christmas

Wonderful hotel and service
This property is absolutely stunning, from the friendly staff at every department, to the incredible great comfort, decoration, spaciousness of the rooms, amenities and service. We had a wonderful stay and definitely will not hesitate in returning to the same hotel the next time. The location could not be any better! Right there in the heart of the city centre, meters away from the transport links, in a nice pedestrian friendly street, not even 5 minutes away from the Basilica del Pilar.

Great place to stay!
The hotel is in an amazing location, seconds from the Calle Alfonso which takes you directly to the Plaza Dr Pilar, where all the history is. The rooms are very comfortable, the air conditioning is great, and the buffet breakfast is well worth the cost. The roof top pool is great, if a little cold, and though they advertise 2 pools only one is open at any given time. Service at the reception desk is very slow, and the housekeeping leaves a little to be desired.

Great position and Hotel, staff need to improve
The hotel is located in the old town and is a 5 minute walk to all the major tourist attractions, bars and resturants. Zaragoza is a big town about a 3 1/2 hour drive from Barcelona but its not hectic like Barcelona. It's the perfect location for a stop if you are driving North or South. The hotel was easy to find and a public car park is basically across the road and its a reasonable cost. The room (a Junior suite) was fantastic with plenty of room for us and our bags. There is a lovely roof top terrace with a pool but if you want to take advantage of the view at night do so before 9.00pm which is when it closes. The only disappointment was on check in with the reception staff who were less than welcoming but we didn't deal with them again until checkout. Zaragoza and Hotel Alfonso are highly recommended!

The overall look of the hotel, both on the outside and the inside, is very impressive. The facilities are second to none, the rooms are very comfortable, with Wifi, TV and hygiene facilities. The hotel reception staff and maids were very pleasant, but the staff in the restaurant were a little reserved and came across as though they didn't enjoy being there.

What a find!
Stayed one night to see the Basílica de Nuestra Señora del Pilar and Aljafería Palace. The hotel met beyond our expectation. It was centrally located, walking distance to all of the sights and the hotel rooms were modern and clean. They had a rooftop area and even a Starbucks Coffee situated next to the hotel. The staff at Hotel Alfonso even recommended a restaurant just down the street where the food was traditional and frequented by locals. I highly recommend this hotel if you are going to stay in Zaragoza.
